Don’t do it!!! This is review mostly pertains to condo #1018. I didn’t use any of the condo’s amenities, with exception to the gym. The gym is very basic: 2 treadmills(1 not working), 2 elliptical machines and a few weights. Dislikes: 1. I came home all bitten up from the bed bugs that infested condo’s mattress 2. Upon arrival, I noticed blood stained sheets 3. The unit had a smell of funk/musk 4. The unit most likely hasn’t been remodeled since the 70’s. 5. Luckily I brought flip flops, cause no way was my feet touching that shower or floor. 6. A mandatory $ 100 cleaning fee was added to the bill 7. Did I mention that the unit smell of funk/musk 8. Even at the lowest air setting possible, it just seemed as if I couldn’t get the room to a comfortable setting. 9. The parking lot was built with only compact cars in mind. Likes: The concierge service was a B+. This was the best thing the complex had going– the folks who provided ideas/tips on excursions and food. Lesson Learned: You truly get what you pay for. I should’ve known at $ 140/night, in Maui, that the accommodations would most likely be sub par.

Me and the girl decided on a slightly last minute vacation to Maui from Oahu. Found a package from Costco travel that featured the Royal Kahana as the hotel of choice for our price range. Overall we both really enjoyed our four night stay here. The hotel room was actually a full sized apartment that included a full kitchen and living room, walk-in closet, bathroom, vanity sink, and a king size bed room. The view from the balcony and bedroom windows were amazing to wake up to as well as the sound of the ocean.

The Outrigger was home for a week during our stop in Maui. We loved having some of the amenities it offered and was great because we were looking for a very low-key option. What we loved: –the kitchenette and on-site bbqs made eating in easy! The full fridge was great to have for our longer stay! –the location is great for getting into Lahaina to visit the more touristy shops and restaurants. –located just a short walk from the general store and maui brewing company. –comfy king bed! –the concierge was lovely and very helpful when asked about plans for new years eve. What could use some improvement: — like another guest mentioned, on the higher floors it certainly does sound like a wind tunnel. We were fine sleeping with our lanai door open so it actually made for a lovely experience hearing the ocean when you wake up. If you are more inclined to run the AC all night, the wind tunnel noise certainly would be annoying. — we rented paddle boards and due to the restrictions about bringing boards and bikes in through the lobby we are required to carry them through the garage and up to the pool area period the company we rented from noted that it’s very difficult to get boards in and out of that area so it wasn’t as friendly when trying to rent other amenities. This condo was perfect for what we were looking for, and seemed to work well for the families that were on site to. All in all I would definitely recommend, but only if you are a more relaxed easygoing traveler.
