Not a bad little café in the only eating area of Laguna Vista. It’s a casual café with large portions, friendly service, and good prices. Don’t expect gourmet, but it’s similar to other local eateries. The Good: –Trade-a-book section of their café: bring a book, take a book -«The kitchen sink» breakfast: enormous and definitely everything in the kitchen sink. The Bad: -«smoking section» = right next to «nonsmoking section»(never understood this) Have only had breakfast there, but I was entertained with magazines, books, and the old lady smoking right next to me in the smoking section. You’ll leave with a full stomach, new gossip, a good read, and possibly cigarette-smelling hair.

Do you like Manuel’s and Isabella’s? Give Bayside a try. Very similar breakfast menu with much smaller crowds. Big portions, local favorites like breakfast tacos, migas as well as other traditional dishes. Great prices…, I think the huge breakfast taco with 3 eggs and 2 ingredients of your choice was $ 3. One will fill you up. I’ve eaten here a couple of times but I never remember visiting when it was called Daylight Donuts… it’s called Bayside Delicatessen now.
