It was our first experience here; school was out for the summer, so what a great reason to try it! The clerk was very nice, and although we had read the sign about how to place an order, he explained the process again. Very helpful. It’s true; it does take awhile to get your ice cream, but isn’t that all part of it? Watching the process is part of the experience! The ice cream itself was quite good. I chose the custard base, and added lime and cheesecake bites, which blended into the already rich ice cream to make it even tastier. Such a nice treat! We all enjoyed it, and had fun watching the freezing process. I noticed the clerk was patient and nice with everyone. That’s a plus. Will be back for sure!

The hype of being on «Shark Tank» does not live up to the expectations. You are paying for the show, not for a quality product. Speaking of a «large» which is really 2-scoops cost us $ 9.18. That is right $ 9,15 for 2 scoops of ice cream. It was good, but not worth it at all. I was expecting way more for the cost. Not even close to some of their competitors.

First time here. This is the coolest pave ever. You get tmso many choices. It’s so customized. We were greeted by Rhiannon who explained everything to us. I got a vegan base with watermelon & cotton candy flavor & cheesecake bites all made together. It was sooo yumny! Dan made the best ice cream we’ve had in a long time! & they have the cutest color spoons!

Delicious ice cream and they have great specials during the weekdays too. Employees are always helpful. My one note — the trash can is always full so there’s always ice cream all over it. Take out the trash!

Custard base chocolate ice cream with white chocolate chips was a great pick by my kid. However, $ 4 for a kids size cup is pretty steep! The courteous customer service and liquid nitrogen ice cream magic show impressed my kid, so we will be back and the ice cream was pretty good.

We came here on a Tuesday night and was greeted my a friendly staff member. Since it was our first time, she explained the order process. Very informative. She also mentioned that on Tuesdays, they have a promo where it’s buy one regular cup and get a kids cup free. A man ahead of us offered to give one of my kids his free kids cup. So sweet! We thanked him and he was on his way. As soon as it was our turn to order, the same«friendly» staff turned cold. She took our order for one regular ice cream and one free kids cup but didn’t give us the free kids cup that the previous man offered. She moved on and took the next customer’s order. How rude! So my husband asked her for the other free kids cup and she was a little sassy about it. Bottom line: the ice cream was decent but we spent $ 9.00 on one regular sized cup that wasn’t even full. There were so many air pockets. Good thing we got the kids’ ice cream free. I’d rather go to creamistry or cream.

I have given sub zero a fair shot. Unfortunately it’s time for me to review :/. Unlike many of these reviews, I don’t have a huge issue with the flavor or service. Maybe I have lucked out with which ones I have picked or when I have gone in. However, I definitely agree with how overpriced this place is for what you get. I am far from someone that is unwilling to pay for great food but have you seen how they measure their mix-ins? Talk about nickel and diming?! they charge something RIDICULOUS(I apologize I can’t recall an exact number) for additional scoops of sprinkles. I am willing to pay for extra toppings no problem but they skimp to begin with! Coldstone doesn’t start charging until you really start asking them to pile it on. That is what really drives me nuts. The whole point of going is so you can«pick your flavor/Mix in etc…» But what’s the point if I can’t event enjoy what’s inside cuz I have to dig to find it?! Their prices are through the roof for the average everything else they provide. I always leave disappointed. I need to stop going back :(

It’s just OK tasting. Flavors are very muted and consistency is not very creamy. Definitely better ice cream out there. Even Rite Aid ice cream is much better. The premium cost is well worth show however. It’s a fantastic show and learning opportunity. Kids will love it. Service is always friendly and orders process through quickly.

I love this place! Walked in to a delightful aroma and cute little set up. For sure get the new age ice cream shop feel. So much to choose from, every flavor you can think of pretty much. Then they make the ice cream right in front of you which makes it interesting and fun for kids(big kids too :)). So another awesome part of this awesome place is they have options for special diet needs, vegan, non-dairy, low sugar, etc. And the ice cream is sooo good!!! We got the bernoulli Brule(#4) which was delicious and for the kiddo we got the birthday cake capacitor(#7) and it truly tastes like cake. I am now an ice cream/dessert snob, I have not had anything this good in a very longtime, Go get some!!!

The ice cream here is not very good. We got a nice coupon here otherwise I doubt we would have come to one of these ridiculous liquid nitrogen places. This one is worse than others, the ice cream is runny and they use artificial fake tasting syrup flavors in the mix and squirt it in before freezing it. My son told me to give this place 1 star but I am being nice here. I really doubt this place will be around in the future, if anyone wants to take that bet for $ 20 let me know!

This ice cream/yogurt place uses liquid nitrogen to freeze the ice cream/yogurt base. You can totally customize it with flavors and mix-ins, or choose from their pre-designed recipes. They have different bases, which is nice: premium ice cream base, low fat ice cream base, custard, nonfat yogurt, lactose-free(coconut oil), vegan/dairy-free(almond), and sorbet. Expect to pay a bit more than you would at Coldstone. I got my yogurt with piña colada and strawberry flavors, with raspberries and graham cracker as mix-ins. It’s ok, kinda lumpy, but I guess that’s party due to my mix-ins and partly because an ice cream that is hand-churled by spatula is bound to be less smooth than one that has been churned in a machine for hours. I also am not digging the piña colada flavor, but since I chose it, I suppose that’s my fault! Service cannot be faulted. Was greeted promptly and warmly, and didn’t have to wait anyones than it took them to make my dessert. Okay experience today, maybe due to me making dubious flavor choices. Still, clean, friendly, neat concept. I will be back and try their ice cream instead of yogurt.

Amazing! I got the chocolate with marshmallow flavor and Andes Mints. The staff is so friendly and helpful, and the ice cream is outstanding. You can really taste the quality. They have a lot of different options — something for everyone. They have dairy free options, «healthy type» options, and a lot of different mix ins and flavors. I will be back!

What a let down. What a disappointment. Did the nitrogen process do this? Is Subzero just not very good? It was the man I love’s birthday, and he wanted to check out a new place and we finally got to try one of these fresh, quick, homemade ice cream that is made in a flash! I had this child’s size coffee and there was absolutely zero coffee taste. In fact it really didn’t taste like anything at all. Hubbies’ small black cherry with chocolate chips was not so great either apparently, with very little cherry taste, let alone black cherry and bordering on stale chocolate chips. As we sat at the table tepidly eating the not so great ice cream, I noticed a sign on the table saying if you did not love your flavor or your flavor combination please tell them and they will make you a new one as some flavor combinations just do not work. Very nice touch and that is what gave them two stars instead of one. Unfortunately if they can’t get coffee flavor in there I don’t know that I’m going to like any other combination. The prices are not cheap and overall, this is going in the never will be back column.

We came in avout half hour before they close. My husband got a perfect ice cream, but mine. The girl made my ice cream seemed like she did not wanna b there or didnt care about my order at all. It came out so watery. It was so so obvious she did not do good job by comparing with my husbands ice cream. I was gonna say something but tried to ve patient… now I regret that I didnt say anything because after 6min or so it was like a milk shake already. Its not cheap ice cream she should have made my ice cream as it is supposed to be. I didnt say anything to her thus I decided to leave a review about tonight. Next time if they make my ice cream like the one I got tonight, I definitely say something for sure.

I have never been the type of person that likes to make a big deal about my birthday, I think it has something to do with being in the Marines for ten years. During my time in the military, at best, it was a day devoutly to be ignored and at worst, an opportunity for hazing(Thanks drill instructors!). My wife wanted to do something for my birthday and Sub Zero provided an opportunity to make everyone happy. It kept things low key(which I appreciated), she was able to do something for my birthday(which she appreciated) and I killed off another bookmark. That is what Michael Scott would call a «Win, Win, Win!» resolution. Or at least I thought … I have read the nightmare reviews about the lines at other liquid nitrogen ice cream shops, so arriving around 9:15pm on a Friday, I was expecting the worse, but was pleasantly surprised to see a small line when we arrived( ) at this location. Ordering is a four step process( ), unless you order a Sensation(designed combinations). Step one: Pick a size from Kid Size to a Quart(they also do shakes and pies). Step two: Pick a base(Premium Ice Cream, Lo-Fat Ice Cream, Custard, Yogurt, Lactose-Free, Vegan and Sorbet). Step three: Pick a flavor(s)(53 flavors choices by my count). Step four: Choose your add ins. The person who took our orders was helpful and asked if this was our first. When we responded in the positive, she took a little time to go over the ordering process. My better half went with a Kid’s size of Coffee Custard with no add ins and I chose a Small Black Cherry Ice Cream with Dark Chocolate Chips. I have read the horror stories regarding long waits at Creamistry, but our ice cream orders( ) were ready in less than five minutes. While I was waiting, I checked out some of the posted information( ) regarding Nitrogen. Once we had our creations, we grabbed a half booth under the logo( ) and dug in. My lovely wife’s custard( ) was completely void of flavor. Knowing how I abhor coffee, she had me take a bite and I can honestly say if you blindfolded me asked me what flavor I was eating, I would be complete stumped. My ice cream( ) was almost as equally bland and the chocolate chips seemed a little stale. Rohlinism: If you are going to feel guilty about consuming empty calories, you should at least make your taste buds happy! Their mantra is less air + smaller crystals = the ultimate rich/dense/creamy dessert. I will admit the crystals were smaller and there was less air than I expected, but along with freezing out those things, they managed to freeze out all the flavor. As far as the consistency /density, I would liken it to the ice cream at Baskin Robbins. Our two ice creams were $ 9.72 and that is on the higher end for two small scoops of ice cream. Adding insult to injury, not only did we have the guilty of the empty calories, but my lovely wife felt guilty because this was a birthday fail and I felt guilty because I suggested this place. Or as Michael Scott would put it … a «Lose, Lose, Lose!» resolution! I might try a different Nitro business to see if the process or the business model is flawed, but rest assured, I won’t be going back to Sub Zero!

Definitely a fan of Sub Zero! So if you’re going to judge, pick the best they offer. At least that’s my justification. I always start with the custard base. It’s a rich, smooth and extremely creamy. It brings out the flavors like none of the other bases. If you have to go low cal, then there are other options, but be advised that even«Sub Zero» calls them alternatives for a reason. They have low-fat milk and yogurt bases and they also offer soy and rice milk for lactose intolerant and vegan customers. So they’ve got you pretty well covered. AMBIANCE and LOCATION(Rating 5) I’ve been to three locations so far and they were were consistently cool and well kept. They even smelled clean. The environment is fun and SUPERCOOL for kids. It’s not fast however but it’s quite a show. ICECREAM(Rating 4) The ice cream taste is great and they have numerous items to choose from. One other service they offer is called«the Chill Factor». I.e. how hard or soft the ice cream is prepared for you. I was never offered this service and wish I had, as they tend to be over-frozen in my opinion. Still awesome of course!

I like their ice cream. I enjoyed watching the nitrogen billowing around the ice cream station. The children in the shop had fun swatting at it. I tried their peanut butter ice cream with a peanut butter cup mix-in. The peanut butter flavor was very good. I prefer their ice cream to Cold Stone’s because it isn’t overly sweet. I had a small and it was $ 5. I sampled my husband’s amaretto ice cream and liked that as well. The cherry flavor in the amaretto is great. They also have vegan and low fat options.

Fun concept, but the process is incredibly slow. I came in on a Sunday and there was maybe 10 ice cream orders while I was there. Each order requires mixing in a large bowl, and they only have so much counter space to get our orders mixed. Then they have 3 nitrogen stations, they only utilized 1 station. All of these factors contributed to the 20 minute wait when they weren’t even busy. I liked them on Facebook to get a free waffle cone, it was the worst soggy cone I’ve ever had. Then the way the cone is and the weight of the ice cream made my ice cream fall over onto the counter. The girl didn’t even offer to replace it. The way she scooped it was so stupid. My girlfriend had strawberry mix ins and it just turned into to icy bits that weren’t good. I’ve had awesome nitrogen ice cream else where but this place was terrible. Terrible service and ice cream. I won’t be back and would not recommend this place.

LOOKATTHAT! They are making my ice cream via SCIENCE! Aagh! No, these employees aren’t warlocks — they are just normal humans like you and me and they put your tasty creation in a NITROGENSHOWER! CAPSLOCK!!! AAGH! So, you walk in, you look at this gigantic tank to your right — that’s the real deal in there, guys. Think, like, what caused the T-1000 so much trouble in Terminator 2: Judgement Day. You with me? Yeah… you are… because everyone gets that reference — and if you don’t then you should totally watch that movie and then go, «Oh!» at the part I’m talking about. And then TREATYOSELF with some wonderful science dessert here at Sub Zero. Walk up to that menu board — don’t let it intimidate you. There are numbers to guide you. Pick your milk(they have soy, you lactose intolerant Unilocalers), pick your size, pick your flavors, pick your toppings, and then let the science happen. A friendly employee will step on a foot pedal whilst your bowl o’ goodies is under a frozen showerhead and engulf your mix of calories in cool theatrical fog. And when the mistly layer clears there will be FREAKIN’ ICECREAMINTHATBOWL! AAGH!!! I dig this place and you should totally check it out. Matthew J. approved!
