The sushi was really bad. I went on a Sunday at noon so maybe it’s a little on me, big come on. crunch roll was gross, I actually tossed it after 3 prices. The baked roll we got(I don’t recall the name) was also bad, very fishy smelling/tasting.

We used to eat at Sango often & liked the friendly owner & the staff. The restaurant is under new ownership so we tried it tonight & we were very disappointed. The quality of the food has gone down. The poke bowls had very little fish & was mostly cucumber topping on top of a bowl of rice. For the price, I’ll stick to a poke restaurant & pay a few extra bucks. We also ordered teriyaki chicken & tempura. The chicken looked unappetizing as it was a flattened piece of white chicken. It tasted like it was heated up & had bottled teriyaki sauce poured on top. The tempura was a dark brown color indicative of old oil that it was fried in. Good tempura has a crunchy, pale yellow coating when it’s fried in fresh oil & our tempura was nothing like the usual you’d expect. Disappointed & not going back.

I usually order Sushi combo B(~$ 12) or A(~$ 9) depending on how hungry I am. Other family favorites are Udon, Chicken Katsu Curry, side of California Roll. Prices are reasonable and staffs are friendly. Our favorite Japanese restaurant.

I usually order food to go here and their sushi are fresh and delicious. This place is small but neat and clean. I love to order their Combo A with different sushi, charishi bowl, and their chicken bowl as well. Worth for a try!

I eat here about twice a month. It is always good and the staff is always pleasant. Avoid the lunch time rush.

Best Japanese food in laguna niguel by far! Order their sashimi, you won’t be disappointed. Fresh fish and staff was very accommodating. Not full service but still was very worth the wait.

Reliable spot for cheap eats. For the very reasonable price we got plenty of sashimi, sushi, side salads, miso soup and rice. Everything was fresh and I particularly liked their salad dressing. Order and pay at the counter and they’ll bring the food to you. Very friendly service with great recommendations. It is a small space with uninspired décor, but that’s irrelevant to this type of eatery. If you have a sushi craving and don’t want to spend too much time and money, Sango Sushi is where it’s at.

Small, casual restaurant serving sushi and Japanese dishes such as curry, udon, and tempura. They are located in a large shopping plaza off of La Paz Rd, next to the CVS Pharmacy. They share a large parking lot with the plaza, so parking is never an issue. However, the restaurant is small with limited seating, so I recommend ordering to-go. They have a fairly large menu with good food, fair portions, and reasonable prices. We love everything on their menu from the sushi(you can also order large trays for parties and special events), vegetable udon(will definitely satisfy vegetarians!), katsu curry, to my favorite, the salmon sango plate. So scrumptious. I’ve been coming here for years, and apart from their portions getting a bit smaller, they have been consistently good.

I’m sorry but this place is disgusting. The crunchy rolls are massive. You can’t even eat it. Sushi rolls are supposed to be small bite sized not 6 huge rolls. Gross. Aside from that, the thing that reaaaalllllyyyyy sent me over the edge was that my food came out of a MICROWAVE! I saw it with my own two eyes. The noodles were top Raman noodles. It was looked and tasted disgusting. I wasted a full plate and just left. Yikes. I have no idea how these people think this is a good place.

Fast, cheap, and tasty Japanese food. Some of our favorite dishes are: Sushi combo, poke bowl, katsu bowl, udon, and all of their set bento boxes. Portion is always generous. The server are always friendly. You can get very full for under $ 10.

Sango sushi has excellent Susihi I order the chicken teriyaki plate which comes with white rice and a salad. The salad is yummy great dressing. The portions are big and prices are reasonable. If you’re going to pickup, call ahead. The California roll is the best.

Wedged between Kasra Grill restaurant and CVS Pharmacy is Sango Sushi. This place reminds me of Golden Dragon restaurant in the same shopping center; fast food place and it’s always better to-go. Order and pay at the counter first; then you are handed a number for your table. Menu is all over the place which seems disorganized. The drink dispenser has the usual soft drinks and the straws are on the right side of the machine. If any chairs were vacant, the tables weren’t because the empty plates and cups were silently awaiting attention that came nearly 15 – 20 minutes later. I noticed when tables were attended to that the employees had just eaten their lunch from the surrounding tables. Soy paper is available for your sushi rolls. Not sure if the sushi was fresh but everything tasted okay. The employee picking up my empty plate was in good spirits and chuckled with me as I mentioned my mess. I won’t be dining here again but it was an experience. . ____________ /((@))((@))((@)) /| «To go, please.» | — — — — — |/

Great little place to get a quick cheap lunch. My husband loves the curry here. I usually get combo A(sushi) which is filling and yummy. The service here is always good, everyone is friendly. The plaza always has lots of parking.

the food here is great and cheap, I got a Teriyaki Chicken huge plate for some $ 7 and you get your own soy sauce and wasabi, great for to go orders. The service is fast and polite and the place looks busy even between lunch and dinner. I wish it was a little cleaner and better taken care of though, it looks like nothing changed since 1995 and no one cleaned around since 2012. I’d come back and pick up food rather than eat in.

2.5– Service is good and it’s fairly cheap but def not on par with the fish quality! I got a chirashi bowl which can usually run up to $ 24 in other places and I was happy to see the low price of about $ 11 but you definitely taste what you pay for. The fish had a frozen-then-thawed taste to it so it was rather disappointing.

Easy, casual japanese food. Order at the counter, food comes out quickly. I like their combo options — makes ordering easier for me. I got the ever popular combo A. It was a lot of food(but I finished most of it anyways) — talk about being stuffed! I think between the california roll and sushi, there is a lot of rice. Good thing the Aliso Wilderness Park is nearby and we went to hike and walk around afterwards. I wish they served hot tea but you have to order it separately. The salmon and yellowtail were good. I would pass on the tuna here. ALSO, there is wasabi already added(hidden in between the fish and the rice). So BEWARE! I had to learn the hard way when my nose felt like it was going to burn off because I unknowingly added additional wasabi when eating the sushi. Not sure why they do this as not everyone likes wasabi. Wouldn’t come here if looking for«good sushi» but if in the area and hungry and don’t want to sit down somewhere fancy or $$$, this is a good option.

There is no better sushi for the price. This is our local go-to quick sushi spot. It’s a no-frills hole-in-the-wall casual dining sushi restaurant. It isn’t a traditional sushi bar. It has a regular following of those who have been lucky enough to find this spot. It’s usually full for dinner, but a table is always available. I always start with the baked scallops and get Combo set A, which includes a good assortment of sushi. Tuna, salmon, shrimp, white fish, albacore and some Cal rolls. I also get their tempura, katsu, and donburi when I want something besides sushi. They also normally have a good beer on tap and house sake to wash it all down.

This was definitely not what I expected. There are tables(no sushi bar to sit at), but you go up and order at the register and pay in advance. They then give you a number and bring your food to your table. The menu is not put together in a way that is pleasing to the eye. And the pictures are not at all appetizing. But I had 30 mins so I decided to push on. I just got the combo A, which is a California roll and 6 pieces of sushi. Not how I would normally order, but it seemed safe and this was not a place I wanted to invest much time in. I did not have a good feeling. And that was before I realized that my soy sauce would be coming out of a large coffee dispenser. All that said, the tables were clean. The presentation of the food was nice. The fish was fine. The rice was plentiful. For under $ 10, definitely a great deal. That said, I would never bring someone here or make this a destination. But if you’re nearby and want something that qualifies as sushi, this works.

It’s some lunch time sadness. Came here with fellow Unilocaler, Anne D. after a morning of running and running some errands and what not. We figured sushi would be a health lunch choice. We stopped by here since it was close by and it seemed pretty good. The sushi was okay. I got the combo«A» which included a cal roll, tuna, shrimp, white fish, albacore, and egg. My fellow Unilocaler, Anne D. got the poki bowl. The combo A was very filling. The cal roll was decent but the other sushi seemed a bit warm. I felt like the fish was not that fresh. She allowed me to taste the oki bowl and it was pretty good, loved that there was a ton of wasabi, but lacked seafood. I think the warm sushi is what bummed me out. The price speaks for itself. The food seems to lack that freshness I an hoping to get when I eat sushi. The restuarant is rather small and seems to be clean. You don’t really see where they make the sushi, so… okay, just saying. Maybe I should try the lunch specials instead as Unilocaler, Sandy S. recommends…
