Shahinian Pulmonary Assoc

I have been an emergency physician for 30 years. Dr George Shahinian is one of the finest critical care physicians/​pulmonologists I have ever know. I have seen him take care of countless patients tettering on the brink. The sicker you are the more you have been blessed if Dr. Shahinian is taking care of you.

I am a physician I was in icu with pulmonary distress I question his medical knowledge I am amazed of his atrosious condescending manner and his lack of knowledge of drug interactions please if u have had the same experience contact the medical board of california before anyone elses life is in jeapordy.

I have been a patient of this doctor for many years. He is amazing, because he is the only doctor I have ever seen that is Quadruple Board Certified. (Pulmonology, Critical Care Medicine, Internal Medicine and Sleep Disorder Medicine). Dr. Shahainian can do it all, it seems. That is just a incredible feat for any doctor. This is why he is in such demand. All his patients love his caring and gentle nature.
At the right time, he can also be quite funny, if the situation warrants.
Now, onto his Office Manager, Dory. There has been a LOT of unfair and unkind nonsense written her about her here, Unilocalers. Dory is a very hard working (over 2000 patients) and a highly intelligent person. The office relies on her throughness and perseverance almost every day in every way. I know when I have a insurance issue with my healthcare, I go to her, and she gets it done. Last year, my problem was with UCLA. Dory took over and suddenly, I was in after weeks of waiting and getting the run around from them. I only wish my other doctors offices were as well run. She is highly thought of by myself and my husband, a former Radiology Tech from Cornell University in New York, and most of his patients. She is also quite busy, can’t spend hours on the phone with you, but she is efficent. She gets things done. That is her in a nutshell.
Dory is all business. She has to be that way because she must sort out various problems constantly all day from hundreds of patients who have no idea of how to reach someone, or straighten out insurance snafu’s. Patients who are already upset and worried need to understand, this is how she works. You want a answer from a person who is precise, and clear cut? You want someone who acts? Go to Dory. who, I think of as a super fixer of all problems.

Doctors are nice but the office manager Dori is the ultimate example of the cliched healthcare workers who think that patients are an inconvenience. I actually was hung up on by her and she kept speaking over me. Very very rude lady. I cannot recommend this place due completely to her.

I was searching for a pulmonary specialist and based on my research Dr. Shahinian seemed to be a good choice and I did review Unilocal and other sources prior to calling the good doctors office…
1^st of all I’m not sure what merits a 1 star review by gypsy for a doctor who the critic has never visited!
Furthermore my experience with Alyssa and Dori over the phone and in person was not only professional, but pleasant and personal!
They verified my insurance information and also made sure that the Specialists Dr Shahinian reffered me to, after my visit would be covered by Health Net… I’m currently disputing a medical bill by my previous Dr for his staffs lack of attention to this exact matter!
BTW, I was thirty minutes late and they were totally cool about it
Finally, Dr Shainian! Pleasant, soft spoken, patient, and great listener are just a few words that comes to mind! That’s extremely difficult to find these days, specially with the pressure and cut backs from the insurance companies! Thanks DOC

Dr. Shahinian he was really nice when explaining my sleep disorder to me and i didn’t get that normal feeling when I’m around doctors he was very friendly and comforting… I came in for a sleep study which was a 2 night process i got the same Tech both times but he was really informative and professional the rooms were awesome tempur-​pedic beds and plasmas screen TV’s
