This place is a hidden gem located in the back of a non-descript Mexican ethnic market. You would never know that if you decide to step inside and look around, in the back is a terrific kitchen making wonderful Mexican dishes. I have been coming here for 5 – 7 years and I love this place-it is a market with half the space dedicated to groceries, and the other half to produce, meat counter, and hot food, steam-table kitchen area. The menu is fairly large, posted above the ordering area, but I love the tacos so much, that is all I order. They have burritos, tostadas, and usually some soup. The prices are extremely reasonable The food has great flavor, is very hot and juicy, and I believe it is very authentic. Most of the customers appear to be Latino, so you know it is authentic! I typically order the soft tacos(two corn tortillas per taco), absolutely loaded with your meat of choice! This is excellent value food. Most Mexican restaurants like to fill their burritos for example with ½ or more rice and beans then sprinkle meat in. Hey, if want a rice burrito, I will order one! This place does not screw around! The tacos are fat, and contain juicy flavorful meats! Plus, fresh onion and cilantro are added along with one fresh lime wedge per taco! The refried beans are authentic, you can taste the wonderful seasonings(okay, a little Manteca). These are not the boiled black or pinto beans that most south county Mexican eateries serve. My dad ordered a tostada and a carne asada taco, and he actually enjoyed it! There was as much meat or more in the taco than most restaurants put in a burrito! I ordered the beef cabeza tacos(ultra succulent tender meat from the head) three taco/rice/beans combo. I spent $ 11.00 and change for our two lunches! Why would you not go here for fast, authentic, tasty food and great value food? You can also get chicken, al pastor, and several other options. They also serve chicken mole, seafood(shrimp), and have fried fish. This food is better than probably 90% of the Mexican food in the area! If you like very tasty, very authentic, great value, generous potions, you should stop by here! You can eat here for lunch-they have half a dozen bar stools and a counter in the back-it is not fancy, but, at least you can sit down. If you enjoy authentic nicely seasoned Mexican specialties, I guarantee you will probably really appreciate this place. If you prefer pretentious restaurants and paying $ 12 – 20 for a combo or a rice burrito, or a platter of bland watered down Mexican food, don’t come here! If you dislike ethnic markets, you probably will not enjoy this. But if you want a little excitement and enjoy new discoveries, you may love this placed!

We picked up food from the quick serve food section and the food was not edible. The chicken quesadilla was packed full with tendon. Every bite was ¾ tendon and ¼ chicken. I found a huge bone in my Chicken flouta that I could have choked on or chipped a tooth on if I wasn’t careful. The al-pastor burrito I ordered tasted like it had sand or dirt, Or uncooked rice in it but I couldn’t be sure. Whatever it was, it was gritty and crunchy. And not only all that but the food was so bland. It may explain the salt packets by the pick up area. We took 2 – 3 bites of everything we ordered and had to throw the rest away. I was hoping we found a diamond in the rough with authentic good quality food but we were severely disappointed. We will not be back.

We love going here, when money is tight! I always leave with more food, and a lot more money still in my wallet then anticipated! When we make items for Cardia Asada, I need fresh salsa and avocados. Then we come here.

I found a gem of a deli. The hot food is delicious and what a deal. My favorite is a carnitas burrito $ 3.99. The posole and menudo are authentic, but too spicy for my pallet. I always get a piece of chicarroni from the meat counter, very good and always freshly made. Love this local place to get authentic Mexican favorites.

This is a really great spot to get some great grub at a great price. There are not many places like this in South County. Everything is fresh and nicely seasoned. There’s a small spot in the back to eat. Trust me, this place will catch on and get bigger eventually in time. Cheers!

We stop here to get our marinated Chicken, Pork and Carne. Decided to get a quick burrito to go. They made it wrong 3 times before almost getting it right. How hard is Chorizo Egg and Cheese? Won’t eat here anymore but the Chicken Breast for $ 1.99 is fantastic.

I have been a regular here since it opened and have been very pleased at being able to buy fresh limes and mint at a fair price, plus the pollo marinada, chips and the hot food here is authentic to what I have enjoyed on many trips to Baja.

Okay, so we cheated on Corona Market and shopped at Antojitos Latinos… Bought pollo marinado to grill and holy balls, was it tasty! Also, grabbed some smoky salsa(which had a respectable afterburn on the tongue) to go with real tortilla chips. Added Cazadores margaritas and great friends for the best damn night picnic!
