If you’ve read any of my reviews, you know I write honest reviews so here goes: My girls and I were down in OC for the Vday/President’s day weekend. We were looking for a place to dine for Vday night and because it was Valentine’s day, almost every place we wanted to go to was booked up. I was excited when I found this place on Unilocal and decided to book anyway even if it was a «new» restaurant and there weren’t too many open for reservations so we gave it a chance. Upon walking in, the place was completely emptied.(New or not, it should never be completely empty .that was the first sign). Of course we had the choosing of where to sit so we chose a booth. Now when a waiter tells you the«presentation» is awesome instead of telling you the food is awesome, walk away. Décor/Ambiance: Nice and clean, Romantic, Casual(could be dressy). 3 Stars Food: The food was below par! I always give the benefit of the doubt but so many things was just wrong! I ordered the New York Steak. It came out burnt and overcooked! Who messes up a steak? Seriously and in LB? The worst thing was the waiter never asked me how I wanted my steak so obviously I told them I wasn’t paying for it! My girlfriends ordered the scallops. The scallops was ok, nothing special and these were considered entrees! Really 4 scallops as an entrée you have not to be kidding me! We also ordered the prawns — again nothing special and was also considered an entrée. Drinks: I ordered an extra dirty martini and the waiter brought me what looked like one but without olives and when I asked where the olives were he proceeded to tell me that they ran out of olives. I took a sip and almost threw up! What he brought me was some kind of watered down vodka with some green stuff to make it look like a dirty martini! Seriously, did he think I was an amateur and didn’t know how my drink should look or taste like? Needless to say I told him to take it back. He said I could keep it on the house, really dude why don’t you drink it. The waiter was like a chicken with his head cut off. He only had three tables and he was messing up all the orders and giving us sob stories about how he hadn’t had time to sit down with the owner to go over the inventory. What kind of BS is that? He also told us that because of the mess, he would give us the prawns for free, take off the steak dish and the martini but then the cook came out and said he would not be able to honor that because the prawns were too expensive. By this time, I had had enough of this BS! Each of my friends and I threw down a 20 and left the place. If this is indeed a new restaurant please close your doors and get yourself together before you even attempt to cater to the public. Not was only our meals messed up so were the other two tables. What a disappointment. I will never give this place a 2nd chance.

Read all the great reviews about the new restaurant so I made a reservation for my partner’s 50th birthday on Unilocal for December 29th at 8pm then I thought we’d party a bit in the lounge afterwards for what would be a great birthday celebration. I tried calling in advance to find out if there was a corkage fee and got no answer. I figured, no problem, we’ll just bring the wine and see what happens. Well, what happened is that when we got there the doors were locked and chairs on top of the tables. It was CLOSED!!! I looked on Unilocal to verify the hours, and of course, they were supposed to be open, and since we had reservations, who knew this could even happen. 50th birthday celebration an EPIC fail. I was obviously embarrassed as I had ruined his celebration. Thanks for nothing, Seaside Lounge!!!

We arrived at this restaurant on New Year’s Eve with a reservation through Unilocal and the restaurant was closed. 5 of us had no where to eat on New Year’s Eve. No sign, no contact, but simply pitch dark. Very upset with Unilocal and if this restaurant is still In business, It shouldn’t be.

Such a great intimate spot. It’s right above Gina’s Pizza if you have a hard time finding it. I went the night of the Grand opening so they were serving free champagne and free small plates. They had roasted mushrooms with garlic and a little bit of bacon, delicious. Then they served crispy pork belly skewers, they sat on a cumin adobo sauce and had shaved cucumbers, carrots and red chili on top. These were amazing. For my dish I ordered the hanger steak. It came with small potatoes and chimichuri sauce. This dish is fantastic. At medium the steak was tender enough to cut with a butterfly knife and there were shaved red chili’s underneath. I also ordered a Moscow mule from the bar that was the best I’ve had. All of the staff is really nice and attentive and the owner even walked around and spoke to each table. The view is amazing and a really nice setting for date night, girls night or happy hour. I’ll be back for sure.

The seaside lounge… Wow, unlike any other lounge or bar you usually come across in Laguna beach. Catering to the local crowd of Laguna beach. This will become a regular spot for anyone looking to arrange a local meeting or just coming in for a quick bite or a late night drink even. Travis gave us a big hello immediately when a business partner and I quickly stepped in to check out there menu, real quick. Travis was extremely polite though and grabbed my attention quick with his mannerisms. We asked to be seated. We took a seat outside on there larger patio, as the sun was setting. It was absolutely breathtaking, and Derick our server was extremely helpful with explaining the gist of their menu here. Derick also went over the bar options briefly yet exquisitely and made sure we both were well accomadated with our seating and questions. I had ordered the calamari small dish which was delicious, and very appetizing. With the suggestion of our wonderful server Derick, I had ordered the Fried Chicken. Once it was in front of me I knew I had made a wonderful decision with the help of my server. I felt extremely satisfied at the end and thanked the owner when he came out and asked about our meal. As we were leaving they had up beat music in the lounge area. There posch upscale lounge makes for a great date night with the lady as well, I can’t wait to bring her here. Will be coming out to try much more soon. PS. Make sure you try the Moscow mule!
