Just stopped in and we were so excited there was one closer than Dana point but it looks like they’re officially closed! :(it’s a dissapointment because their food is amazing

Walked in last night, first time to this location. I can’t say enough about how well we were treated & how welcoming everyone was. The décor was fun & festive — my daughters loved it! Food was good, I went with a shrimp taco & carnitas taco, both were good! Also, the Quinoa cactus salad was delicious! Nice to see a healthy page of options. We will definitely be back!

I am so glad we took the time to venture upstairs(above Gina’s Pizza, another fave!) to try Olamendi’s. Upon entering, we were enthusiastically greeted and seated immediately(we were there a bit early for dinner and beat the crowds.) The menu was traditional with lots of healthy choices amid the usual offerings. The server was excited to recommend his favorites as well as the specials. We ordered too much; nachos and a dinner to share. The chicken in the nachos was a bit dry, but the fresh guacamole more than compensated! We also ordered a chicken enchilada and chili rellano combo. Omg the chili rellano was AMAZING!!! Next time we will get a margarita to go with our meal. The table next to us seemed to enjoy their’s! Great food and comfortable family ambiance. We will be back!

4.5 stars for the big, tasty pitchers of margaritas, delicious salsa(s)(ask for the hotter one too) and friendly and accommodating service. We ordered veggie fajitas off-menu and they did a great job with pepper, onions, carrots and potatoes. I recommend wasting an afternoon sitting on the patio for the nice views of the ocean and good people watching.

Olamendi’s is surprisingly good! I was unsure of the 3.5 star rating but it definitely deserves more than that. Saturday, shortly after opening, was very quiet(I prefer mellow, low volume dining). Chips and salsa were good(well, mainly the warm chips). I ordered the chimichanga; pork and it was lightly fried which is good. I’m used to baked and I’ve tried really fried chimis which are yuck. And my s/o ordered a trio-plate which consisted chile rellenos, enchilada, etc. So, so good! My s/o and his friend were very pleased with the chile rellenos(mind you, they are very particular when it comes to CR’s). As an alternative option, vegan dishes are offered. The waiter/s were on top of refills and checking up on us(group of 6). And we received complementary plates of bunuelos chips(chips coated in cinnamon sugar) topped with strawberries and drizzled chocolate. Whenever I’m back in town, I’ll surely return here! By the way, if you watched MTVs«Laguna Beach» back when(like 11 years ago!) this block was filmed(Gina’s pizza below Olamendi’s, Laguna Surf shop across the street, Wahoo fish taco across the street and another restaurant/café a block down). I wasn’t a fan of the show but I had several friends who were huge fans!

Pleasantly surprised. My husband said we’d find no good Mexican food in Laguna Beach. We started with salsa, guacamole, and their vegan bean dip. He ordered a combo plate and I a shredded taco and dinner salad. He had a beer and I had a skinny margarita. I topped it all off with some flan. Though they said it was homemade, I’m calling BS. But the service was great. The food was delicious. The view was beautiful. We ate and watched the sunset. NOTE parking available off PCH and Oak. Right behind the restaurant.

Best time ever. Had Happy hour Margarita pitcher some apps and a couple beers. George runs it like he owns it because he does and that personal touch made this the best HH experience I’ve had in a long time. Beat the crowds and go mon-thu and get a patio seat overlooking the ocean and pch. I will be running g not walking back to Olamendis

The new owners of Olamendi’s Laguna Beach did a wonderful job with the décor and food. First of all, the food and drinks were amazing. At this Olamendi’s they offer a Vegan menu with a lot of wholesome ingredients. Margarita’s are absolutely delicious and strong =) My favorite is the Coconut Lime Tequila Drink, I seriously had 3 and I felt amazing! haha The view of the laguna sunset was nice and romantic. They have a guitarist who sings Spanish love songs. Although, I cannot understand him, his voice and guitar playing sounds wonderful. A definite place to stop by when you are in Laguna Beach.

Use to come to this place a lot. Food was always awesome and the drinks. Haven’t been here in a little over a year. Kinda disappointing. Food was bland… Cadillac margarita wasn’t the best. Felt like poured out of a bottle. Wish this place would get back to the way it was. It was a great spot for Mexican food. Now I would assume Baja Fresh or Baja fish could do better.
