This is a wonderful place if you love fine dining with a great view! Hans is the best manager you could hope for and the food is top of the line! Would recommend this as a highlight to anyone’s experience’s!

I was very disappointed. The food was good not great but good. The location is beautiful. The service was awful. The price is expensive. Im not sure if it was our waitress but we went for Sunday Brunch. Asking to refill our champagne was a chore. We had to go find her a couple of times. I did notice she was extremely friendly with other tables but not with us. We were not being loud or high maintenance. I think for some reason she disliked us. For this reason I will not return to this restaurant ever again. We complained to the manager and he did not give a rats @$$ about our service being awful. When I spend $ 100 on a brunch /drinks/parking I expect great service.

I have to start this off by saying this is one of my favorite restaurants, that being said, STAYAWAYFROMTHEIRSATURDAYBREAKFASTBUFFET. My husband and I generally try to avoid going anywhere for Valentines Day on the day of, so we decided we’d go to Las Brisas(my favorite for a date) for breakfast the day before. He called and put in a reservation, asking if they were scheduled to be busy that day and was told that they were actually mostly empty at that point. We’d made a reservation for 10:30am, and figured we’d have plenty of time to enjoy a nice relaxing meal. WRONG. First, despite getting there at 10:25am, and having a reservation for 10:30, we weren’t seated until almost 10:50. Okay, so, twenty minute wait for a party of two with a reservation… not a good way to start the experience, but we still had 40 minutes left for breakfast, so… not a big deal yet. We get to our table, and get told we can go get our plates and help ourselves. We walked over to the buffet area, and there were NO plates anywhere in the area. A group of people were gathered around where plates usually were, and the second some got brought out, they’d swarm them– some taking 3 – 4 plates per person. It took us about another fifteen minutes to get a plate, so now we’re at 11:05ish before we get in line for food. Then there was a ten minute wait for the omelets and the waffle iron station had one broken. By the time we were seated with food, it was about 11:15. Our waiter came by to tell us that they were shutting down the buffet in 15 minutes so if we wanted anything to go and grab a final plate(uh, okay… we’d been there for 50 minutes so far and had just sat down with our FIRST plate!?) and that otherwise, we could sit and finish eating, but that breakfast was done. I asked my husband to go back and get me a couple of pieces of the roast that I’d been interested in trying, and the carving station told him that they ran out and didn’t have any other. Just went ahead and paid up and left, but not before my husband had to ask the waiter what happened to the gift card we’d paid with(it was about 70 dollars and we put it on a 200 dollar gc) and he said«Oh, sorry, I just went ahead and put it in my pocket». So, all in all, really left a bad taste in my mouth, and I was just not impressed by our trip. As a recap: 20 minute wait for a table despite reservations, 15 minute wait in line for plates, another 10 – 15 minute wait to get food, and then as soon as we’re seated and eating get told«Okay, we’re done serving you, sorry about your luck!» and the server«forgets» about giving us back a card with another 130 $ in cash on it. I’m grateful my husband thought to ask, otherwise I guess he’d have just gotten a heck of a tip? Very unfortunate from some place that I actually BEG to go to for any special occasion(hence having the gc to begin with, it was one of the things I’d told people I wanted for Christmas!) and now it’s sort of soured me from even bothering to go back. :-/It seemed like it must have been the first time they’d ever done a buffet or something, because it was so unlike their normal quality of service that it was beyond disappointing.

Overall, we had a terrific experience here. If you’re looking for a date spot, this is most definitely it. We sat outdoors on their really amazing patio — fire pit, heaters, and it had a really nice vibe. Then of course there’s the really incredible view of the ocean. And I mean really incredible. The service was outstanding. The place was really busy, yet our server was extremely attentive and friendly. The food I would say was good but not amazing. Perhaps that was due to the menu being skewed pretty heavily towards seafood options — and I’m not crazy about seafood. So if you like seafood, you’ll have some good options here. There were only a handful of non-seafood options, which made the available choices for people like me pretty slim. I’ll need to go back a few more times to get a better feel of the food here. But everything else about this place more than makes up for it. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Location, location, location! If you don’t have beach front sunsets daily, you should eat here! The food is good, sit on patio, relax with a nice fire, friends, food and drinks. Don’t over think it. Stop in and get that table you want

Well, one must not live off the view alone! For once inside after dropping a pocket full of quarters in the meter. You face a barrage of unorganized people. Hostess overlooked our group and quickly sat people that ran for the window. After several minutes and other people being seated, another lady found us a seat by the window with a remarkable view. Perhaps the waiter didn’t notice us as we gazed at the ocean… waiting…waiting…waiting…waiting. Hello… there’s only so much waiting that we can tolerate. A busboy came by and said our waiter would be with us, but the waiter never came by and was concentrating on refills for other tables rather then getting our drinks. Finally the busboy brings us bread and honey butter. The bread was dry and not moist. He then asked what we want to drink. We asked for ice teas and a coffee for my mom. Of course he comes back with one ice tea for my friend and the coffee for my mom. After several more minutes, I get my ice tea. Ice tea was certainly delicious. Finally after ten minutes, the waiter shows up and takes our order. Mom had a chicken breast with veggies $ 20 with some little sauces squirted on the plate. WOW! My friend had the enchiladas for $ 19. I went with the house order of swordfish for a whopping $ 34. The fish, small in size was poorly designed and lacked texture and taste. Certainly for that price, I could have acquired something of a better quality. I wondered who ate the rest of my fish. Lack of good service. Maybe the lack of good service was because I didn’t look like the typical high end class of people. Anyways, I left him a good tip, despite him putting us on the back burner for service. In the end when most people had left, then he showed up more, maybe because it’s time to pay $$$ Oh, did I say pricy for average food.

A few weeks ago, I went to Las Brisas with my boyfriend and my family for a wonderful Sunday champagne brunch. The food, service, and view were wonderful. I really loved the vegetable crepes and Belgium waffle, and my guy loved his filet mignon. Everyone loved the Mexican shrimp ceviche and ahi poke. Las Brisas is not cheap, but it’s a nice place to treat yourself and spend time with people that you love.

I love coming here. The restaurant is very classy and has an amazing view right off the beach. Every time I go, I receive amazing service. The complementary rolls in the beginning fill me up before I even get to order! The food here was good but I wouldn’t say amazing. The calamari was better than my actual plate. Aside from the food, the view and atmosphere of the restaurant is worth coming here!

This restaurant has gorgeous views of the pacific any time of the day and not just at sunset. Came here for weekday brunch and got an awesome seat with view of the pacific. Parking is valet only and it is $ 6. Walking from the valet to the restaurant is beautiful with plumerias and rose plants everywhere. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Food was fresh, buffet stocked and waffles were yummy. Omelet station had great selection of produce, seafood and meat. By the dessert section they had tropical fruits, icecream and cake. Absolutely loved dining here and cannot wait to come back here for more occasions. This place has great views, scenic vibe, romantic and bit of touristy. Note: If you book through Opentable, you will be unable to request for outdoor seats.

Wonderful brunch spot with a killer view. My coworker and I have this thing for brunch spots and we planned this well in advance, although not really necessary. I think she was going for the brunch buffet, but what ended up happening was getting seated at in my opinion, the best booth with a perfect view, and no choice by to order from a $ 45 Sunday brunch menu. The 4 of us, including our dates, decided to stay because what, bottomless champagne?! We did not wait a second to get started. The service from the start was great. Our Server was attentive, helpful, funny, and patient with us even until 3 bottles in. This four course meal starts with fresh fruit, then your choice of salad or soup, and an entrée, and finally a dessert. Complimentary baked goods as well, it was mehhh. I ordered the butternut squash soup. Heavy to say the least. I wasn’t into it all that much, and so the salad was probably the wiser choice. As my entrée, I ordered a Salmon dish with vegetable medley. It was fine. The entrée choices all seemed so heavy and nothing I was in the mood for that day. By the time dessert came out, I was a bit more excited. Apple tart. Still half eaten. The Sunday brunch is filling and priced reasonably because most dishes contain seafood and presented nicely. However, I don’t think I’d make this a regular spot. I absolutely love the view though and couldn’t help but take the steps down to the benches, down to the beach. It’s a great way to spend a Sunday. Just curious about this buffet, though.

Breakfast buffet with the family! I was just eating vegetarian at this point, so I can’t report on the heaps of bacon or sausage links, but I didn’t feel like I was missing out with all the other offerings. I really enjoyed the veggie crepes since they seemed pretty unique. The best thing there were the waffles. Yes it’s the longest line that doesn’t seem to move, but the waffles are probably the best Belgian I’ve had(liege waffles excluded). They were crispy on the outside with a tender chew and flavorful enough to not need syrup. Fortunately we were seated outside of the main dining space — inside it was louder than a dim sum restaurant in full swing. Beautiful garden and ocean view.

We came here for lunch and it wasn’t busy around 12pm. This restaurant had a good view of the ocean and Laguna Beach. There were inside and outside seating as well as a bar. Our waiter was friendly and gave us some recommendations like The Don($ 14) from the margarita section on the drinks menu or the Especial de Mexico($ 21) from the menu. We ordered the Especial de Mexico and the Shrimp Tampiquenos($ 22). It took a few minutes for our food to come out so we snacked on chips and salsa as well as bread. Both of those were nothing special. The Especial de Mexico was delicious and enough for one person. I was full after I finished it all. The Shrimp Tamiquenos were also good. I would recommend either one of those. Overall, I thought this was a good place for Mexican food with a good view.

Came here for the brunch, stayed for the view. We missed the Breakfast Lunch that ended at 10:30AM but ended up staying for the $ 45 Sunday Brunch after we saw the beautiful ocean view. I only wish our host sat us closer to the window. To start off, the service was impeccable from start to finish. Our server gave us plenty of time to soak up the unlimited champagne before taking our appetizer and entrée order. Personal and patient in explaining/recommending items in addition to being very quick to refill our glasses, we couldn’t have asked for a better server on that beautiful afternoon. Accommodating in every way, lets just say he honored every request for a refill until we were having trouble walking down the steps to the beach below. Our $ 45 Sunday Brunch consisted of a four-course meal that includes unlimited champagne and orange juice if you want to make mimosas, an array of seasonal fresh fruit to start, a salad or soup, an entrée, and a desert. I went with the Butternut Squash Soup of the Day and the Crab Stuffed Oregon Trout. The Butternut Squash Soup was absolutely delicious but very heavy. I did my best not to finish it as I knew that if this is any indication of whats the come, the entrée’s going to be quit a filler. Besides the presentation, the Crab Stuffed Oregon Trout was a let down. Just imagine Crab Stuffed Salmon Sushi that has been baked and you’ll get the picture. Being the main star of the meal, I would expect it to have more flavor. Tasting more like butter than anything else, this sauce was in desperate need of any kind of seasoning to lift the salmon. I also wished they gave larger cuts of vegetables instead of the small minced array that was provided. When your soup is more appetizing than your main entrée, you have a problem. Based of this dish alone, I would’ve been happier to pay $ 35 for the meal. Las Brisas offers one of the most beautiful ocean views for you to enjoy while you sip on complimentary Mimosas with your loved ones. I can only imagine how perfect the view would be during sunset. For a $ 45 brunch, I expected more in flavor especially from the main entrée but the excellent service we received was priceless. And no, that’s not the champagne talking.

Come here for the view, not for the food. I was really excited for the food, leaving slightly disappointed… and still hungry. Hits: * Sit out on the patio for a gorgeous panoramic view of Laguna Beach * Pair the view with some Margs($ 12) and Coolers($ 11), and you can trick your social media friends/followers into thinking you’re vacationing at a tropical locale… TFTI is what they’d say :) Lessons Learned: * Skimpy portion sizes * The food could be much better for its prices — the Guac($ 13) was a little too tart from the lemons, Ceviche($ 16) lacked flavor and freshness * The Ahi Poke Tower($ 16) and Spicy Tuna Nachos($ 16) were practically the same thing but with slightly different display presentations * Seating on the patio can be tough to find(you seat yourself) on a pretty day when everyone wants to soak in a bit of that Vitamin D * This is a loud spot so it is possible to strain your vocal chord while conversing with friends * I think parking is only/mainly valet — turn into the Laguna Art Museum parking lot Despite my criticisms, I do recommend this place if you are looking for a lazy afternoon or weekend brunch with the gals(and guys, I suppose) to soak in some ocean breeze while sipping on artificially colored, sugary cocktails and taking in mediocre-tasting sustenance.

Las Brisas never failed to please me with their delicious breakfast buffet that starts at 8! They always have a good selection of items, meats, veggies fruits and the omelet station of course… the service is outstanding! If you are visiting from out of town, you have to come experience the view. I go here everyday for breakfast when I am in Laguna Beach. LOVELOVELOVE

For my 200th5 Star Review, and 200th Review in 2015, I wanted to share a very cool place in Laguna Beach. I recently completed the Laguna Beach trifecta: The Rooftop Lounge, The Deck and now Las Brisas. The address says Las Brisas is on Cliff Drive. However, actually you take the 133 to PCH, head North(make a right), and it is on left hand side shortly after you make the turn. They serve Mexican food that is better than highly touted Javiers. In addition, they have a breakfast buffet. We ordered fish & Mexican shrimp ceviche($ 14), ahi poke($ 15) and queso fundido($ 14 — chorizo, shrimp, shitake mushrooms & corn). The ceviche was very good. It was loaded with fish & shrimp, and it was nicely seasoned. The only downside was the fish was a bit overcooked with the citrus: 4 Stars. On the other hand, the poke was excellent. They don’t try to complicate the poke here like many places. It was fish and a little bit of seasoning. The only thing missing was limu(seaweed): 5 Stars. Lastly, the queso fundido was outstanding. It wasn’t all greasy from the chorizo like many places. Additionally, the shrimp added a sweet taste as did the corn. Although it looked small, it ate like a meal. We asked for corn tortillas and they came out piping hot to make tacos: 5 Stars. Regarding the ambiance, it is very, very nice. There is a bar as you walk in, large dining areas, and a patio with another bar. In addition, there is a beautiful view of the ocean as you walk outside and see the rose garden. You can walk down to the beach from behind the restaurant: 5 Stars. Likewise, the service from Johan the bartender was excellent. We decided to sit inside because it was hot and humid, and he took really good care of us. Johan hails from Honduras, and he is a bit of a jokester — hmmm, like someone else I know — LOL! He is very attentive, engaging, and an outstanding bartender. He made me The Don($ 14 — Don Julio reposado, Grand Marnier, and organic agave nectar). The drink was excellent on a hot autumn day: 5 Stars. In comparison, I like The Deck the best(its on the beach and the food is excellent), Las Brisas next(the service is excellent, and it is a diverse restaurant), and the Rooftop Lounge the third. Nonetheless, any three of the places are a nice way to spend the day eating good to excellent food, enjoying a view of the ocean, and receiving very good service. You can’t go wrong!

My family and I came here for my sister’s birthday for the breakfast buffet on a beautiful Saturday morning and I thought it looked oddly familiar… the picturesque ocean view, the omelette assembly line, the whiteness of everything… ANDITWAS! Because we came here a few times probably a good 10 years ago and all I remembered was the great viewpoint and the omelette line… and it’s just about the only thing I will remember from this visit. FOOD l 2 — omelette l 5: of course, you can customize it to however you’d like it. They have a variety of meats and veggies you can add to your omelette, put some cheese in the middle, put some cheese on top, and a ladle(that’s right, a ladle) of the salsa! — eggs Benedict l 1: it’s a very simple eggs Benedict and you know how that moment of the egg yolk just slowly oozing out when you cut down the middle of the egg? Yeah, I didn’t experience that. HHAHA. It was overcooked, or if was in the pan for too long, but either way, I couldn’t finish the rest of it because it didn’t taste good — unfortunately everything else didn’t look appetizing and I didn’t get it, or it didn’t taste good.(Bacon, cottage cheese, waffle, etc) SERVICE l 4 We had one man who served our table and he had a great sense of humor and took our empty plates away on a timely manner, but we sometimes had to ask multiple times for beverages AMBIENCE l 4 The view is gorgeous! I definitely recommend a table near the window. Minus 1 pt for the janky-looking buffet area PRO: — omelettes are good! — they offer egg whites, but you have to request it CON: — the buffet is in a small area confined to the size of a medium sized room = less variety of food — eggs Benedict is a hit or miss — everything else is alright, or even a miss for me — valet/coin parking only — pricey. Yes it’s a buffet, but you pretty much get full after an omelette, which costs about $ 10 at other restaurants! TIPS: — if you’re coming in a large group, make a reservation! It seems as if it’s not needed because there may or may not be a lot of empty seats when you walk in, but it’s nice to call dibs on a table with a beautiful view — just get the omelette. If you do decide to come here. You might as well pass on everything else. — bring cash for valet parking — perhaps bring some extra cash to tip the awesome men making all those omelettes in itty bitty stove tops VERDICT: I most likely will not be coming back. I need to introduce my parents to some better quality breakfast for $ 20+! But they seem to love this restaurant.

When you come here, keep in mind that you are paying for the view. I attended a birthday dinner here and came with pretty low expectations about the food due to the Unilocal reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. Guacamole(4⁄5): it’s pretty hard to mess up guacamole, wish they gave out complimentary chips and salsa though since everything is pricy. Ceviche(3.5÷5): good, solid ceviche. Mussels(3⁄5): these were good, but nothing special. Frutas del Mar(3.5÷5): got this with pasta instead of rice and it was pretty tasty, but not worth $ 40. New York Steak & Shrimp(3⁄5): just your average steak and shrimp, their mashed potatoes are bland. If the prices were lower or the quality of food better I would give Las Brisas a 4/5, but it’s just too expensive for what you get. Great spot for a date night though for those who love watching the sunset.

This review is for their weekday breakfast buffet I was invited by my work mentor to grab some breakfast together. I was surprised I had never been here since I grew up in Orange County and have lived by the beach my whole life. Upon arriving I had to pay for meter parking. Thank goodness they take card. It’s $ 2.50 per hour. They also take quarters. We got seated right by the window. Once seated, we ordered coffee and went to their buffet line to grab our food. It included personalized omelettes, waffles, eggs benedict, sausages, bacon, corn cake, potatoes, crepes, french toast, fruits, pastries, cottage cheese, yogurt, pudding, oatmeal, and muffins. The eggs benedict was good but the egg was overcooked. I enjoyed the crepes, corn cake, and sausages most. All food was pretty good but noting spectacular. I was satisfied and pretty happy with everything. I think its about $ 20 per person for the weekday buffet. Not positive because I didn’t end up paying. Service though was excellent. The guy who served us knew my mentor since he comes in often. The server was extremely nice and kept refilling our drinks. We came early so we got the best view. I suggest coming early if you want a seat right next to their window for a specular ocean view. I believe their breakfast is from 8 – 10:30am. We arrived around 8:15. When we left the restaurant was pretty filled up. I had a lovely time and can’t wait to bring all my love ones here for break or brunch. I hear they have a beautiful patio outside and open for dinner. I would love to come then too. Cannot wait.

A bit conservative but somehow this fits to the place with amazing view and more than delicious food. Try the Frutas de Mare and be save by reserving a table with view in advance.
