Stopped in here for the first time and was very disappointed. The girl working today was very rude and had zero personality and very little knowledge of the wines sold there. All of the wines we sampled were room temperature and we were told that the reasoning for that was because she didn’t want to have to walk back in forth from the back. We asked a couple questions about the wines and she said she didn’t know. The biggest problem we had was my friend and I both drink different styles of wine and both wanted to get a bottle but was told that they could only open one bottle and since they don’t serve their wine chilled, we couldn’t buy a glass. They don’t even have ice so that we could chill ourself. We also bought cheese and had to ask for a knife to cut it. This was before we decide against buying it all because of the bottle policy. She was VERY rude about the whole process and very unprofessional. They only have a small sitting area for 5 people for the cold weather. This could be a good winery if it weren’t for the laziness and lack of professionalism of the staff. The wines were pretty good but we would’ve bought at least 6 bottles had they been served chilled like they are suppose to.

This small, family-run winery is a delightful surprise tucked away near Purdue University. We were also pleasantly surprised that the tasting is FREE and the glass of red we enjoyed was only $ 5. We liked the Prophet’s Rock & Lafayette Red the most. They have some unique wines like Aunt Minnie’s Cherry Tree and Harvest Cranberry made from cranberries. I was disappointed that they were out of their signature wine, the Traminette. We sat outside in the open field on picnic tables & enjoyed probably the last warm day before winter.

This is one of the best wineries I’ve ever been to. It’s small but the wine is wonderful! I just moved away from Lafayette and I’ve not found another winery quite like it. You can try 4 – 5 wines every time you go in and the staff is always so helpful. Their cranberry wine is my absolute favorite wine I’ve ever had. It’s tart, light, and refreshing. Be sure to try it when you go visit!

My fiancé and I enjoy going here, especially when it’s a lovely day to sit outside with some wine. If you’re a pair doing the free tastings, the best idea is for each of you to pick half of the list, and then you can both taste everything. Their wines are good and well-priced. They sell them by the glass and the bottle, and you can open the bottle on the premises and have it re-corked. We always buy at least one bottle at every visit.

These wines are good. :) Most I’ve liked in one place ever. Fair oaks farms cheeses too. Nice seating areas too. The wine server was very sweet and helpful too. Only gripe is that I wasn’t sure where to enter for the wine tasting… barn, house, barn, garage? Maybe they could offer a cheese cracker plate for snack too?

It was nice that the wine tasting was free and a generous glass was only $ 5. Nice area to sit and relax. I’m a sweet wine person though and their selections were just ok. I’ve had better fruit wines, but still tasty!

The Wildcat Creek Winery is a not to be missed destination or a nice stop along your journey. In addition to award winning wines, you get to enjoy the friendly staff and the ambiance afforded by the cozy winery itself. Enjoy a bottle in the sunroom or the arbor when the weather makes that possible. Snack on cheese and crackers available at the winery while you peruse their unique gift items. Great place, great people, great wine!

The wine is quite good, I really liked their Chambourcin. However I knocked off 3 stars because recently I was driving up to Lafayette after work(I live in Indy, so it’s a good drive for me to get up there) for an appointment and wanted to swing by their winery. I saw they closed at 6, but traffic was slow so I called to see if they could stay open 10 min late… they said no! It’s ridiculous that they couldn’t stay open for 10 minutes longer on a FRIDAY night, especially for a customer looking to buy a case of wine. Learn to listen to your customers, or your business will never make it in this age.

I’ve enjoyed their wine tasting each time I’ve been here. The owners & the people who work there are all very welcoming! We usually get the Steuben, Traminette & Aunt Minnie’s Cherry Tree. Great place to go when you have friends visiting from elsewhere because the location is very convenient :)

Wildcat Creek Winery is a small family owned winery in Lafayette, and is very different than the other wineries I have been to in the past. They offer a complementary wine tasting where you can sample any 5 of their about 15 wines. They have a pretty decent selection of wine, from dry to sweet so there is something for every palate. If you wish to purchase wine, it is about $ 5 a glass, and all of the bottles are under $ 20. The winery is the first floor of a small house, that is decorated very simplistically. It is not your typical location or ambiance for a winery, and while that’s okay, I will say it made an impact on my opinion of the winery. The staff here is awesome, and are some of the nicest people I’ve met! Definitely a great group of people. I would have liked to see an area to sit and drink wine, with a small plate menu serving cheese and crackers or something. I think they should expand their location and improve the ambiance. There is so much potential for this place to succeed because it is the only winery in Lafayette, and location is perfect for company since it is right off i-65. Overall though, I did have a positive experience here!

Great winery! Really friendly staff and the wines are wonderful. We prefer dry wine but we ended-up sampling their semi-dry wines also and even a semi-sweet cherry wine that the owner insisted that we try. We enjoyed every wine and bought several bottles including the sweet wine! This winery is worth checking-out. We’ll definitely return.

Mmmm… wine. I love good wine, my definition of what a ‘good wine’ is can change depending on what I’m eating or my mood but generally the descriptor will contain the word ‘dry’. Fortunately Wildcat Creek Winery has me covered — and they’re just a few minutes up the road from us. The building is an older home that’s gorgeous inside — you walk in and see lovely wooden floors and a nicely installed wooden/marble bar. Each time we’ve went, they were happy to offer samples of their wines. The wines range from the ever-present Traminette, to Aunt Minnie’s Cherry Tree — to one newer offerings we were particularly interested in: Cayuga White. Generally we gravitate towards dry reds, but she recommended we give this a try. Mmm. Fruity, not overly sweet, but definitely a semi-dry. We purchased full glasses to ‘interview’ more fully in the sunroom in back(lovely on a sunny, but cold, day!). On one previous visit they were about to close up, but sold us our glasses and encouraged us to enjoy the large porch seating(it was a warm gorgeous day!) and just leave the glasses whenever we were done — and«take your time»! Their wines are under $ 20 a bottle, and we’ve served them to general-wine-drinking company to many smiles and enjoyment =) The setting makes it a nice place to take visiting relatives and friends. There is a highway close by so the only thing is that you may get a little bit of tire swoosh noise if you sit outside. We’ve never found it distracting, we just smile a little broader, drink a little more and laugh a little louder ;)

Great Indiana wine. Love the location of the winery & being able to have a tasting, pay for a bottle or glass, & then sit outside and enjoy it. Lafayette Red is delicious and if you like cherry wine, you will love Aunt Minnie’s Cherry Tree wine.

I remember at first being a little nervous to go in because I’ve never done wine tasting before, but it was free so I thought why not. The owners & the people who work there are all very welcoming & their wines are amazing! I usually get the Traminette, Riesling, Lafayette Red &/or Aunt Minnie’s Cherry Tree. Great place to go when you have friends visiting from elsewhere because the location is very convenient :)

I was really surprised by this little, locally owned winery. The gentleman that lead my through the tasting fantasy of my life was SO knowledgeable! I am a red drinker and I LOVED the Riesling and new«blush» the Stuben. You must try Aunt Minnie’s Cherry Wine. Perfect blend of tart and sweet!

I came for a tasting with a couple friends. The tasting is free and the lady serving us was fantastic. She provided excellent descriptions of all the wines and explanations for the names and flavors. The wine was also delicious. After the tasting, we split a bottle of wine($ 15) and relaxed in their lounge/sun room. The only drawback is the interstate noise. The winery is located right next to I-65 so the roar of traffic is distinct in the sun room and on the grounds. Hopefully they will plant some trees/shrubs along the property line so I can give them the 5th star they deserve. No matter what, I’ll be back.
