I love everything about HCH. I took the hypnotherapy training. It was one of the best gifts I have ever given myself. This place is so holy like Holly :) and will always be close to my heart. Once you enter, you won’t stop learning.

HCH creates an amazing learning environment. Class size is smaller than most other schools. You can spend your entire day sitting in a recliner, which is great for group hypnosis. And the training is spectacular, led by owner Holly Meredith-​Holmes, who has been teaching heart-​based spiritual hypnotherapy since around 1986 in an environment dedicated to hypnosis, (as opposed to a hotel, where another regional hypnotherapy school offers its classes).
Holly brings a lot to her program that you won’t find anywhere else. On top of traditional hypnosis topics like weight loss, smoking cessation and past life regression, as well as the now standard EFT and NLP, you also learn modalities that include sand play therapy (with the world’s largest selection of figurines), bi-​lateral stimulation (which is just like EMDR) and even Shamanism.
Because you practice as both the hypnotist and the client, you receive an amazing amount of personal growth through the training. The results are profound and permanent. Whether you are a beginner at self-​growth or an old-​timer with a tremendous amount of experience like I have, the training will exponentially accelerate your inner process and take you to new levels faster than you ever dreamed possible.
There is also the opportunity to have an onsite internship in HCH’s low fee clinic and see 100 – 200 clients over a six month period. This is a unique opportunity to build your confidence in your skills. And HCH lets you take these clients with you when you start your practice.
Additional certifications are available in Reiki, EFT and Shamanism, and there are a range of weekend courses and monthly meetups to choose from. These are stellar as well.
HCH has created much more than a hypnosis school. It has truly created a hypnosis community that can be a part of your life for the life of your profession. Nothing in this area is comparable.

I have just become a Certified Hypnotherapist through HCH (Hypnosis Clearing House) out in Lafayette, CA, and want to share some of what I experienced there. The facility is quite spacious and includes 3 floors and several rooms where their low-​fee clinic and training practicums are held. The room where the training takes place is indeed like a tree house, surrounded by pine covered mountains in the distance; a place of beauty and comfort.
Holly Holmes-​Meredith has truly created a learning center, offering different psycho-​spiritual trainings such as Reiki, Shamanism, EFT, to name just a few.
For people seeking to become certified in hypnotherapy, the training does not limit itself there. Various other modalities such as EFT, TAT, shamanism, bi-​lateral stimulation, the enneagram, and psychosynthesis are included in the curriculum. We were shown how these techniques mesh well with the practice of hypnotherapy, strengthening the healing process for the client, creating complementary options, deepening and broadening the knowledge base for budding hypnotherapists. There are 4 other teachers besides Holly, all of whom contribute valuable instruction and perspectives: Greg Harper, John Thatcher, Carolyn Rigiero, and David Leong.
The training opens with each participant moving in and out of trance to become familiar with the territory. The scripts and their underlying foundations include learning and teaching self-​hypnosis, past life regression, inner family work, inner child work, working with self-​limiting beliefs, reframing for stop smoking and weight management and much more. The training is based on Milton Erikson’s approach, flexible and personalized. Emphasis is on the client’s participation to engage and empower them in their healing process. The role of the hypnotherapist is as guide and facilitator, supporting the client to access their own answers through hypnotherapeutic consciousness.
Training lasts for 4 consecutive months, 5 days per month. Besides methodology, in-​class demos and practicums (during which participants pair up and take turns being the hypnotherapist and then the hypnotee), there are books to read and out-​of-​class assignments to build experience, familiarity, and confidence. Holly herself is warm and very generous in her teaching style (as are the other teachers). She builds rapport with each individual as well as within the group. I found the training very thorough, comprehensive and felt highly supported throughout.

I took my Reiki training from Holly there. It was a warm and wonderful experience. Love the place. I look forward to taking more classes soon.

The minute I walked into HCH I knew it was a special place. It’s like a magical tree house. The first people to greet you are usually Holly and Paul’s 2 Tibetan Terriers, Sienna and Maya. Holly calls them her Hypno-​Dogesses. Holly and Paul have created an atmosphere of peace and tranquility with their beautiful energy and loving spirits. A feeling of total acceptance, understanding and compassion is what I experience here. With this kind of support anything is possible. The therapy that is worked on here is life transforming. The Hypnotherapy education course that Holly has developed is extremely comprehensive preparing future hypnotherapist to work with any presenting issue. I recommend The Hypnotherapy School to anyone who thinks they may want to explore this profession. You will not get the quality hands on instruction anywhere else. As a graduate of this program and a graduate of the internship program as well, I now have a successful practice seeing clients everyday as a full time Hypnotherapist. I have found my bliss and am eager to share it with everyone.

My introduction to HCH was due to my interest in the Paranormal classes there. I found and still find this subject fascinating. Then due to many uncontrollable issues that I was facing, I was guided into the Hypnotherapy training. What a gift! I have only finished the first level but have gained so much insight not only about myself but as to how people relate in the world. I am experiencing a spiritual awakening that I have longed for. I came into this program for knowledge and personal growth but have decided to finish the training to become a certified Hypnotherapist. Through this not only can I help myself but other people as well.
Holly Holmes-​Meredith, the director at HCH, is one of the most amazing women that I have ever had the pleasure to meet. Not only is she smart but compassionate and sincere. She and her husband Paul work together to make HCH such a special place. Not only are Hypnotherapy and Paranormal classes offered here but training in Dreamwork, Shamanism, Energy, Intuition, and Astrology as well. If you have an interest in any of these subjects, this is the place to go.

highly recommend the programs offered at this school. The programs are many and varied. The service, education and staff are all excellent. I only wish everyone could take the hypnosis course. It would enable them to better understand their own body & mind and how they interact with others and their world around them in a more positive manner. Explore the courses offered at HCH. I feel like i found a new self after spending just 2hrs at this place… I was allowed to become open to life again! I felt very safe there, and Holly and her students were wonderful… Jamie was the most attentive person to me and im so glad to have her in my life !.This place teaches spirituality to a higher level, and i cant wait to learn from them myself… If you are looking into learning, and becoming the best you can be… take these classes, and your sure to be amazed!!! In September 2009 I attended an Open House that is put on at HCH for anyone who is interested in learning more about the different classes that they offer. I was looking for a place where I could learn to connect all my «book knowledge» regarding spiritual growth with my heart. I was immediately struck by the grounded and loving feeling from the teachers and the beautiful surroundings where the classes are taught. Words cannot express all the gifts that I have received from the Hypnotherapy Training that I have just completed. It has been the exquisite response to my prayer. I chose to attend the Hypnotherapy training for my own personal growth and the program far exceeded my expectations. The director of HCH, Holly Holmes-​Meredith, truly embodies the gift of teaching where her knowledge is abundant, captivating, and filled with wonder. Her enchanting presence stirs up and provokes the desire to learn more and more. Her quick sense of humor and thoughtful responses set an inviting tone that made me feel welcomed and valued. All the teachers contributed different aspects in the training and their variety of teaching styles greatly enhanced the richness of the program. HCH is one of those amazing places where you feel at home right away. The location itself is on a small hill surrounded by trees. The effect is as if being in a big treehouse. The shift inward seems to happen instantly.
Director Holly Holmes-​Meredith is what makes the place truly special. Holly is someone who walks her talk. Not only does Holly have many many years of experience in the fields of hypnotherapy and psychotherapy, she also exudes warmth, sincerity, compassion and groundedness. Everything that Holly does comes from her heart, and always in the best interest of her client or student.
