I had a good first experience with them when I ordered my husband’s cake back in February. I had another big event in August that would need 2 large cakes. I called left messages and even emailed her and never heard back, I even called to follow up on my messages and still nothing :-(Bummer because I really liked the cake but why not return a call or respond to an email, even if you were not able to fulfill my order just let me know but don’t leave me hanging! I ended up finding a bakery in Laguna Hills that makes yummy cakes as well.

Called fairly last minute because other cake plans fell threw — super responsive, able to take on the order and fulfilled as planned. Cake was moist, Cookies and cream filling was delicious, we will definitely order from here again!

I have ordered several cakes and cupcakes from the Clever Cake and they are always very delicious. At Holiday time I ordered a dozen mini ginger spiced cupcakes. I actually requested they be specially made and have candied ginger on top. They arrived moist with the perfect amount of frosting and candied ginger on top as I had hoped for. I served them at a Christmas party and they were the first to go! I was actually bummed I didn’t put a few extra aside to have later! I have also ordered a first communion cake from them. It was a vanilla with butter cream frosting and it had a gorgeous sugar crystal decoration on top, again by my request. I have recently ordered a fondant covered birthday cake for my little on and she was very specific in what she wanted it to look like! The other impressive thing about this bakery is that they will deliver to you. Try it out if you have your own idea for a cake or if you just want to browse the website and have them make something special for you. It’s great!

Jennifer did a wonderful job for our kids birthdays — and on short notice. The cake was beautiful and perfectly reflected what we envisioned. Yummy too! Thank you for such great work — looking forward to ordering again. =)

I found Jennifer on Unilocal and the reviews led me to choose her to make a bridal shower cake. She was easy to communicate with and made a beautiful cake that was also delicious. I highly recommend her!

Jennifer was beyond helpful when it came to my last minute party planning! I ordered 1 small cake along with 2 dozen cupcakes. I explained the theme and oh my goodness, not only did it taste amazing they looked absolutely beautiful! I will definitely use Clever Cake again!!!

My wife is an incredible cake maker who uses the best ingredients. We had a birthday party and too much to do, so we tried Clever Cake. We all loved the cake, way beyond what we expected. My daughter had two pieces, she usually has two bites. We had another person who usually has a paper thin slice went back for a second full size slice.
Nothing tastes better than a great scratch made cake!

Moist, yummy and beautiful. Jennifer really came through for me when another cake designer dropped the ball on my order. I called her on Tuesday and Friday my cake was done. Everyone at my husband party commented about how it was one of the best cakes they had ever had including him and he is super picky. It was a chocolate cake with Oreo cream center. I will use jennifer again and recommend her as well.

After having an amazing b-​day cake that was ordered here we decided to place an order for a cake to celebrate our first anniversary. We got the white cake and it was absolutely delicious perfectly moist and icing was prefect, not too sweet and not full of crisco. My wife loved the ombré effect, too! Twice charmed and highly recommended.

My husband is a Superman fanatic and this was the easiest process to order a custom cake and this is hands down the best cake I’ve ever had! We got the triple chocolate and it is delicious and not overpowering at the same time. Her icing is to die for! Highly recommend and there was zero fondant used on this cake per our request :)

The best cupcakes I’ve ever had. The cake was moist and the frosting was light and not too sweet. FANTASTIC! I ordered a few flavors — the spice cake, german chocolate and the lemon. All were delicious and a big hit at my party. Jennifer was great to work with as well.

Jennifer is for sure amazing! I called her on a Monday for a cake I needed for Sat. Between phone calls and emails she made my sons 6^th Birthday day beyond amazing! Her cake taste the BEST I ever had! My son loved it too! I highly recommend them! You will be very happy with your cake!

Jennifer’s cake was beautiful and delicious. My daughter loved her surfboard themed cake. It was so easy to order from Jennifer over email and they had free delivery in Ladera Ranch. I will order from her again for our next occasion.

I absolutely loved the cake that creative cakes made for my baby shower! The cake was delicious and I received so many compliments on it. And the best part was the pricing! I searched all around and couldnt find someone to make the cake I wanted for my budget. I’m definitely going to be using this bakery for all my parties!

I wanted a cupcake cake shaped like a dress for my granddaughter’s lds baptismal day. I contacted Jennifer at The Clever Cake and she was more than happy to make what I had seen online and then to add what my vision was. She delivered the cupcake cake to my daughter’s house and my granddaughter couldn’t have been happier. The cupcake dress cake was more than perfect. She even added little extra touches at no extra cost. It was more than I could have ever expected. My granddaughter could not take her eyes off of the cake. She kept peaking at it and saying how beautiful it was. Then as far as taste, it was delicious as it was beautiful. The children and adults kept going back for more cupcakes all day. The frosting was to die for. Perfect amount of sweetness and the white cupcakes were so moist and delicious. While planning our big party/​wedding we knew we wanted cupcakes instead of an actual cake to top of the day. I love to bake so I’m kinda picky when it comes to desserts because I want to enjoy all the flavors, rather than just the flavor of sugar. We use Unilocal for so many things so we hopped on here to locate a baker and even better, a privately owned business. I contacted The Clever Cake and spoke with Jennifer. She was so friendly and receptive to what our ideas were. We even had samples by the end of the week. Not only was Jennifer a pleasure to meet in person, her cupcakes were AMAZING. They were so cute I didn’t want to eat them but I got past that and enjoyed five of them (over a few days) as my fiancé ate the other 7 (men!). Can’t wait to see her cupcakes on display at our wedding!
Jennifer is very friendly, easy to talk to and very understanding to your schedule. I can honestly and wholeheartedly say these cupcakes are THE BEST I’ve had. They look awesome and taste even better!
Oh, and just for the record you fellow Unilocalers, I did try and get in touch with a few of the other bakers in the area. One told me they could get me samples by the following Monday (gave them my # and told them I lived local) but I heard NOTHING. Another one never e-​mailed me back. Glad I didn’t give up… thank you The Clever Cake!!!
