I used Bobby in the past and even though he was a little off on his original estimate,(and made recommendations for additional work) he completed the job. So I hired Bobby to repair a water heater as the pilot kept going out. BIGMISTAKE ! He originally told me that I needed a new Thermo Pile and that it was covered under warranty. Great so far… He then told me that I would have to pay for the part and shipping and when we returned the old part I would get credited back, but not for the shipping. OK After giving him my credit card information, I received the bill. It was originally around $ 75, but the bill was for $ 106. 2 days later(without hot water) when the part arrived, he went to install it and I received a call from good old Bobby informing me that I would now need a new gas control valve and that was around $ 200, but I really should just replace the entire Water Heater for around $ 1300. *****NOTE: This water heater was still under warranty — as he knew since he got the part — and less than 5 years old and he wants to replace it??? SERIOUSLY??? He told me to contact the company directly and get the part and he would install it. I asked him about getting hot water and he said he re lit the pilot, but it would probably keep go out again and we should just relight it, so he proceeded to give me instructions to re light it, also telling me that I could have my tenant’s 19 year old son do it too. I then called the company to get the replacement warranty part and was told that they could not talk to me as I was NOT the homeowner. WHAT??? Who was? Apparently, Bobby had himself put down as the homeowner and I had to have him call the company and straighten that out. Finally, when the company would talk to me, they said they would NOT send any more parts as then never got the readings from the manifold and supply pressure to verify the parts were faulty — SOMETHINGTHATBOBBYDIDNOTDO(as he doesnt have the proper tools to do the reading) ANDSOMETHINGTHATTHECOMPANYSAIDSHOULDBEDONEBEFOREANYWORKSTARTS. Hummmmmmmmmm… Why didnt you know THAT Bobby??? Also, that Bobby had not bought a Thermo Pile like he told me, but bought a Pilot Assembly??? I then called a BONDED and LICENSED(please note this statement as it will be important) plumbing company to look at it the next day. Side note: We are now 5 days with intermittent hot water. That night I went to relight the pilot again and about a minute after it was lit — BOOM… A nice little fire started and then went out. I HAVE A PICTUREIFANYONEWANTSTOSEEIT I called Bobby to tell him what happened and he mumbled some excuse that he didnt want to complete the job and that I never should have tried to light the pilot. Then denied ever telling me to relight it.(I HAVEALLTHETEXTMESSAGESBACKANDFORTHFROMHIMFORTHEPENDINGLAWSUIT) When the LICENSED and BONDED plumber came out the next morning, they said that the fire fried the inside and now the water heater had to be replaced, that no repair could be done. Additionally, the pilot should have never been re-lit as the Burner was never reconnected — which was the cause of the fire starting! NICEGOINGBOBBY!!! I called Bobby and relayed this information and again he denied ever saying to relight the pilot and it was not his fault the burner was not hooked up.(WHO’S FAULTWASITTHEN, SINCEYOUWERETHEONLYONEWORKINGONIT)??? I asked Bobby for the name and policy number of his insurance company as I wanted to submit a claim to them and he said he would call them Monday. Monday came and I asked him for the information again and he said that I was a low character and would probably lie to his insurance company so he was NOT going to give me the information. I asked him again and he said to stop calling him. He then ignored my call’s and texts. DOYOUEVENHAVEINSURANCEBOBBY??? At the end of the day, what was to be a simple $ 200 job ended up costing me over $ 1300 — THANKSTOBOBBY. Looking back, trying to save a few bucks certainly was not worth the hassle of using Bobby. **** The LICENSED and BONDED plumber charges a $ 79 service call, which is then applied to the repair and is connected with the water heating company so they could have got the part necessary without all the trouble I had to go through having Bobby do it. FINALLY: I was able to contact him via text and asked him what happened to the old part that he was supposed to return to the manufacturer so I can at least get a credit for the part and he told me that he did what he was supposed to do(Whatever that meant). I STILLHAVENOTRECEIVEDANYCREDITONMYCARD!!! Where is that part Bobby??? Maybe it is with your Insurance Policy?

Had a gate that had to be repaired. I believed the entire post needed to be replaced on my old fence. Bobby looked at the post and came up with another solution(less expensive), Bobby quoted me what I thought was a fair price. The Service was excellent. Bobby did the job the same day, very professional and not too expensive. I will be calling him again.

I needed my water heater repaired and quickly realized how much money most places were quoting me, they also came off kinda rude to me like I was just another customer to process. Then luckily I found Bobby’s Handyman listing and gave him a call for a quote, WOW, I couldn’t believe it could be that inexpensive! Bobby was also very nice and friendly, courteous when he was at my house performing the work, and he was also very timely and fast! All in all with parts and labor I saved over $ 400 compared to what the other guys quoted me(and they probably would have charged me even more once they were finished with the job). Now I have a perfectly working water heater and I know just who to call for my future handyman projects.
