Burger tasted nice and tender. Service was excellent, with just the right amount of communication from the server without getting annoying. Plus the server was very knowledgable.
Took off one star because it was a very thick white bread bun which robbed the burger of a lot of its flavor. The vinegar slaw was way too strong and tart.
Overall though, this is a very good restaurant.

4 stars for the food. 1 star for the service. I ordered a sandwich, potato salad, and beans. The girl asked me if I wanted a drink and I asked how much it cost. She did it came with the meal.
When I picked up my dinner my total was over $ 13. For a sandwich and sides! I asked why and asked how much the things were. She told me the soda was $ 1.99 now bcuz I ordered a full sandwich instead of a half. (No clue on how or why that’s the rule). I told her to keep the drink, that I would just grab something at home. Instead of taking it off the bill she told me she had already poured it and couldn’t take it back. So instead of her ditching a fountain soda that cost them less than a dime she made me buy it. Now, I’m not dumb, I could have just walked out and saved $ 13+ but I like their food so I went ahead and paid for all of it. I worked in the restaurant industry for over 15 years and I’ve seen both sides of this coin. I only hope that the girl at the register realizes that to keep a customer sometimes you have to ditch a drink or two. I will continue to order from there but I’ll never be «forced» to buy another $ 2 soda I really don’t want.

I love bison burgers, so I was extremely excited to come across this place.
Their bison burgers are AMAZING! Bison is not cheap, so by the time you add cheese, bacon and sweet potato fries, you’re looking at about a $ 16 burger meal… maybe a once a month treat.
My gripe… I called my order in to go. Came about 10 min AFTER they said it would be ready, then still waited about 10 more min. Zzzzzz

The food is way over priced for the quality. Service was ok, but she knew she was having a bad day and apologized for forgetting everything. The tables weren’t clean. My chicken salad sandwich was bland and the pasta salad was literally just tri-​color pasta-​no flavor/​seasoning or dressing at all. However, my husband loved his sandwich-​the New Yorker. I was really disappointed after all the recommendations for this place!

This place is the best sandwich place. The southwest club on sourdough with jalapenos was the first sandwich I ever ate there. (hard to describe how good it was, just don’t leave part of it in your fridge or your wife will sneak bites every few minutes after she finishes hers) I tried one other, the new Yorker, fantastic too but for my side I still got a southwest club.

La Vernia’s hidden treasure! The burgers will be the best you’ve had. Actually, everything I’ve had there is amazing. Very casual. The Cobb salad and the Italian mob sandwich are amazing too! Best place in La Vernia. One of the best in the SA area!

Holy WOW on the sandwiches! Amazingly very high quality of meats and bread make the sandwiches an unexpected surprise in a small town. Best Rueben EVER! Service was efficient, she was not too friendly, but efficient. Great sweet fries, pasta salad, and fries– super yummy.

Love love love Joes. Eat there regularly. The chicken salad is the best ever! The staff is great too.

The sandwiches are a culinary delight. Made from scratch sandwich spreads, Boar’s Meats, fresh breads, reasonable prices and a full meal deal.

Great burgers. Chicken sandwich is delicious aka Chickie Chick. Pasta salad is good too. Fried pickles have a good flavor too. Only downfall is there are too many flies.

This is the best place to eat in LA Vernia. The food is fresh and the bread is made from scratch. I got the salad and it was amazing. Sean was our waiter and he went the extra mile in providing us tips on what to order and he was an excellent waiter.

There burgers are to die for.
There sandwiche selection is awesome and the wait staff are very good.
Place seems to be a great spot to hit up when your hungry anytime of the week.
So try it.
You wont be dissapointed.

Absolutely delicious. Had the turkey jack and the cayenne lime mayo on it was amazing. I haven’t had anything bad yet.

Stopped here on a whim. Wanted to eat light so I begrudgingly skipped the recommended burgers and got a spinach salad… and a grilled cheese. Both were great! A homemade dressing came with the salad and the grilled cheese was on homemade bread. That was very energetic and family. Great little outside patio but passing by traffic and parking is a little noisey.

Best. Sandwiches. Ever.
Local independent deli. Great service. Overwhelming menu (in the best way possible).

Love Love Love. La Vernias little shining star! Great food! The club is amazing, the cheese steak is amazing, the burger is amazing! For an appetizer I love their Jalapeño bottle caps. Yum! Not to mention the fun staff. Love this place.

A specialty sandwich shop off of US Highway 87 just inside La Vernia, Texas. The building’s not much to look at from the outside but the food more than makes up for it. Top quality food for a slightly higher price compared to some of the local eateries. Had to give it $$ because the sandwich plus beverage will cost you about $ 12 or so.
This place has a spicy Rueben to die for!
