Sorry place is closed and a pretty good Peruvian has taken its place. Check review under Caral Peruvian Grill opened Aug19, 2012. Hope Connolly’s shows up somewhere.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!! Closed :-( Seriously gutted. Loved this place — hope they resurface somewhere else… there’s no where else nearly as good around here… :-(

The fish and chips were good, but breaded too thickly. The bangers and mash were good. But my biggest complaint was that everything is fried, no variety. After lunch you’ll feel sick from all the fried food. They need to diversify the menu a lot more. It’s good but not great. If you’re looking for fish and chips with a couple of bangers then it’s a good place to stop, but it’s hard to recommend this as a stop for a family with such a slim amount of choices. And nothing if you don’t like fried food. The owners were great btw and the service was nice.

Im not saying that they JUST taste like canned peas ‚… they are canned peas… thats obvious. Im sorry but I hate to see a bad food place get good reviews… its just wrong. Im talking as an Irish person brought up on Irish food… this is terrible food. so if you are going to dispute my review. the least i can do is defend my review Thanks

In my honest opinion better than the previous establishment Mr Fish and Chips. The chips were just as described golden crisp outside fluffy inside. The fish was a huge piece of cod with a nice crispy batter. I also had the bangers and champ which was my first time ever having bangers(always wanted to since I have a thing for British shows) was pretty delicious. Bangers are like fried sausages and champs are mashed potatoes with green onions mixed in. I’ll probably be back. Oh and for our take away order the bags had four leaf clovers punched into them for air holes pretty awesome touch~ Thank you Trainspotting for giving me the mad munchies for Fish and Chips or else I probably would have postponed this first visit for sometime… I really hope this business success but just like Taste of Asia they have the misfortune of opening in La Verne where all businesses die D: Good luck~

I came here today and I must say I was slightly disappointed with the fish and chips. the batter made it seem like I was going to get a huge piece of fish, it was thinly sliced and the fish was small. It wasn’t really seasoned so the taste was a bit bland. Service was great, the owners were very nice and we had a nice little conversation about our experiences in England. I would come again because of the service.

I’ve been here a few times and it always reminds me of traveling to Europe. Friendly service, great specialty food, and reasonable prices… plus the owner/host was very welcoming to my two kids.

Ok so I decided to try this place again. Got the large banger and champ(mashed potatoes with green onion) which came to $ 6.50~ after tax… good deal imo. The champ is obviously house-made…very thick and tons of it for my order(it blankets the to-go box at least an inch thick!) The banger though… WOW! Coming from someone with German blood in him that enjoys his brats and sausages, this thing is easily the best I’ve ever had… and I am NOT exaggerating! Next time I’ll try out the banger sandwich… the fish is just going to have to wait!

Love this place. Its plan and simple Irish food. Fish and chips, bangers and cham, not much more you can ask for. The servings are large, the prices are good and the food is made fresh.

I live nearby and noticed this restaurant a while ago. I finally took the time to give it a try and was not disappointed. I stuck with the basics and tried the fish and chips and the irish stew. The fish and chips were great. I haven’t had any that were quite as good in a very long time. The irish stew was also fantastic. Contrary to a previous review, I found the stew to be thick, hearty and flavorful, and the cup was only $ 3.50. The bowl of stew is $ 5 and comes in a bread bowl with soda bread on the side. The environment is casual and the service was friendly. This is an absolute welcome addition to my neighborhood. I will definitely be going back often.

I you want some proper fish and chips, you’ll find nowhere better. The fish is always fresh and cooked just right. If you ever manage to find a cold day in La Verne then their stew is basically the most perfect food you’ll find. Add to this always good service, very clean and and friendly atmosphere, and a price that won’t make you wince(always important in this economy) and you’ve got one of my favorite places to eat. Can’t wait to hit there up again and try out some of the other foods!

Very good fish and chips. I liked best: cute little ice cream sundaes with flavors like Irish cream, Guinness, and Whisky butterscotch. Batter does not spare the black pepper — a plus. Very nice people run the place. Talk up Dr. Who and you will be an instant friend. Also Irish grocery items if you’re looking for HP sauce or real deal oatmeal. I’ll definitely have to return and try the Irish stew.

Although I have visited Great Britain multiple times in my past, I have never had their fish and chips or experienced any Irish cuisine. Yet, in Connolly’s Kitchen, you seem to be immersed in the culture of the couple immediately. I asked Mrs. Connolly what a banger was(an Irish sausage apparently), and ended up ordering a wondrous fish and chips combo. The cod smelled like the ocean it was so fresh, and it was a generous portion for the price might I add. The ambiance is personal, and I felt like I was dining with old friends. Everything from the homemade scones to the archaic, yet colorful map of Ireland really makes this kitchen feel alive. Even the condiments like the Vinegar are authentic and make this place really pop. Owned my some great people, knowledge about current events and agricultural science, this Kitchen is someplace everyone should try at least once! If you are from La Verne or Pomona you should have made at least a few stops here when you can!

We have been wanting and looking for REAL fish and chips. I stumbled upon this place by accident(next door to a nail place) Later I brought the family for dinner… it was AMAZING!!! Super friendly, super clean, super good! They had malt vinegar, and HP :) They also have a little«for sale» area and they had key lime marmalade(yippy) Already looking forward to going back!

Wife and I stopped here for a bite, after hearing about it. It’s a bit tucked away in the back corner of a shopping center, but well worth the look to find! We always yearn for the taste’s and flavors from the old country. Had their staple fish and chips as a first try here, and it was very good! Hot, fresh cod, not frozen, and homemade chips, not bagged frozen units. Very hospitable folks, and we will be heading back soon to sample more from their menu of very tasty loooking items!

Goodbye Mr Fish and Chips, hello Connolly’s Kitchen. Probably the best Irish eatery in the area not to mention a fresh much needed change in La Verne. A must have would be the sausage sandwich«make sure to order it with mustard and HP sauce» also a must have is the JD sandwich, rashers«Irish bacon» grilled onions, HP sauce, and cheese. And of course who would have guessed fish and chips. The owners Paul and Wendy are pretty cool as well. If you are tired of the same old crap of Mexican, Italian, or Asian then break the mold and try something different. This is definitely the place to go for locals or someone passing through, you won’t be disappointed.
