Got great service on a few treasured vintage watches & a clock too! Prices are reasonable on repairs & for battery replacement. Honest man with good work ethic. I’d trust him with my heirloom time pieces.

This small watch shop is located on D Street near Warehouse Pizza. It’s been around about 15 years. I took one of my watches here to be serviced. The proprietor, Nick, was nice and helpful and told me that my watch would be done in 5 – 10 business days. As I pulled out my debit card to pay, I was told the machine wasn’t working today. No problem, I wrote a check instead. Nick told me he’d give me a call when the watch was ready. less I was back in La Verne about a week later and thought I’d stop by just to see if the watch was ready. The store wasn’t open, even though I arrived during posted business hours. I wasn’t really annoyed until day 10 arrived and still no call about the watch. So I called… and found that the number was no longer in service. I went back to La Verne a few more times(5 to be precise) and EACH time I went to the store during business hours, it was closed. Finally, I journey number 6 it was open and, after talking with Nick, I was told my watch needed 5 more days to be serviced. Ok, now I was annoyed. After waiting 5 more days(and still no call) I went back one last time(during business hours, of course) and guess what? It was closed. So, I looked through the window, saw someone in the back office, and started knocking on the window. No answer, of course. After a few minutes of this, I was ready to leave, when Nick walked up from somewhere. He let me in, and I retrieved my watch. As I needed a new battery in another watch, I had that replaced since I was there and lo and behold… the credit card machine still wasn’t «working.» Now, I get it that businesses don’t like paying high fees to the credit card companies, but if you advertise that you accept credit cards, accept the credit cards! Anyway, as I left the shop and put on my watch, I thought to myself that this shop must be patronized by a small, select group of retired people who have all the time in the world to hang out in downtown La Verne wating for a business to open during its posted hours. Overall, I think Nick really knows what he’s doing with watches(how else could you survive with such thoughtless customer service), but his selection fo watches is minimal and the hassle of actually getting your watch seems to negate this for me.
