Super cute place with the nicest people! Great service and the pizza was really good. Loved the crust on the pizza. If we ever make it back to the island we will for sure stop back here! Good ice cream on a hot day!

Growing up this is the place I remember coming to with my whole family whenever we were sailing. We would get pizza sometimes but I’d go for their ice cream every single day during vacation and get either the blue moon or the superman. This place will always be one of my absolute favorite memories and I hope that it never closes so that I can one day take my kids to try the silly ice cream flavors as well!

If there was a way to write a zero review I would. Susan’s son thew my daughters change back at her, because the family has a problem with Native American people. Last dollar I will ever spend in that racist establishment! And no my daughter and her year old son were not disrespectful in any way. Rude people and the food is not very good.

My wife and I had the omelet for breakfast and it was fabulous. The toast was also very unique and excellent. The service and conversation were great too. Very friendly place. We’ll be back.

Had breakfast here and was pretty disappointed. I had the breakfast sandwich while my girlfriend had some sort of platter. Both dishes were very bland and on the greasy side. Service was OK.

You have to take this place for what it is: a family restaurant in the middle of a small, laid-back tourist town. Emphasis on «laid-back.» Most of the time nobody above the age of 18 is manning the front of the restaurant; whoever owns the place has absolutely no problem letting the kids take meal orders and hand out ice cream. If you’re looking for more of a fancy dining experience, look down the street. I must say that if I’m ever going to eat here, I always get the Garlic Burger. It’s seriously one of my favorite burgers. Two patties, plus lettuce, tomatoes, olives, and garlic sauce all between two pieces of garlic bread. It’ll keep you satisfied for quite a while, especially if you and a friend grab a basket of crinkle-cut fries to go with that.

While visiting Madeline Island we had a wildly different experience than the other reviewers. The place appears to be run by teenagers, with one tired, worn out older woman wondering around in the back. Maybe she is Grampa Tony’s wife? I don’t know. What I do know is that the Tony Burger tasted pretty good, however, it spent very little time in me before it was coming out the other end quite violently. Unfortunately, there was no toilet paper in the bathroom, and I didn’t realize that until the show had already begun. So I had to pull em’ up and go out to the counter and wait for a teenager to acknowledge my presence and ask for more TP. The girl I spoke to seemed pretty scatter brained and it took quite a long time for the poor sucker she sent in there to refill the toilet paper dispenser right after I had blown it up. When he was done I went right back in for round 2. I spent the rest of my visit on Madeline Island having to make sure I was nearby a bathroom at all times. Thanks Grampa Tony’s!

this is one my favorite restaurants. No, not just a restaurant an experience. i am biased. i love Madeline Island. it is always the place i would rather be. this is a 5 star restaurant, it is a burger /pizza/ice cream shop. it will allow you to make some family/friend memories of your own. some of my fondest memories are scarfing a garlic burger with friends and family on the top deck outside overlooking the Lake. Go for the Island, enjoy it, experience it, then seek sustenance by way of the delicious garlic burger and fries. Thank me later.

I’ve only had the ice cream here, & I thought it was amazing.

Pizza is average. A little heavy on the sauce and the slices are a bit floppy for my taste. However, the Garlic Cheeseburgers are worth every penny and merit at least two visits per trip to the island: one trip mid visit and other before the ferry ride home so I have something to eat along the way.
