Experience it! We’re regulars. Still working our way through the menu. Every visit has been STELLAR. The manager Rudy is awesome.

I’ve been going to Mr. V’s for years now and can’t believe I haven’t written a review yet! It’s a great place to watch a game in the bar area, plus they have good beers. Their dinner specials are amazing! I’ve had the chicken skewers before, which were HUGE in portion and great! On my last visit, I had the prime rib and YUM it was excellent. My boyfriend had a fettuccine carbonara and he really enjoyed it. Our meals came with a soup or salad. He had the clam chowder, and I had the salad. They were both just okay. The stars of the meal were definitely the entrees. The prime rib was nicely seasoned, not too rare, and the au jus was fantastic. The mashed potatoes were awesome, very smooth and a nice portion of it too. The meal also came with a side of vegetables, which were fine, nothing too special. I do appreciate it when restaurants serve complimentary bread before the meal, and theirs were excellent! Freshly baked and served with butter. So good! Take advantage of their dinner specials, they’re a great deal! I guess the review is missing a star because our waitress on our last visit was virtually MIA. We aren’t high maintenance customers, but I had to ask other waiters for more water, and even a bus boy came by with my takeout box. He was so kind! I really wanted dessert(my BF and I were celebrating our 3 year anniversary) for the occasion but it took her a while to come around so we decided on no dessert. Sure, it’s in what people call the«ghetto» side of La Mirada, but you would never know from the inside. The décor is dated and it’s sort of dark, but it’s the perfect place for a date or a special occasion. I’m looking forward to many other occasions at Mr. V’s, it really is what La Mirada needs!

OMG… Had the most wonderful experience tonight at Mr. V’s. Our First time visiting this spot. Today was My 55th Birthday, I found it on Unilocal by accident and So pleased we did. Amazing service and food. The Four of us left happy and full. I had the Shish kabob My Hubby had the Pork Chops(biggest & Tender) chop We’d ever seen. Jim had Rack of ribs(very tender) the meat fell off the bone. Donna had Fish & Chips which Looked beautiful. Fresh sour dough Bread on the table As soon as we sat down. The place was full on a Thursday evening but we had reservations so they immediately showed us to our table. We couldn’t of had a better time, from start to finish!

$ 34 for a small filet. Ordered medium rare cool center. I got black on the outside grey on the inside. Soooo over cooked. Dry and tuff. Really ruined a steak by overcooking. They are good at bread and butter but the steak sux. One would think that a place that advertises itself as a steak house would know the difference between medium rare and well well well done. Shrimp cocktail was very good. Help was very friendly but appeared understaffed. Running around like crazy. Forgot the soup. Had to ask for silver. Valet had trouble finding my key. Not my best visit to Mr V. For about the same money, go to like a Ruth’s Chris where they offer prime beef cooked to order.

Aromatic shrimp! Kung Pao chicken, sea bass, etc. etc. Everything here is delicious at Mr. V’s, except for the honey walnut shrimp. Stay away from that. Anyway, the beers are ice cold, the ambiance is dark and intimate albeit perfect location for a business lunch. I would love to give that 5th star but parking can be tight & crowded. Only way around that is to valet. Love that there’s a bar/tvs on one side & dining room on the other. In an industrial area as its in, this place is a hidden gem. Don’t forget the Andes mints when you leave.

I took my mom and fiancée here before we went to a play/musical at the La Mirada Theater for the Performing Arts on Dec 17, 2015. I looked here on Unilocal and mostly positive reviews. From the moment we walked in, everything was incredible! They had our reservation, a friendly hostess took us immediately to our table amongst a bustling restaurant filled with patrons.(I hate empty restaurants.) The vibe was upbeat and festive. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and did not try to upsell us to pricer options that we might not have liked as much. I got the pork chop which was one of the most delicious, juicy pork chops I have ever eaten! My mom got the salmon and fiancée got the jambalaya with pasta. All three dishes were delicious. Service promo and courteous. The freshly baked sour dough bread was also amazing. I am sad that we had to rush due to the impending play, as I would have liked to savor this meal, atmosphere and company and maybe even tried a dessert. I would definitely recommend it and if we ever go to another play at the Performing arts center will be back for sure. Everything A+ from start to finish.(Valet was a little slow but he was totally swamped.) Ps. Valet is free upon arrival but be sure to tip!

All the food here is fabulous! We had pasta carbinara(perfect, not greasy, delicious), kung pao chicken(seasoned perfectly, tender chicken), four cocktails, delicious warm sour dough bread, all for less that $ 75! How does that happen? Mr. V’s is our new go-to place — we want to try several things on the menu that look great, including the rack of lamb and the baby back ribs. See you soon Mr. V!

Benn to Mr. V’s several times. The food is impeccable. You can not beat the flavor of their prime rib. The drinks are big and strong, a little $$ but worth the money. The bar side can get loud at times. I gave them a 4 because one time when coming with a large group of co-workers after work we were told to be quite. I could understand if we were being loud, but we were just laughing and chatting. All in all, I will be back as the food and service is always great.

5 stars for great service and attention to details! Came here to have a late lunch with my boyfriend’s family. It was actually my bday too so Bf’s mom gave me gifts to open. Ok, it was just a gift bag and I actually had the bag under the table, not visible to anyone at all. There were only 5 of us and it’s not like we let the whole restaurant know it was my bday… Anyways. We went on to eating our meals. I ordered ribeye steak which was very tasty. Love the grilled corn on the side! Bf got the filet mignon. His aunt got Kung Pao Chicken(ikr, i was surprised too she ordered chinese in a steakhouse lol). She really loved it though :) Make the long story short… Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. Pretty much solid 4 stars!!! Here comes what made it a 5 star for me… We were all full so no more room for dessert. We asked for the check and our server came back with a plate of dessert with candles and happy birthday on it. We all looked at each other to find out who told him because nobody said a word to him or got up and asked him to bring out a surprise mini cake/dessert. He finally told us that he saw me opened a gift! I really appreciated that gesture. I think that was a nice little touch. But even without that, the service was excellent! He made sure we got everything we needed but without interrupting us every 2 seconds! Totally recommend this place! Thank you Mr. V’s!!!

Horrible Horrible Service! Okay am sitting in Mr. V’s now. I ordered the Shrimp and Scallops with baked potato and veggies. My friend ordered a Ceasar Salad with Chicken. The food was delicious, but have been here an hour… The waitress did not check on us once. Did not bring bread and butter to the table. I noticed the couple in the next booth had the same problem. He called the waitress twice for service, she walked off in the other direction. The gentleman got up from his booth, went to the bar to get his own drink! Really??? As we were leaving the resturant the Hostess told another customer«Yes, we have a booth we were just waiting for them to leave!!!» Really??? A $ 60 meal tab and you can’t wait for us to leave? Good way to free up a booth, give bad wait service! WOW!!! In all probability will return because of the food. But seriously! The resturant is only half full, it is early, not like the waitress was real busy! :( Bad service killed the vibe!

1. We stumbled upon Mr. V’s on the way to the La Mirada Center for the Performing Arts. They got us in quickly and out in time for our show. 2. Delicious bread! So soft and warm. 3. The chicken marsala was quite tasty! 4. The chicken fettucini alfredo was very good! 5. The staff was attentive but left us alone to enjoy our food. 6. We enjoyed the dark, old-school«faux fancy» décor. 7. We are hoping to go back soon and try their steaks when we have more time to enjoy them properly.

A friend at work brought me and my husband there before going to La Mirada Theatre and the experience was great! Staff are really friendly and the food is beyond nice. We ordered the CHARREDPORKCHOP and it was awesome! The meat is juicy and I guess the meat was marinated before so the taste is wonderful. Will definitely recommend to other friends!

I suggest making reservation in advance. Also, valet parking is available AND is free — so take advantage of it. I also saw a mix of people dressed in casual/business casual/formal dress, so for attire, I guess it really depends on what you’re going to this restaurant for. We came here with a group of people for a friend’s birthday. They walked us to our seats promptly and served us water immediately. We ordered two appetizers to share + each of us got a glass of wine and an entrée. The bill came out to be ~$ 450 to split among 9 people. I really liked the entrée I got, shrimp and scallop on skewers. That was a plate with 4 shrimps, 4 scallops, grilled tomato, and boiled veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and a side of mashed potatoes. For the birthday surprise, they served our birthday girl a plate of panna cotta with a «Happy Birthday» message and a candle :)

Disappointed. This WAS one of my favorite restaurants, but the manager came to our large family, celebrating great grandmothers birthday and hushed her great grand child. The bill was over $ 800.00, shame on you Mr. Vs manager. She may have disturbed other costumers for a short time, but to very rudely hush a child in front of everyone, embarrassing the parents is NOT your place or good business. Offer the complaining customers a free drink or something, but don’t hush a child. It may not have been the type of restaurant to bring a small child, but great grandmothers wishes was to have her family around her while eating at her favorite restaurant. Most unfortunate.

Melissa, our server, was a-m-a-z-i-n-g! The service was impeccable. The food was delish. The owner came by at the conclusion of our meal to say hello. Place wasn’t packed so it was intimate and quiet. Food recommendations: Appetizers: shrimp cocktail-huge & fresh $ 14.95 Calamari: cooked perfectly, lightly battered, seasoned well, great sauce $ 12.95ish, I think Chinese chicken salad: it was great and had good dressing. $ 13.95 Entrées: rib eye: recommended… winner. $ 32.95 Halibut: perfection… nothing more to say. $ 32.95 Filet mignon & shrimp: good meat and shrimps were delicious and big and cooked perfectly. $ 39.95 Chicken picata: eh, decent but didn’t love it. Too saucy. $ 20 something maybe Chicken tenderloins over linguini: mushroom cream sauce too rich and too thick and way too saucy. $ 20 something maybe $ 10 glass of wine Overall, everything was great. We will be back again and again. Perfect for family dinners and date night. One thing I would like to gripe about: no kids menu. My kid ordered a $ 40 filet mignon cause he has no teeth right now(he is 8 y/o) and that’s about the best cut of meat for tender-needs. What happened to $ 10 chicken tenders? That’s my only complaint.

This restaurant was recommended to me by my Client and he loves to eat so I figured that place would be really good. We arrive at Mr. V’s and the first thing i notice was the horrible parking. If you have a large truck good luck finding a space because all the spots are compact. When you walk in it you are greeted by there hostess and shown to your table. Now there were quite a few business customers in there so this place has to be good. We sit down in this booth and I am looking around at the décor and really dark, the walls are painted really dark red & brown colors and the theme was like a steakhouse but it was just a little weird for me. Didn’t seem very inviting. Our server comes over an asks for drinks we order some Ice tea and Lemonade. My client and I look over the menu and of course they have to many choices and like a little of everything. I asked the server for a recommendation but she didn’t really sell us on anything. Nothing that she mentioned sounded good so I just ordered a Prime Rib Dip sandwich. I figured you can’t mess that up and I won’t get sick at least and my client order the Salmon dish. While we were waiting for our lunch order the server came over a few times and gave us our free refills which was nice. She was Johnny on the spot with her service. We were happy. A few minutes later we received our lunch. Now we i looked at my sandwich I was a little confused by the plating of the dish. It seemed disjointed. On the plate I had a Prime Rib sandwich cut in half, french fries, a dill pickle, a huge slice of watermelon and a small cut of cantaloupe cut very close to the rind. Pretty much uneatable. Maybe it looked nice as a garnish. I take a bite of my sandwich and the meat doesn’t taste or look like Prime Rib. It completely had no flavor. It needed salt and pepper or something. It was f-ing bland. It looked like the meat you would get from the grocery store and it was over done. The idea behind this sandwich is that you dip it in the dripping from the meat but my drippings were really thin and didn’t have any flavor so most likely it didn’t come from the meat at all and from a can. I really don’t like complaining but this sandwich was $ 18 bucks and it was a soggy mess. I mean why even give me dripping sauce when the bun is already drenched. I don’t know if you all have ever eaten a soggy sandwich but it’s F-ing nasty. I would say that Subway or Togo’s has a better French Dip sandwich then this place and their’s is $ 6 bucks. As far as my clients meal he said he liked it and maybe i should have picked a better item but seriously if you can’t make a Prime Rib sandwich which is only meat and bread then shut your business down. I probably would never come back to this place again because I feel like I got ripped off. Never again! Thanks, Matthew Y.

I’m kind of conflicted about this review. Different aspects of Mr. V’s are fantastic and others are in need of improvement. I’ll start with what I’m always happy with. I’m a fan of their food. I particularly like their prime rib. I usually order the 22 oz. portion and split it with the bf. They cook it to a delicious perfection. The seasoning is very tasty and not overly salty. The meat is so tender I can cut it with a butter knife. The mild horseradish and au jus for dipping are excellent, but not even necessary. The prime rib comes with two sides. I almost always order creamed spinach when offered at restaurants. Theirs is pretty good. I also like their fresh veggies, however, they are cooked with butter. I have also had their halibut and it was good, but the prime rib is leaps above. For dessert, I have had their panna cotta, crème brûlée, and cheesecake. All are good classics to choose from if you have room. The dinning room lends itself to romantic dates. I usually come here before a night at the local theatre or for a birthday. They have spacious booths with tall seats, which makes them pretty private. The table vases always have fresh flowers as well. That’s a nice touch. You would never be able to tell that the restaurant is located on a busy street corner of a strip mall. This leads me to things that I’m not so crazy about. The location is very lacking. Over the past year they have been renovating the strip mall from the dilapidated mess it had been. But it’s still next to a gas station in a strip mall. On to service. The host desk seems incompetent sometimes. They have a private online reservation system and they don’t sync it with the manual host reservation book very often. If you made a reservation earlier the same day, they might have a record of it when you arrive that evening. Sometimes they also don’t pay attention to or can’t hear the names they are given over the phone, so they just use the caller ID, which isn’t good if that person isn’t you. They couldn’t find our reservation on Friday until I looked at their book and realized what happened. That’s when the hostess told us that’s what they do. Not cool. The wait staff is usually pretty good. I had one waiter two separate times who isn’t very attentive or friendly like the others. A manager always comes to our table to check on us during dinner, which I appreciate. One last note; Mr. V’s is the only nice restaurant in the city of La Mirada. Although there are things that need improvement, I will still be coming here, because there are enough things that make it nice. And of course their prime rib.
