They’ve been sending a very expensive heavy stock/glossy 8×11 direct mail piece that says«15% off.» I can only believe this mailer was created to run the business at a loss or they have an untalented nephew doing marketing for them. No specials to get people in the door. The«wine» selection has photos of Tisdale. Whoever put together that mail piece really ripped off the owners of this market.

Untill last night I was always«ok» with this store. The husband was always friendly enough. Not overly friendly but definetly not rude. Then last night happened. I was coming home from work and stopped in to get a pack of ciggerettes and I had to deal with the lady. Who was rude and acted very suspicious of me.(mind you I am there at least three times a week after work and always come in wearing my chef coat and apron still, unless there’s a epidemic of chef bandits robbing small liquor stores, I could look less suspicious) I let it go. Then when I got home I couldn’t find my wallet. Being as that was the last place I went, I went in to ask if I left it there, the wife was extremely rude, told me she was to busy to look, THEREWASONLYONEOTHERCUSTOMERWHOWASSTILLBROWSING, I asked again and she flat out told me no. Then the husband sheepishly stepped up and looked for me, only to be what seems like berated by his wife in Chaldean for helping me. Turns out I dropped my wallet outside the store and was lucky to recover it. But the point was still, the rudest, most inconsiderate customer service I’ve ever seen. I manage a kitchen and would never allow one of my employees to act like that to a customer. The only reason they get two stars is because of the husband who seemed like he risked castration by helping me, helped me. Regardless I’ll never be back.

This is a great market. They’ve made some really good changes to the store in the last year and the wife makes the most AMAZING cakes you’ve ever seen or eaten. Their deli is clean and sandwhiches are really fresh.

This place is pretty much a hole in the wall liquor mart/convenience store. Nothing too fancy but it is located next to a NY Giant Pizza so that’s a plus. The liquor selection is pretty decent and the staff is extremely nice and helpful. It does seem a little small and cramped but it isn’t too bad. I went in there just to see if they had the Brutul Black & Tan Turtle or some similar pouring spoon for making Snakebites or Black & Tans and all three people got involved and tried to help me. Ultimately they didn’t have it(nobody does locally so I had to order it online) but I was impressed with how friendly the staff was.

I like this place, the employees are nice and seem happy. I come here for lotto tickets and drinks. Dunno if I would buy packaged food here. no idea how long it has been sitting there. But for what I need from this place it works well.

I like this place. Its family owned and the lady who works there makes really good sandwiches. They also have every single type of beverage you could imagine. Everything from coconut water and every soda/chaser ever made to $ 170 bottles of whiskey in a carosel horse bottle. + an exquisite beer and candy selection. I’ll be back…

The last review is just a hater review. It’s a liquor store, it’s pretty much the same as any other liquor store. They have a pretty decent selection of alcohol, enough for me to always find whatever I’m looking for if I’m picking something up really quick on my way out. Although, it seems like they close kind of early on some nights. Then again, it’s La Mesa and the people in this particular neck of the woods are asleep by 9pm. I’ve been going to this liquor store since I was a kid(it’s close to home and they have lots of candy and snacks), and I’ve never had any issues with the owners. I’m assuming sometimes the owners keep an eye out for kids who they think might steal(happens pretty often since it’s right next to a middle school and the kids come in flocks once school is out). I’ve never had any issues with them«watching me suspiciously,» but then again maybe I’m just not that suspicious-looking.

this place sucks. Owners are super unfriendly like they are doing you a favor by being open. They watch you suspiciously the whole time you are in their store. Their product looks like its been sitting there for way to long. Overall I’d rather pay more and go somewhere else where you are treated friendly. Parkway Market can kiss it.
