This is a pretty small wine bar but it did have a lot of offer. From wine, to a beautiful view and cheese and cracker tasting up front. When you first walk in you’ll be able to walk around and buy wine accessories along with tasting cheese and dips. For later, you can use those dips to compliment your wine. Near the far back you’ll find a balcony where you can sit with a friend or significant other. Enjoying your wine and dine time while overlooking the beautiful view of La Jolla’s beach. Check it out next time you’re down La Jolla!

Good selection of California wines. Super beautiful view. Very much overpriced. The food leaves much to be desired, unless you are a bird, I suppose. Make that a wealthy bird with nothing constructive to do with your money. Not really worth the aggravation of having snooty servers hovering over you pushing you to continuously buy $ 15 glasses of wine. It’s not even safe to drink more than one or two glasses of wine in an hour. Rude, really. And testament to assembly line retail mentality. Too bad they’ve let the view go to their heads, and to our wallets.

I’m not a huge fan of olive oil and bread but they have tons of combinations and it was very nice to learn about the different types of vinaigrette and oils

Great olive and vinegar. Small little bar on backside with ocean view. Beer and wine served. Great food, great prices. Will be back.

Watch out for the wine prices at this«over rated trendy» place. We asked for a suggestion from waitress… the wine she brought us was $ 25.00 per glass and never even told us the price first. This is just plain BS… deceiving, dishonest. NEVERAGAIN! The«ocean» view is averrable if you are on the deck and very hard to see, not close to ocean. Much better places available in the La Jolla tourist trap jungle.

This is one of those places where you can’t buy anything because you’ll end up buying everything. A place for the gourmet connoisseurs… they have various olive oils, including BLOODORANGE olive oils, and this amazing black salt. There were two staff members there — I don’t remember their names but they were pretty awesome and I enjoyed their attitudes and open energy. I deliberately took cards so I could talk about how fab this place was on Unilocal. And because I will be placing some interesting orders over the next few weeks for holiday.

Behind the storefront is a small wine bar and restaurant that overlooks a semi-obstructed view of La Jolla Bay. Four stars for their food, it was delicious! Try one of their artisan cheese samplers with a glass of wine — superb! The artichoke pizza was tasty and I added chicken to mine. The ingredients were very fresh but it was a bit too oily. I have to knock down one star because of two things; the careless service and because they charge for wine samples. This is the first restaurant that has ever charged for samples — it’s a very insincere way to rack up your patron’s bill and very unorthodox. If you advertise samples as a wine flight it would make more sense.

I love this place — the view from the back patio is incredible. We ventured in today for a glass of wine, which were both beautiful whites. We also taste tested several olive oils, including one that had truffle salt mixed in. That was the most incredible combination! But my personal favorites were the vinegars, of which I bought two… but I’ll be back!

One of my favorite finds in San Diego. Great selection of wines, olive oils, truffles, food & great service at the bar. We truly had an amazing time here and if you’re looking to drink wine in San Diego this is the place.

The prosciutto and salami panini was amazing! Best thing about the place — if you like a dish, ask for the recipe and take the sauce home! The location is beautiful as well! We had a great time!

Awesome wine list! They have a long selection of wines to choose from & for every palate. Nice place for a date or small groups. They have some appetizers that go great with wine. Last time I was here our group ordered hummus & the girls picked a plate with cheese, fruit, & chocolate. A great mixture of salty & sweet! The also sell olive oil, balsamic vinegar, & various spreads & jams. They have samples so you can try them all! The oils & vinegars are fantastic, but a little on the steep side. They have a patio that overlooks La Jolla Shores. Seating is very limited.

I really don’t want to share when I find places that I fall instantly in love with! Chances are people will catch on to reading reviews and my quiet little sanctuary will be no more as people flood in constantly to see what the fuss is all about! Good for business, bad for me! I’m tempted to keep it all for myself but I learned how to share in elementary school so here it goes… Wine: Really amazing wine! You can get it by the glass, bottle, or pours. I chose the pour option and created my own flight. Best deal in my opinion! s) Sample a sip of this and a sip of that. Pick your favorite and if your husband is a keeper like mine he’ll buy a bottle of your favorite to take home! Food: Olives… the freshest olives and flavored oils to sample and enjoy. Those olives were so good I had to pack some to take home too! The cheese plate we ordered was simple, tasty, and complimented all of the wines we ordered perfectly. Ambiance: Wonderful staff! Beach view with ocean breezes and comfortable seating. I felt like I was sitting on a resort somewhere! Quality: Top notch! Top notch! Top notch! Worth every dime we spent and then some! I can’t wait to visit again!

We Olive is a decent little wine bar in the heart of downtown La Jolla. The front of the bar serves as a little shop where you can buy olive oils and different things like that. There is a bar with a few seats and in the back there is pretty limited seating that opens up to a really pretty view of the water. The view is the reason I gave it an extra star. They gave us a free, small olive oil tasting as we looked at the menu. The wine was decent but the service was pretty slow. We were going to order food but it was just taking too long so we left after a glass of wine. Like I said, killer view though!

Can I keep this place a secret? I can’t believe I didn’t know about this place before! If you’re looking for wine, apps, and a view of the sunset in La Jolla, this is where you go. When I saw this place on Unilocal,I thought it was just a shop, as it just looks like an olive oil store from the outside. However, when you walk through, they have a beautiful patio that looks out toward the sunset. I came for happy hour with my friend and its $ 5 off a bottle of wine and they have a few happy hour apps(hummus + crackers/veggies). Since I came with a friend, a bottle of Pinot Grigio was only $ 20 and which was well worth it with the view. The waitresses were also very nice, and they politely told us that they were closing when we stayed a bit longer than their closing hours. I definitely recommend this place and this is probably the first place I’ll come back to when I land in SD to catch up with a friend.

Perfect place for a glorious, La Jolla ocean view! And what better than to enjoy a glass of wine and cheese board overlooking the sunset after a long day of work, or leisurely weekend afternoon? Incredible pairings, and perfect ambiance. Great service! Love everything about it!

This place is charming. It’s an olive oil tasting boutique /wine bar. There is an outside deck seating area with an ocean view. It’s best to make reservations as we sat there and got booted. However inside was quaint and warm(huge plus for our dreadful San Diego winters!) The waitresses were very helpful in selecting wines and had extensive knowledge on tones, aromas, bodies, hints, acidity level, etc(way over my head but I’m up for learning). I liked every wine they suggested. They also brought over a tasting of 5 olive oils. The blood orange was my favorite. Did not eat dinner here so cannot speak to their food, but definitely a fun happy hour spot. A must go for wine enthusiasts.

Whoops, previously mentioned a 375ml bottle is $ 22…Thanks Morgan(We Olive employee), for bringing this to my attention! I’d like to be as accurate as all of you at We Olive are friendly. 12.75oz bottle is actually available for $ 23. And don’t forget, if you bring in an empty bottle, they only charge for the oil per oz. — good deal!

Let me count the ways that this is a 5 star location! 1. I don’t know anywhere else where I can go olive oil tasting 2. The olive oil AND balsamic vinaigrette is delicious 3. You can’t tell from the outside, but this place has an ocean view 4. Their paninnis are delicious! and I loved the baby kale salad that came with it. It was quite amazing. 5. Their wine was very complimentary to the food 6. The service was great and as my date noted, they looked like they stepped out of a magazine! Good looking folks. Tips: There isn’t a lot of seating so reserve ahead of time. We were lucky to be seated when we walked in on a Saturday afternoon. I had wanted to go to this place for my birthday back in June but unfortunately I had a death in the family and could not go. It worked out almost better as a date place than a special event location since it was so small. Bön appetit!
