Swenson Craig F MD

I’m an RN and asked around to all of my doctor friends who they would go to for a Total Knee Replacement and Dr Swenson’s name was unanimous! It took two and a half months to get in to see him for a consult so I guess it’s not such a secret! ;) He really knows his stuff and he has such a friendly, caring bedside manner. I appreciate it when the doctor comes in and sits down and listens. His scheduler, Lynn, is really nice to work with, too. He performed my TKR May 2015 and I am sooo thankful! I am able to dance and hike again!

Dr Swenson is the best, by far. I was born with hip displasia and had my hip replaced in 2002. The doctor’s good care and attention to detail (no blood transfusions) along with the anesthesiologist helped to make my recovery astounding. I went off pain meds within the first 36 hours after surgery and was back to my normal activities within 10 days, after surgery. In fact, a month after I had my left hip replaced, I drove from Ramona to his office for my 1 month post-​op visit. He sat me down and proceeded to tell me a story. Years before, Dr Swenson had been called to the Wild Animal Park in order to take care of a Gazelle that had injured it’s hip and the Vet’s at the park didn’t know what to do for it. Dr Swenson performed the surgery and before bringing the animal back out from under the anesthesia the Vets told him to close with stitches, that would dissolve, because once the Gazelle was conscious, she would bolt and they would never be able to catch her again. Dr Swenson then told me; «You are that Gazelle!»
So not only attention to detail and excellent surgical care, the man is a caring human being with the most excellent bedside manner and unique insight into each and every one of his patients. I will need to have my right hip replaced in the near future and possible upgrade on the left. Dr Swenson is the one to do them!

Craig Swenson is the most skillful orthopedic surgeon in Southern California. He saved my life 22 years ago after I was in a terrible car accident in which I suffered an acetabular fracture. I had 22 good years with the hip Dr. Swenson put back together. Now, I have developed arthritis and I am having Dr. Swenson perform the hip replacement operation. My faith in this man runs deep and I have only the greatest respect for his surgical skills and abilities. He is a man who deeply cares about his patients. If you chose Craig Swenson as your surgeon, some higher power has guided you in your decision. He’s the best of the best!
