Stopped in to ask a question about a pair of sunglasses I just bought and Deborah was great. She adjusted them for free and was very personable :)

I’ve been a San Diego Optical(La Jolla) customer for two decades, preferring to support local businesses — no more! I asked them to order two Ray Bans, and fill a prescription. I paid, and then waited two weeks. When I called to check, they said the Ray Bans were«discontinued,» and/or «out of stock»(Ray Ban models 3347 and 3016). They could not say why they had not notified me earlier. So, I ordered them myself online within minutes(at prices lower than I would have paid, and I received both pairs of glasses in three days). I returned to San Diego Optical for a refund. Thanks for nothing… and I’m glad I wasn’t in a hurry to have these glasses.

I walked into SD Optical and was ignored. It was an effort for someone to answer a question. Then when they did, they made me feel like I was stupid. Great customer service skills — I think not! I wouldn’t buy anything from them!

On a trip to visit my parents in La Jolla, my wife needed her eyeglasses adjusted slightly. The generous folks at this store charged her $ 5 for a one-minute readjustment. First time I’ve ever heard of an optical shop charging for this service. La Jolla’s filled with great stores for eyeglasses. I recommend going elsewhere for a purchase or an adjustment.
