Refresh Studio by Mana

I discovered this place totally by accident and I am so glad that I did. This is such a clean and neat place and most importantly my nails look fantastic! They use all organic products which is a great plus! I recommend it to all of my friends!

If you have read my previous nail salon reviews you will know that I am on a quest to find the perfect clean salon. I found this hidden nail spa on my way to get a massage in La Jolla. The thing that caught my attention was the sign, it had the words «Natural, Vegan and Organic products» This nail salon is in a small courtyard in La Jolla & it is owned and personally serviced by Mana. The salon has one purpose and that is nails nails nails!
If you are looking for fake nails, or a fast and cheap place to get your nails or toes done, this place is NOT for you!
Mana creates a whole new experience unlike any other. She uses disposable tools and expressed to me how she thoroughly disinfects everything after each client. She is very meticulous and explained everything she was doing. She did this thing that I had never experienced anywhere: instead of soaking my fingertips in soapy water she had me dip my fingertips in this nourishing warm cream.
She also said that buffing dry nails can cause a lot of damage to the nail plate so she rubbed Vitamin E oil on my fingernails before lightly buffing them. Another tip she gave me was to wear cotton gloves underneath rubber gloves when doing dishes, wearing only the rubber gloves actually can make your nail polish chip faster! She has a small selection of nail polish ranging from organic brands to OPI, so if you are picky about your nail polish color I suggest bringing your own.
I paid a total of $ 25 plus tip for this very personal and educational manicure. I will be going back for a pedicure and hope it is just as great as the mani. I am so glad I found this hidden gem!
