Boughton Dermatology

I am not really sure why there are negative reviews for this office, but my experience so far has been an enjoyable one. I have been a Boughton patient for around a year and so far, so good. It is true that I have had a couple different doctors that I have had to see during my accutane experience, but it hasn’t affected my treatment or results. The office staff is pretty easy to get ahold of for the most part regarding appointments and prescription refills, except they recently changed their phone system, which makes it a bit more difficult. Regarding wait times in the office, the longest I’ve waited is around 20 minutes. All in all a good experience!
P. S. I don’t know the girls name, but I think she is the doctor’s assistant and she has always been beyond helpful and friendly.

I wanted to get on a special medication for my condition. No one at the office knew what they were doing. Prescription was sent to the wrong place, no one ever called me back. I wasted 2 months going through this process, no one ever bothered to do any follow ups after multiple calls. It just seems that they aren’t interested in their patient’s well being.
I have had 3 different doctors there because they are always leaving to another practice.

I wish I could give this dermatology negative stars. This is seriously the worst dermatology. It is best for you to find somewhere else. In hopes that I would be satisfied with the doctor and service here, I decided to make a 30 minute trip twice every month to this dermatology. Not only was I given a change in doctor FOUR TIMES, but the PA left a scar on my chest because she thought it was milia and the dermatology did nothing about it and the doctor told me it would eventually go away, and almost every single time I went there, I was left waiting for an hour or more. The only reason I stuck to this dermatology the whole time was because I was on accutane. However, I have the deepest regret in doing so because they changed doctors on me FOUR times anyway when it’s really important for a patient to have one doctor see the progress of your skin. Another complaint I have is that they only have ONE doctor there every day so usually, they never ever keep the appointment time you made, as I mentioned before. If you plan on going here even with my warning, then don’t schedule another appointment or meeting of any sort for at least 2 hrs after your appointment time. Today, which was supposed to be my last day at this dermatology, I was late by 20 mins due to traffic (yes, yes, it sounds like an excuse, but what can I say, it’s true) and they made me reschedule to another day. I just thought this was extremely funny in that they make a patient wait for more than an hour and they can’t even have the doctor quickly check my face and tell me that I’m done with accutane, which takes less than five minutes to do. Sucks for me that I have to go back to this place, which, might I mention again, is far away from where I live. I have too many regrets due to my experience here at this dermatology…

I had my first visit today with Dr. Wang and I felt like she was very knowledgable. The front desk lady was very friendly and so was the rest of the staff. I like that this place is tucked in the middle of La Jolla on a not-​so-​busy street. There is free parking for patients with appointments so you don’t have to worry about looking for street parking.
The building is older but so is a lot of buildings in La Jolla so I didn’t mind. I highly recommend this dermatology group.
