I love the environment here. There’s lots of tables and booths, but it’s never been crowded when I come so I always have a place to open up my laptop amd work in peace. The food is a good price and pretty decent, the staff is friendly, and I love the baked treats and coffee. A chocolate chip flavored marshmallow in a pumpkin latte? Genius. I try to come in once a week to get some writing done.

Meh. I seem to remember Corner Bakery being better at one time. Nothing’s great and the ingredients are cheap. Very little bleu cheese and bacon on my chopped salad today and the chicken was weird. Every time I have come for the past several years, I am never impressed. New thing this time, they hold you hostage at the cash register collecting charity donations. I hate businesses that do that. I expect it at Whole Foods because that has always been their thing and they are selective and usually help out local organizations. I want to investigate a charity before I hand over money to them and don’t want an attitude from a cashier if I choose to say no. Not that that happened at Corner Bakery but how could one not feel guilty saying no, and that’s why I hate the practice. There are plenty of places to eat in Lagrange and this is close to the bottom of my preference list. Only thing going for it is that it’s within walking distance to Trader Joes. I would have been better off with a brownie rather than a salad.

I went there for a quick dinner which turned into anything but quick. The service was horrible and the staff was less than accommodating. The food was mediocre at best. I have been to other Corner Bakery Bakeries and never had an issue. Needless to say, I will not be returning to the Lagrange Corner Bakery.

I came here with my friend for lunch. The line went quickly and the food came out fast as well. I had a coupon but of course forgot to use it and when I went back to the register the have it adjusted they were very understanding. I had the club Panini which was great. The parking lot is a little cramped but I’ll be back.

We eat here often, I always get good service and good food. Last Sunday was the first time they messed my order up, it can happen anywhere I guess. i was impressed at how quickly it was resolved and they even gave me gift cards to make up for the issue. Totally didn’t expect that and it was unnecessary considering how many times we’ve been here with no problems. Impressed me that they care about their customers

Huge ASS parking lot in the back. It shares it with Trader Joe’s so be on the look-out for busy La Grange moms with 4 kids in tow and their out of control shopping cart. If you park on the very North side of the lot, you’ll avoid some of the madness It’s CB so we all know the menu and ordering process. I still find the ordering process of CB and Panera to be annoying. Either have waitstaff or not but don’t try to do it half-way. I think CB’s menu and food is a notch above Panera. The employees at this store are incredibly friendly. Service was quick and I also saw the manager walking the dining area and making right if he was something askew. Love their bread. Don’t get the the soup in a bread bowl, you get less soup than if you get it in regular bowl. Their mac and cheese is way better than Panera’s version which is not even fit for a child. Nice fit for downtown La Grange.

I gave this experience one star because Unilocal doesn’t allow to give No Stars– Today I dined at Corner Bakery for the 1st time and needless to say my 1st impression was horrible. My boyfriend and I paid $ 27.00 for dinner only to leave feeling disrespected and angry. While we were dining, The Manager Mitch came out to the dining area to serve«everyone» free cookies. He approaches the 1st table, 2 caucasian couples who had finished their dinner but were still sipping on their drinks, having a conversation with one another. He then approaches the next table where an elderly Caucasian man who had purchased a meal and desert was sitting, Mitch then walks next to the table my BF and I were sitting at only to approach the Caucasian Family in the table next to us, who had purchased only deserts. After making conversation with them, he proceeds to the back of the counter where he continued working, absolutely ignoring the fact that my BF and I were even in the restaurant. My BF and I are an interracial couple(I am Caucasian and he is African American) and I believe we were ignored because of this. Mitch had no problems approaching everyone else’s table, interrupting them while they were eating their dinners, drinking their beverages or mid conversation with the other people at their table but had a problem approaching our table. And he did not even try to hide the fact that he was ignoring us since he clearly walked right past us to get to the table next to us. It is not about the free cookie it is about the morals behind it, it is 2014 and an interracial couple should be treated the exact same way everyone else is. I will be contacting corporate 1st thing in the morning and will be sharing my experience on my social media pages. I do want to point out the ladies who served us were very nice but unfortunately because of the poor treatment from management I am completly disgusted by Corner Bakery

Why no love? I think this place is 100000x nicer than panera. Crustier breads, better chicken and delectable sandwich options. Service is friendly and efficient. I got my order to go, and they offered me water while I wait! I love when food is catered from here too… All around love for corner bakery!

Consistently clean and quality of the food is superb. If you’re in a rush this place may disappoint as they are a little on the slow side to serve.

I eat at the LaGrange Corner Bakery about once every few months. I like the soups, Zesty chicken tortilla, loaded potato, and sandwiches(chicken pesto, ham on pretzel roll). The salad trio good as well. I have been happy with the service other than the times when there are not enough cashiers to handle the long line. I also find that once and awhile a large carry out order can monopolize staff and make the wait for Ordering and food much longer. Their location is great and they have lots of seating options. Overall a good place for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Stopped in for brunch before some TJ shopping next door. I had a delicious egg sandwich, mom had tomato basil soup and sis had stuffed strawberry french toast. It was all wonderful.

I just left the corner bakery very disappointed. It was about 10:30am. The entire staff was completely focused on prep work and a large takeout order. The manager nervously paced the restaurant while talking on his cell phone. Maybe 10 minutes passed without my order coming up. I made an inquiry and the lady behind the counter told me I was next after the large order. There were clearly enough staff members to accomodate both orders. I told them to just forget my order and left without my sandwhich… they didn’t try to refund my money or get any additional feedback.

I’m surprised by the low ratings for Corner Bakery Café in LaGrange. I have lunch there at least 2X per month and have never been dissatisfied. No errors with orders, tables clean 95% of the time(a pet peeve for me and a complaint I have about Panera), manager often checking to see if all is well, hot food delivered hot and cold food cold, free wi-fi with no «rules» about limited time during peak hours. One of my favorite things about Corner Bakery is that they continuously improve their offerings with FREQUENT new menu selections and increasingly healthy options. Within the past several months, they’ve added calorie counts to their printed menu and many low-calorie/low carb/low fat suggestions. As a perpetual dieter, this is a big plus for me.(And, as you might guess, I’m not a big bakery eater, but my husband tells me their lemon square is killer.) I don’t give out 5 stars casually, and CBC is by no means perfect; but I think it’s the best in its category(bakery café/coffee). I agree that prices could be a bit lower, but I think Panera is actually higher(when you consider what you get for the $$); and ALL the lower-priced restaurants I visit have raised their prices recently, either out of necessity or competitive«license.»

I get something here every once in a while because it’s on my walk home from the train. The food is OK, nothing special. The bagels at Corner Bakery are actually halfway decent(Panera’s don’t have the«heaviness» and bite that I prefer in a «real» bagel). I’ve had an order mix-up here once that I caught before I left the parking lot thankfully — I got another Ed’s order that actually had more stuff than the one I’d placed, but hadn’t noticed any problems otherwise. Then again, I haven’t been a lot of different Corner Bakeries either. The lighter items on the menu are pretty decent in my mind. The heavier things tend to sit in my stomach like a rock.

The potato soup was ok, not much else to say about this place, other than go to Panera instead!

Lemon cake with sugar frosting is good. I come here for the cake whenever the Starbucks round the corner is out of their lemon cakes. Grilled sandwiches are meh…

Food quality/presentation not as good as some of the locations I have been to. Went for lunch, had a grilled panini and lemon pound cake for dessert. Dessert was great, the sandwich was just ok. It was extremely warm in the restaurant also. Probably will not return.

I hadn’t been to a Corner Bakery in a while so thought i’d give it another shot. I had the soup/sam combo with their«new» Turkey Cobb sandwich and Chicken Noodle Soup. It wasn’t too bad, not great but ringing in at nearly $ 10 this place is ridiculously overpriced.

Yikes. Spongy, wet, cat-food-looking chicken does not a gourmet sandwich make. We stopped in for 2 sammies and a pasta dish to-go and were not happy with what we ordered at all. I ordered the Chicken Pesto on Ciabatta Ficelle. It doesn’t have much on it so I asked them to add white cheddar and onion. I could only eat half. It’s a large sandwich, but honestly the meat on it was revolting. The menu says all-natural roasted chicken and I was really looking forward to something delicious, but it was blah. He had the Poblano Fresco on Poblano Cheese Bread with roast beef and said it was just«meh.» We later split the pasta dish and were disappointed. I get that it’s a café but the sauce was icky and the portion was small. It came with something they wanted to call garlic bread. More like barely garlic piece of cardboard. Pic to prove it — just take a look. We spent over $ 22 for the food and were completely let down. We both commented that we had wished we’d gone to Panera and/or Noodles instead. Womp-womp. :( We won’t be back.

Corner Bakery in La Grange is a pretty good place for breakfast; I eat there pretty often. I usually get the Anaheim Scrambler, hot oatmeal, and almost always coffee. I like CB’s Creamy Hazelnut roast, and they have lots of Splenda. I’m a big coffee drinker when I eat out at breakfast places, and it’s funny how diverse the selection of sweeteners can be. Some places are stingy with their Splenda with maybe 2 packets per table if they have it at all. Corner Bakery has a coffee bar, so you can get as much as you want. I’ve had mostly good service here. There have only been a couple times that I had a rude cashier, and I don’t think he works there any longer. He never seemed to get special orders right. And I usually get some changes to the standard order. For example, I usually order the Anaheim scrambler with egg whites(yes they surprisingly offer an egg-whites only option); no cheese, and fruit instead of potatoes. I also use their free Wi-Fi quite a bit. I have breakfast, then work on a project and end up staying so long and drinking so much coffee that my eyes are jumping out of my head. I’ve only eaten lunch at Corner Bakery a couple times. I think I’ve only had the Chopped Salad, which is excellent, but beware, because it’s huge, and something around 700 – 800 calories, although most everything in it is pretty good for you. Right down the street, Panera Break(La Grange Park) also has free wi-fi, although I don’t like their coffee as well, but I like their outdoor seating better than Corner Bakery’s.
