Please please take UR buisness elsewhere. Came in today to get beer and he was the biggest asshole I’ve ever met. He acted like his price was doing me a favor and was a smart aleck about the tax being so high, «it’s California» with a smug ass attitude. Then I said he didn’t have to act like that he says this is best price anywhere, I just mentioned that I had actually found it cheaper before but I was just saying. He says then go get it there. What a piece of shit. I said u know what i will and If u don’t want my buisness then so be it so he says and tell everyone else too! So im telling my Unilocaler friends. Fuck this place. People like this deserve to get the fuck out of this city if u hate it and its people so much. Too bad UR mother didn’t show u any manners.

I went into this store today to play Super lotto. Thought maybe going to the random corner store was the way to possibly hit. I’ve lived in this area for over 20 years, and have been in here before. The few times I remember-it was an elderly woman behind the counter. Usually I avoid this particular store because of the lot placement, and the limited/awkward parking situation. Anyway, this creepy-middle aged-balding Syrian man stared me down as I entered the store. The lotto station is near the entrance to the left. I stepped there and began filling out my lotto slip. He continued to stare me down. No greeting, no anything, just glaring at me. Not to sound dramatic, but I was a bit frightened. As I finished I turned right and headed a few steps toward the counter to hand him the slip, he looked me up and down with his nostrils flared as I approached. I thought to myself screw this! Walked out and jumped in my car. It was broad day light, and maybe I over reacted, but he scared the crap out of me. Enough so that I called my brother in Texas and told him what had just happened. lol…I don’t know if it’s a language barrier, new to this Country barrier, or if he is just plain ol rude… Evil even… I do know that I eventually made it down the street to City Market across from Tommy’s to play my slip. Told the guy in there about my experience. He explained to me that the people who own that store are indeed Syrian(just like he is), but they are not of the same group of Syrians that own the majority of the liquor stores up and down foothill blvd. He explained that most of them, with the exception of this store, are connected through family and church. Even went as far as to offer me a free bottle of cold water as he apologized for this losers behavior. I said thanks but no thanks it’s 62 degrees outside. He said I know, but you’re sweating. That was news to me. I think I had some sort of anxiety/panic attack… By all means, please avoid this store. This is my neighborhood. My home. The less patrons they get, maybe they will be forced to move! We deserve better. Theres no sort of a Mom and Pop vibe from this store. We deserve that vibe in Our neighborhoods!

I went into this place to grab an ice tea and a bottle of water. I tried to pay with a debit card. I was told that there is a $ 10 minimum. Wanted to make sure that is what I was told I got an answer of F ing right No big deal. So I ask why that was I was told and I quote nothing in life is free. I had no problem paying in cash. I had to go get cash out of my truck. The man at the counter wasn’t the nicest person I have dealt with. As he snatched the items I was going to purchase with a bunch of F bombs. Not a good way to do business. That is the last time I do business there again. No respect for there customers.

I’ve been here on three occasions and each time was greeted with a non friendly manner. I am guessing he is the owner which is the sad part. I am sure YOU are not reading this because you have no knowledge of how to run a business. Let’s try with the basics, say hi and greet your customers as they enter your establishment, also it is also a good idea to thank your customers for all purchases, this makes them feel welcome. It is evident from previous posters that none of these habits are being utilized. Oh well, it’s your business.

Don’t go here if you like your purchase to be literally yanked off the counter right in front of your face while being told«THENYOUDON’T HAVETOBUYIT!» I went in to check out their liquor selection, which is very poor I came to find. Being nice, I figured I would at least buy a .99 Arizona Iced Tea while I browsed around. I went to the counter to pay, «$ 1.04» said the older woman at the helm. I reached in my pocket and grabbed a dollar and continued to hunt deeper for that elusive extra 5 cents to close the deal. No luck. I didn’t want to have to break a dollar, and with no «take a penny leave a penny» in sight I asked if it was okay that I didn’t have the 5 cents.(To which I don’t believe I have ever been told no before in my entire life) The lady at the counter look confused and maybe wasn’t sure what I was saying? So I started to turn to go outside and get change from my car. At this exact moment and angry older man jumped out of his seat behind the counter, came over YANKED the Arizona Iced Tea off the counter and exclaimed that famous line: «THENYOUDON’T HAVETOBUYIT!» I looked at him in utter bewilderment… «Are you joking!!!» I rebutted as he just stared at me. «I was going to get change from my car» I replied again. More staring. I was in shock that such anger came from this guy for literally no reason. I then walked out and never looked back. I will never go here again and will do my best to help others avoid such a terrible business.

I’ve been here a few times to pick up random things like a newspaper, gum, lottery tickets… It’s a small liquor store which you may pass right by without noticing it was there. Small parking lot but I’ve never had to wait for a space. Every time I’ve been in I’ve been helped out by someone pleasant.

Awful. I say this with no hesitation. The salad days for this place are over. If you would like to buy a bag of Cheetos that were packaged during the first Bush presidency, this place is for you. I bet there is some Clear Pepsi if you look hard enough. Sadly, you won’t get the chance. The surly attitude of one of the shopkeepers keeps most customers from spending more than 30 seconds in here. If you have some extra time, you can always partake in the twenty year old adult magazines for sale on the cobwebbed shelving. If the day clerk treats regulars with an attitude you have to wonder how he would welcome the unsuspecting visitor trying to buy some Boones Farm on Thanksgiving. Now that I think about it, if the 7 – 11 on Foothill & Boston didn’t burn to the ground this place would have been closed 10 years ago. NOTE: If you need booze in this area(and I mean, who doesn’t need booze if you are in this area), drive one additional ¼ mile to City Market(7611 Foothill) in Tujunga.
