Been going here for take-out since it opened couple years ago, if only for the slaw. It’s out-of-this-world. .. no make that out-of-this-universe! Plus I really take a shine to the whole fish there, especially the yellow-tail snapper. Yesterday’s YTS was gigantic. Never seen one so huge. Usually they’re way smaller and grill well and perfect for two. If not the slaw or fish offerings, just go to chat up the rowdies who wait on you. .. they’re hilarious.

One of the best shrimp po’boys I have had outside of Louisiana. Always busy, but worth the wait. The jambalaya was really just rice, not true jambalaya. Love that you can buy fresh seafood and also seasonings. A great addition to Knoxville.

First time at The Shrimp Dock. Recommended to eat here to my brother and sister-in-law who are visiting from St. Louis. Food was wonderful. Very tasty, satisfying. Friendly staff. A definite to go back and enjoy.

I have loved Shrimp Dock for many years. Food is tasty, good variety, always been happy. I gave you one star because of how I was just treated a few minutes ago. I ordered my lunch to go and was sitting at the glass countertop. I looked down to my right and there on a smaller counter was a stick of deodorant. I have no idea if it was new or used. Anyway, the cook came out from the back and handed me my order. I said, «Excuse me, but is that deodorant? You know, sitting on the counter… in a restaurant???» Guy looked at me like I was an idiot, said, «Yeah.» He turned around to the three guys peeling shrimp and said, «Who’s is that?» Mumble, Mumble, Mumble. I just walked away. When I left, it was still sitting there. Boys, be glad I was not a health inspector! Won’t be back…

The fish fry is tasty and $ 10 each. The coleslaw is unique and excellent, with green onions in it. Order carryout; there are some café tables, and maybe one meal’s worth of weird things on the wall to stare at… maybe.

Be aware of the prices! They tell you a seafood boil can be done for around $ 14 – 18 per person, but that is pretty much false! We went in thinking it was going to cost us around $ 60-$ 70 for 4 people, but ended up costing around $ 110. So, their estimates are way off! He even told us while we were waiting that it’ll be around $ 14 per person. Deceptive. They have good selection, but expensive prices in comparison. In addition, they didn’t give us a lot of corn, garlic, or lemons! The paper said add 6 lemons, and they gave us 1 lemon! Probably won’t buy for a boil from them again. Not because it was more expensive, but because they were deceptive in their pricing.

Mostly take out(raw fish) but we enjoy eating in from time to time(few tables for sitting, they will cook some limited daily menu items). It’s a good value, fish fresher than most places in knoxville, counter service only, can be uncomfortable to eat in when busy. Sides kind of boring but jambalaya and Cole slaw stand out. Lunch specials are very good especially the po boy and fish tacos. Expect eating off of Styrofoam and plastic utinsels. Some of the staff are very nice, and some staff can be let’s just say less less than nice. …

While visiting friends and family in Knoxville for the 4th we received a discount bracelet at the parade and decided to give it a try. Boy are we glad we did. My wife and I stopped in on a rainy day looking for lunch. The staff was very knowledgeable regarding the different options and custom made my wife’s sandwich to perfection. We both had the shrimp po boys and with the sides, it was a very filling lunch. I highly recommend making this a stop. We visit the Knoxville area a couple of times a year and will definitely be back.

My boyfriend gave up fried food for Lent but really wanted seafood today. Shrimp Dock definitely delivered on that, AND he was able to get his seafood fix without breaking Lent. He had a blackened tilapia sandwich with jambalaya and broccoli(it came with two sides). He said it was absolutely delicious. I, on the other hand, could never give up fried food, so I had the fried shrimp po boy. Oh. My. Gosh. So good! I had it with two classic sides – french fries and hushpuppies. Both were super yummy. The tartar sauce seemed to be homemade, and it was delicious. I must say though, I also tried the cocktail sauce, and it was very underwhelming. It just didn’t have enough horseradish. That’s a small nit picky item for such a delicious lunch, though. We’ll be back for sure. One more thing – we ordered all this food to go, and they were great about that. The packages the sauces and even lettuce separately, so our sandwiches would be as fresh as possible. Great service! Thanks, Shrimp Dock!

Went to Shrimp Dock Farragutt for fresh oysters and was surprised to find the price to be $ 14.99 a dozen. This is almost restaurant price shucked. Come on Shrimp Dock give us a break, your price for a dozen shucked oysters is the same price. What gives?

Their seafood may be excellent to, purchase and prepare at home. However, the fried oysters are poorly done. The batter is too heavy and takes away from delicate taste of oysters. The hush puppies were dough balls burnt on the outside. The slaw is heavy with mayo-that can be a personal preference.

Delicious and fresh seafood and a delicious PO boy at lunch. Always get your seafood here. And catering trays for parties are really nice too!

If i could give this place 20 stars i would. I have not dined in yet however I buy seafood there all the time and it is always excellent quality. I’m from Charleston SC orginally and struggled for years to find a good place to buy fresh seafood… not any more! Great is the only way i can describe it. Try thier sides and cocktail sauces they sell as well.

I was very tempted to give 5 stars. The guy taking orders was really friendly. We happened to go on Tuesday when they have their po-boy special. It’s 2 po-boys for 12.99 but even when it’s not on special the po-boy is only 7.99. It comes with 2 sides and a ton of shrimp, a ton of it. The fries are fine, the hush puppies have some decent flavor, the cole slaw is a nice complement to the sandwich. The jambalaya was plentiful but blah. Will definitely be back for the sandwiches and the fresh fish.

I wouldn’t buy fresh fish anywhere else in Knoxville. It is a splurge for us but it is always the best quality. On our last visit we stopped in for lunch and each ordered a poboy. I had the crabcake and my husband had the oyster. They both came with two sides… we picked coleslaw and jambalaya. Everything was so simple but so delicious. I will never make my own crabcakes or coleslaw again! I see no reason when I can buy such an amazing product from the Shrimp Dock. Had the rest of my meal not been so filling I could have eaten another four servings of coleslaw for sure. I dream about it at night. After lunch we got 2 red snapper fillets(which was way too much!) and a container of crawfish etouffe. We were so stuffed from lunch we had to wait until the next day to prepare the snapper. It was fresh and great quality. A few nights later we heated up the etouffe for a quick supper. I can’t wait to try more of their soups. It was great for a weeknight meal.

The Shrimp Dock is one of a handful of Knoxville seafood restaurant/markets where fresh seafood from the Gulf and the Atlantic is flown in every week. During a lunch hour, I stopped in and ordered their Shrimp Po-Boy sandwich with Jambalaya and chips as sides. The sandwich was huge, filled to over-flowing with popcorn sized shrimp that was breaded and deep fat fried. The chips on the side were good, but the Jambalaya was little more than flavored rice with only a few pieces of sausage and veggies. The dining area is small and seats about 30 or so, with snack bar service as well. All of the soups, bisques, and other sides are made there FRESH, from scratch. My wife loves clam chowder and I love lobster bisque, so before I left, I purchased a quart of each. The clam chowder(Boston style) was OUTSTANDING. Creamy and filled with delicious chunks of clam, onion, celery and other vegetables, seasoned to perfection. The lobster bisque, sadly was WAYTOOSALTY. It was creamy, filled with delicious tid-bits of lobster, and other savory vegetables, but the salt killed it for me. Definitely a great little gem in a strip mall on the south side of Kingston Pike, about half a mile west of Lovell Road.

How come the poboy specials are ONLY for Tuesdays? I do like the selection of fish here, and I’m glad there’s a fresh fish staple around Knoxville since I love seafood. However, it is a limited selection. While I’m surprised to see frozen soft shell crabs(even escargot!), there didn’t have a lot of fish I’m used to in the Atlantic, probably because of the proximity of Knoxville to fresh waters. What’s sole again?

I kind of can’t believe that there are no reviews of the Shrimp Dock yet! It is absolutely the best place to buy fresh fish, and their homemade crab cakes are unbelievable. My husband is a big fan of their po boys as well. The staff who work there are all very friendly, and will tell you all about the freshest and most delicious thing available if you ask. Shrimp Dock, you’ve got me hook, line, and sinker!
