Wish there was a way I could give negative stars– this was the first salon I went to when I moved to the area– it had good reviews and seemed like a decent place… To make a very long story short … These idiots colored my naturally dirty blonde hair SHARPIEBLACK then told me it would fade which it didn’t it just bleed purple all over my white sheets shower and when I traveled for my one year anniversary turned the tub black when I dipped my hair in it … How romantic!!! btw I grew up in a salon my mother worked for redken im aware of color coming out but this was on a whole other level did I forget to mention I paid them 2000 $ to put the great lengths extensions in my hair … These people are a nightmare! And«Johnny» who’s the woman owner told me that«there the same extensions they use in Hollywood you must of got some Jewish hair» I was shocked– no wonder when the owner makes comments to customers that spend that kind of money– and you have five diffrent people straight out of hair school in your one appointment/worst hair experience I’ve ever had and it was never made right this was in March or 2014 and I’m still very bitter about it! Enough to spend this time to write a review and save the rest of you!!! I spent a whole day having a manager there combing knots out and«trying to save my hair» haaaa I had hair 12 inches to 1 … Then she told me she didn’t want to lose me as a client and I could pay 600 $ that day to have my hair done/styled everyday all year– what a joke haven’t been back since– stay away!!! Btw my hair is in much better condition I’ve been going to pure luxe in knoxville Jennifer is from New York and highly qualified and you Deff get the quality work and results!!! YOUBLOW!!!

I have had 2 good haircuts at Salon Azure. However, I just left the salon after waiting 20 minutes for the stylist. No one acknowledged that was I waiting for such a long time. I understand that waiting happens sometimes, but I was upset no one let me know the stylist was running late or how much longer she would be. Considering I have to a hire a babysitter to get my hair cut and now I have still have to pay the sitter and don’t have my hair cut, I won’t be back.

I have gone to various massage therapists for years, and Caitlin is by far the best that I have ever gone to. If I could give her 10 stars, I would. There is nothing at all I could say that is negative. She will melt all of your stress and troubles away!

My review is actually from a few years ago before the Unilocal days. But it was so awful I felt the need to come warn others since I’ve met several people over the years with similar nightmares. The short of it, the ‘colorist’ fried my hair beyond repair. It literally was falling out for weeks, I had to spend a small fortune in products to repair it. But I just had to grow it out. She also managed to get bleach on my shirt and pants then when rinsing it soaked into my underwear! So ruined over $ 100 worth of clothes and when leaving and I said I wasn’t paying for fried hair and an entire ruined outfit; they said they would call the cops. Lol. As you can see from my pic, the hair recovered and grew out, but it took almost a year, and about $ 250 of Joico products.

First timer and last timer to this salon! Came in for a cut/color(ombré style). My colorist literally had no clue what she was doing. She prepared the color(way too dark… my ombré color ended up DARKER than my natural color lol!) and she had no idea how to correctly complete the ombré style. We had to schedule a follow up appt to fix the color(…Which was complimentary) where I HADTOEDUCATE her on how to do ombré. Lol needless to say, it was a pretty bad color job but I mustered through the experience. The cut wasn’t bad… Or good. Just your average run of the mill/boring cut you could get at «great clips» for a fourth the price. Recommendation for mgmt: your salon is beautiful and in a great location! Staff is quite friendly also… But please invest in your folks so they are up to date on how to deliver new techniques/style trends.

I have been a patron of Salon Azure for three years. At first, the staff and my stylist, Ebony, were friendly and really listened. For some unknown reason, that is changing. I am hustled in and out of the chair in about 15 minutes flat. Yes, the cut is ‘OK’ but not really what I am looking for in a cut. Ebony is distracted, doesn’t chat, doesn’t listen, and seems intent on getting to the next customer. I don’t get it. I leave a good tip, I’m not a demanding customer, I try to be friendly. I feel like a faceless customer, good for another 50 bucks. I will be moving on to a different salon if my experience doesn’t get better. One more chance, Salon Azure!

I will say that this is a very nice salon in some ways. The décor is modern. Everything is clean and bright. The front desk staff greeted me warmly and offered me a beverage. My stylist gave me a great scalp massage during the shampoo. My cut and style was very good. All of these things are not to be discounted. However, I personally didn’t care for the product push of this place. Yes, I realize selling products is a stylist’s job. I enjoy learning what has been used during my service. But if I say that I can’t afford to invest in products at the moment I don’t expect to continue to be pushed to buy something. Just because a different product is four dollars less doesn’t mean I can buy it right now. I probably would’ve purchased what I liked on my next visit but after being pressured I highly doubt I’m going to come back. This was on top of being talked over when I said I would need to see what my schedule is like before I could make an appointment to come in for the touch up. I think it’s great that the salon offers this service but pressuring me to schedule something right then and there was off putting. When I was ready to pay for my services there were three people at the desk. No one would check me out. After standing there for a few minutes another woman came over and took my payment. I will look elsewhere for a regular salon.

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. Used to get my hair cut at Salon Azure. I was usually happy with the cuts, but the revolving door they had installed for the staff(constant turnover) annoyed me. Twice I showed up for an appointment only to find out the person I booked with was no longer employed. One would think they might mention this during the appointment reminder call, no? Letting an unknown person mess with my precious locks is a frightening experience. Also, they were always really aggressive about pushing their Aveda products. So much so I never had confidence I really needed some of them. I think they were under the gun to sell a lot of product. Recently I had a certificate for a free blowout, and I thought what the heck, I’ll give them another try. Annie talked to me about what I wanted, gave me an awesome head massage and wash, and styled me to perfection. The hair looked great for two days and passable the third, when it really did need a washing, as you would imagine. She talked to me about the products she was using and what she was doing. At the end, she just asked me if I wanted any products today, and I did purchase one of them because I really wanted to try it out. I was pleased not to get the hard sell I’d experienced previously. If anyone from Salon Azure is reading this, I’m more likely to come back now that I know you won’t be hounding me to buy products all the time. Also I’m more likely to drop by and purchase Aveda products I’ve been buying at that other Aveda place now. I got my free blowout certificate from recyclebank dot com, but it looks like they have the same deal on their website for new customers or if you haven’t been in for a year or more. My four stars feels a little high, but I’m hoping they are worth it now. I’ll give you another try soon, Salon Azure.

This salon is GORGEOUS but my «trusted» hairstylist of over 1 year ruined my hair. After cutting my hair with the same style for almost 1 whole year, on a regular basis, she massively screwed up and left me with a haircut that looks like two separate haircuts and has taken almost 7 months to start to look normal again. I’ve had 2 other stylists try to repair it, as they lovingly chuckle a little looking at it in disbelief, to no avail. For now I am staying away from any hair cutter until it regains some sense of normalcy. I will not return to Salon Azure, either. Too bad because I really enjoyed going there.

I haven’t been to Salon Azure in a while(I tend to change hair dressers every year just to change things up). However, I certainly give the place and Alberto 5 stars. I love being able to just sit down and get a perfect hair cut, and Alberto certainly delivered.

This place is the BEST! If you want a hair cut or color… you can do no wrong by asking for an appointment with Zelda. The whole salon is very professional. She really listened to what I wanted. Her assistant was also great, listened to me on how I wanted it blown out and gave the best shampoo… very relaxing. I am very picky about my hair color… esp. since I moved here 5 yrs ago and its been a nightmare to find someone who can get it right. Zelda got it right and gave a great cut to. The prices are not cheap but not crazy expensive either… esp. for something done right!

I’ve had mens haircuts at both this Aveda store and also at Natural Alternatives. Both do a good job, I’d say equivalently. That said, they are probably among the better places to get a mens haircut in Knoxville, but are by no means spectacular if you’ve ever lived in more cosmopolitan places. Standard service is free coffee, drinks when you arrive. A neck, scalp massage. They’ll wash your hair, cut and trim it, and then wash it again and style it. They offer several different«levels» of cuts, I usually just get whatever is around $ 20 – 25. That way I can get out for less than or equal to $ 30. More than $ 30 for a guys cut… all said and done is excessive, unless you are John Edwards. Another great perk they offer is free trimming between cuts. I usually get my hair cut once every 8 weeks, so this allows me to still look respectable during the time in-between.

Call me crazy for Aveda products, but I love them, the smell and at the point every salon I’ve been to that sells them. My salon visits are far and few inbetween the growing out of my hair and I’m also particular about who cuts it so I will pay for it. Love Salon Azure and Ebony my stylists who is no-nonsense when she cuts my hair. I’ve only gone there for a cut and style so I can’t speak about any other service but I’ve always been happy with the results, and the rest of the staff is nice and relatively down-to-earth.

I wanted a big change in my hairstyle, and they did a great job. The stylist paid careful attention to what I wanted and made smart recommendations. They also offered me a free touch-up the next week, just to make sure that I was liking my new cut. The price was also right. Perhaps a little high for the area, but well worth it for what you get. $ 45 for a haircut, which included the followup visit AND a neck massage. Definitely coming back here when I’m in Knoxville.

Just went in for a cut while I was in town for a visit. If I were a poet I’d write an «Ode to Johnnie». Love you guys!
