Eh so so. Went there to see what we could find but simply found nothing special. Although I do understand they can’t control what people donate the workers were very drowsy acting.

I’ve seen some horribly overpriced things here. But if it’s clothes you’re after, and you have an entire day to find them, then by all means hunt away. They recently changed the format to «By Size» but it really didn’t help much, everything is still ridiculously elbow deep and hard to find. If you’re a veteran(or spouse thereof) then the price is actually worth it, because it’s 25% off everything in the store. But the leaking roof, the aimless staff, the lower quality furniture for often an outrageous price, and having to shove the huge racks of clothing aside to get enough space to look at something… It all adds up to a 2 ½, which I generously round up to a 3.

Amvets is a bit of an overwhelming experience. There is literally everything here and most of it is junk. But I love junk, so to me, this place is a thrifters paradise ! It is very hit or miss, either I find a lot of things or nothing at all, but that doesn’t stop me from coming here on a regular basis. Everyday offers a certain discount color, and they also offer a student discount. Above all there is a fried green tomato food truck in the same parking lot, and to me that is worth it to drive through the scary part of Magnolia.

4 stars because this is my favorite thrift store! It is a hunt so take your time but I can usually always find something! It has a huge variety of unique stuff and very reasonably priced. They put out almost anything! That being said– every now and then the staff there will welcome you, every other time they’re on their personal phone while ringing you up… But who cares I ain’t here to make friends– just trying to get some deals!

Ok so, I love this thrift store, it really holds a special place in my heart as the greatest, oddest, cheapest, and most diverse thrift store in Knoxville. Having said that I must tell you, don’t expect to go here and expect to find an immaculately clean and well organized store. Don’t expect to find a public restroom, a consistantly helpful staff, or the best smells in the world. What you can expect to find though is a huge quantity of very fairly priced clothing, home accessories, furniture, toys, etc. They really do have a little bit of every thing — vintage, new, and in between. They really don’t descriminate when putting out their clothing, which is great for me because I find beautiful vintage things there that I would NEVER find at KARM, or Goodwill(tiny moth holes, stains or old garments don’t seem to pass their inspections), AND I pay probably half of what those places would charge if they did have those vintage items up for sale… AND on top of having great prices every day, they are always having some sort of special, either the regular–«this color tag is 25% off & this color is 50% off» or sometimes even better, I went in the other day and all the short sleeve shirts in the store were $ 1. I mean REALLY?! I bought at least 12. One thing I wish that they would do is clean up the dressing rooms a little and put some working locks on the doors. but really that is it. I love this place, and if I have to deal with an unusual smell, a little disorganization, and a missing checkout person here and there then I will do it with a smile on my face because this place is awesome and there is no equivalent place in Knoxville in my opinion.
