Went to Dickey’s last weekend. While the food was great as always, there was only one teenager running the entire restaurant. She was having to almost run to try to do all the work… the call in orders, the people in line, the phone ringing off the hook. Jasmine was wonderful when she finally got to us, explaining that someone had called out sick. So, where was the manager? Very poor business decision to not get in there and help this great employee. People left due to the line which was out of her control and cost the business money. There is no excuse for not having backup. Having worked retail for years, management should have been there on the spot. The only reason I didn’t rate it 1 star is that Jasmine went out of her way to do everything she could for us. And the food was good.

Food was ok but the service was terrible!!! Very unfriendly and not welcoming at all. Made me want to leave and was afraid to ask any questions. The female at the cash register was super unpleasant. Otherwise, food was ok. The pulled pork was good with the bbq sauce and vinegar. My friend had chicken which was super bland and sad.

Out of ribs. Ice machine wasn’t working, fountain sodas weren’t working, Mac & cheese was cold, shredded pork was not great, the sauces all looked discolored or not the right consistency. The only thing that was ok was the roll and the sweet tea. The employees seemed to not have a control on how to operate and they were not crowded at all. I watched one couple spend about 10 minutes at the register with the employee seeming very overwhelmed. I’ve only been to 3 dickies locations in the Raleigh area and this one was AWFUL. The one at Crossroads in Cary should be an example of what Dickies should be like.

My bestie and I came here because we always drive by here when in Knightdale and wanted something different. I have to say, I was not impressed and will not be back. We walked in and it was empty near lunch time… on a week day. My bestie got brisket, fried okra, and waffle fries. I got smoked chicken, mac n’ cheese, and waffle fries. We both got large sodas. I’ll start with saying that the souvenir cups are awesome and a great idea. There is also free ice cream with cones and it’s super yummy so there’s that. The girl who was working there alone was nice enough, but not into communication and was very quiet. I was really excited and jumped right into the mac n’ cheese which was super yummy and I guess I would come back for a side of that! My waffle fries were extremely garlic and pepper ridden which I wasn’t expecting and i’m not a fan. The waffle fries would be better by themselves without all that seasoning. The chicken was also garlic covered and had no smoke flavor. I come from a place where smoked chicken actually tastes smokey and rich. The texture was great, but the flavor… I took 2 bites to give it a shot and I couldn’t eat the rest. My bestie said hers was okay for flavor, but the texture wasn’t all there. I see that people really like this place, but it was a miss for me. We ended up paying about $ 26 and it was definitely not worth that.

It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great either. I had a stuffed potato and they were a bit stingy with the meat. It is fast food BBQ and it tastes like it. We most likely will not be back.

Out of ribs. Out of chicken. Turkey was so squishy there was no way it was done. Brisket was great though, only thing that saved them from one star. Blond haired girl behind the counter threw in more ribs… Then touched the turkey breast right next to the raw ribs… which the guy taking the orders then took out, with the raw rib juices BBQ sauce still visible on the side and served to a customer. That’s food poisoning city right there… Location is claustrophobic small, no pickles, all the food save for brisket, fries, and roll was room temp or colder. Will not be back. I thought the Cary NC location was way worse then the Pinehurst area one, but this was a new low!

The Good: Brisket, ribs, chicken, waffle fries, baked beans, okra The Bad: Polish Sausage, Cheddar Sausage, not so potato casserole, Price The Ugly: Meats Fridged till order then reheated, Counter service Ok not inviting but do have potential, Entire space Needs a through after hours Deep Cleaning. Eaten here several times .for a franchise take out knda place they close to being what they think they are. Ultimately, management weakness shows.

One of my favs. Love the beef and cheese baker. I would have never thought barbecue sauce on a potato would be so heavenly ! I got my friends hooked also. This location Is always fast and workers considerate and accommodating. Friendly place to go. I have also experienced their catering. They went above and !!

Keep in mind this is a fast food restaurant its not pit bbq or homemade sides you’ll be eating but for what it is its not bad the ribs and brisket was tender but could’ve used more seasoning, the bbq sause was bland to me. I would eat here again it’ll help satisfy you bbq fix on the go.

Dickie’s has a real fundamental problem. The franchise attempts to deliver authentic«home cooking» in a fast-food format. Like all chain/franchise/corporate restaurants that attempt to do this, it just doesn’t work. People can tell when vegetables come out of a can, when meat comes frozen off a truck, when food is prepared according to a manual, when processed food is assembled according to economies of scale. Some people don’t mind – and the reviews reflect that. If you regularly enjoy standardized franchise-fast-food-fare, then you will enjoy Dickies. It isn’t «bad», but it isn’t «good» either. The staff is friendly, the place is clean, but Dickies is what it is – and it’s a Subway-model fast-food-franchise that serves BBQ.

First time I have been to Dickey’s In Knightdale. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had the beef brisket without sauce which was very good. The Orion Fries was very good a bit salty, since I have been on a low sodium diet. Green Bean were good, but also salt. Went with a friend who is very picky and she said everything for good. Works for me.

Great quality food at a great price. Barbecue means something different in Texas though, so don’t go there expecting a vinegar based sauce on your chopped pork barbecue or you’ll be disappointed. Texas barbecue has a sweet sauce and is more than just pork. I love the chopped brisket and the ribs, which are both awesome! Being from eastern NC I do prefer my pork barbecue with more of a vinegar based sauce though and would recommend Smithfield’s Chicken and Barbecue if that’s what you’re looking for. They have plates with 2 sides, choices of sandwiches, and these huge stuffed baked potatoes. Their choice of sides is pretty large too especially for a small restaurant chain. The staff have always been super friendly and I noticed a 99.5 sanitation rating when I went there on 1÷11÷13! That’s always a winner in my book.

Love Dickey’s in Knightdale !!! We have been there several times since they opened and most of the times the owner and his family were there. greeting people, making sure everybody was enjoying their meal… Made us feel like it was not a franchise but a family restaurant… loved the atmosphere. The food was great too, and we’ll continue to frequent because of the food, atmosphere and service.

I get take-out for lunch every now and then. BBQ is alright. Not the best I’ve ever had, not crap either. I’ve yet to experience any dry, tasteless cuts, and I always taste the smoke. I’ve always stuck to my usual: either the ribs, brisket(sliced and chopped), and/or pulled pork. Good service. Restaurant always clean when I’ve gone. Portion size for the combo plates should definitely be larger, though.

If your looking for good real pit barbeque keep looking cause this aint it! I rarely have to do a bad review but this place is almost as bad as Knightdale Seafood and BBQ so be warned. About 1 ½ stars but thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt. So, where do I begin, first off while standing in line I see they had to throw out polish sausage that the guy before me ordered because it was bad, that in itself should have raised a giant red flag but I thought who orders that anyway and moved forward. I am so disappointed too because I really love real pit barbeque. So I ordered the Rib Platter with green beans, mashed potatoes and hush puppies. How can you screw that up? First of all, the green beans had no flavor they were served in a Styrofoam bowl half full of water, the mashed potatoes must have been powdered, the hush puppies were nearly burned and hard on the outside. Now the ribs, okay they were obviously re-heated a few times over. They were hard and dried out on the outside underneath the BBQ sauce that they selected for me but fatty underneath possibly from cooking at too high a temperature. Sauce was not very good either, no hickory flavor. This lunch was no bueno, there are many better choices nearby.

We thought Dickey’s was fantastic. This is real Texas BBQ, not the NC vinegar version. The Westerner sandwich is to die for… I had brisket with the spicy chedder sausage… smothered in the warm red sauce. Heaven. My wife had the fall of the bone ribs and my son ate free(Sunday). My favorite sides are the macaroni and cheese and the waffle iron fries. I also ate enough of the free pickles to send me over the edge. This place is real home cookin’. And don’t forget the free ice cream… or you can do it like my son and make rootbeer floats in your yellow cup. They are tucked in the corner of the shopping center, but it is worth tracking down. Also met the owner, very very nice! Feels great to support a locally owned restaurant.
