Awesome selection of beers, huge selection of world class beers, amazing cheeses and their panninis are also awesome. Huge wine inventory also. Deserts were great also. Overall easy 5 stars. Looking forward to going back soon.

Great craft beer and wine shop that takes it to another level. Awesome cheese selection, appetizers and small plates. They have a really nice tap selection of beer and wine. The unique items in the gift shop are diverse and mainly regional. This is a rare calm spot in the storm that is a beach town. If you are looking for an easy going place to enjoy a glass of wine or a good craft beer with some great cheese and or appetizers, check it out.

Trio is a cozy joint for lunch, dinner, or snacks. The food is always delicious – it is both familiar and special. The waitstaff are friendly while letting you enjoy your indoor picnic. I’m a big fan.

What an experience! We were looking for a nice light lunch and this place definitely fit the bill. The smoked cheddar soup and tapas were exactly what we were looking for. Fantastic flavor and great presentation. Be sure to try the dark chocolate goat cheese cheesecake, seriously the best piece of cheesecake I have ever had, hands down. Sweet, sour, tangy, and delicious!

What a great find! My girlfriend and I stopped in to pick up some craft beer and left with about a case total. Lots to choose from! We were approached by an employee a few minutes upon arrival and asked if we needed assistance. We ended up speaking to this(very knowledgable, very kind) gentleman for about 20 minutes. He gave us numerous suggestions, most of which we took him up on. Not only do they have craft beer, but wine, cigars and cheese! Great, big, stinky cheese! Oh, and a bar as well! This will definitely be our go to beer stop when we are in the Banks.

Its an amazing place — amazing staff, great choice of wine, beers and a pool table(safely hidden on the upper floor). I went there with a couple of friends while exploring Outer Banks. The food is great. The wine is great. There is a huge collection of cheese for any cheese lovers. We had the«craft: mac-n-cheese and the housemade hummus for appetizers — which btw, were delicious. The paninis were good too — Cave Aged Gruyère and Turkey(My dish — yumm!) while my other friend has the House Grilled Cheese. Overall, worth the $$$

Stopped in on a Monday and had a beautiful Chardonnay. Also had a rosè, which was a bit sweeter. Ordered a bread plate which came with some olive oil for dipping. Cute little wine bar, but for those traveling with non wine people had a nice beer on tap selection. Monday is ½ off wine by the glass(so is Sunday, which also has ½ off beer on tap).

So impressed! Went in for cheese for a friends birthday who LOVES stinky cheese and not only did they gracefully help me pick the perfect cheeses and let me try them all(there were 60 to choose from), while they were packing it up, I browsed the beer section and was so amazingly overwhelmed!

We come to the Outer Banks about 10 times a year and we just found Trio… wish we had found it sooner as it has everything we like… great wine selection, 24 beers on tap, excellent environment and wonderful staff. We started our day there at 11:30 and we were welcomed by a gentleman that was more than happy to show us the process. You get a card and they have wine machines. You can get a sample or a half glass or a full glass. They have about 24 bottles of wine ranging from $ 7 to $ 25 per glass. We stuck with the $ 7-$ 9 and we’re happy! The cheeseboard was excellent and staff was very helpful in helping us decide. We could tell by the locals stoping by, that this was a favorite. People knew people by name and very friendly. We later ventured upstairs and it’s more of a lounge. They have a pool table and separate bar and a bunch of laid back seating. They also have a wine shop and great wine/beer products/home décor items. I would give it a 5 star and probably should, but I always am happy with a $ 5 glass of wine. I did find it very reasonable though. We will definitely go back. Ohh also awesome logo and great apparel.

LOVE! This place is awesome. Great place for foodies like myself. They even offer you wine to taste as you shop! They have a HUGE selection of wine and beers and the workers are very helpful. There’s a bar downstairs where they also have live music. Upstairs, they have a couple lounge areas and a pool table to play, free of charge! We ordered their cheese plate and some wine. The waitress was very helpful in describing the cheeses and wine pairings. Loved the atmosphere, good place to relax, chill with some good company and listen to live music.

Spent a whole week in the OBX. Ate out a lot and tried a lot of different food. This place was by far one of my favorites and stands out among all the other places I visited. Food is amazing — prepared fresh and served piping hot. Wine and beer selection is huge, and our server did a nice job of making suggestions for us based on what we were eating. Service was also very good — manager even came over and chatted with us for a bit. If I ever make it back to the outer banks again, I will be back!

My bridesmaids brought me here for a few pre-dinner drinks to start the big night out of my bachelorette weekend. Luckily it was the beginning of the evening, because this is a nice establishment folks. The penis straws & whistles stayed hidden, but our server was kind enough to indulge our group in some photos. They have a great beer & wine list & I was excited to have Dogfish’s pumpkin beer for my choice of poison. We only had drinks, but the food smelled amazing. Cute spot for drinks & treats.

I highly recommend this place. While visiting Obx we came here for lunch, the food and service were amazing. Everything was home made and fresh. Sangria(white & red) were amazing. Mac and cheese was amazing.

If you find yourself vacationing in the Outer Banks, do your self a favor and stop in at Trio. Part bar, part restaurant, part beer store, part wine store. Live music, wine tasting, pool table, and CHEESES! They have an extensive beer and wine selection in their retail space. Delicious sandwiches. Cheese by the pound. A must go to spot while down at the shore.

A great gathering spot for adults with craft beer, international wines, and tapas served by enthusiasts! The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star rating is that the chairs are too hard for my boney butt to stay longer!

Went last night for dinner. The wine selection was incredible. I had the daily dry róse. My friend had he local maibock. We started with the onion dip appetizer which I was sad didn’t come with the chips I had seen someone else have with their sandwich. I had the white bean cake panini, my friends had the seafood gumbo and andouille sausage wrapped in pastry. The white bean cake was okay. Needed some cheese or other wetness. The other foods were great. Also had dessert of dark chocolate goat cheese cheesecake and bread pudding. Both were demolished with the staff recommended red and a grüner vetliner.

My sister lives in OBX so I’ve had a few chances to try Trio when visiting. I’m obsessed with Trio, it’s perfectly the best beer, wine, cheese place to hang out or buy carry out. You walk in and are almost overwhelmed with all the goodness to see. The staff are so incredibly friendly and go out of their way to help you find the perfect drink. The beer bar is back to the right corner, where they have always rotating craft beers. Some beers are even offered half pours if you want to try several but not get too drunk lol. There’s a «pour your own wine» station to the back right corner also, where you insert a card into the machine and it pours different size pours into your glass and just charges your tab for whatever wine you try. The pour-your-own wine station has at least 15 maybe 20 different wines to choose from, so you will certainly find plenty you like! Upstairs is another bar, and a free, beautiful, pool table. Impressed! I love playing pool, so this is a nice hidden gem. Both times I’ve been upstairs the bar was closed, so I’m guessing they only open during busy nights. But, there’s waitress service anywhere, so we ordered some apps and cheese plates from the waitress upstairs. Carry out selections of wine and beer are topnotch. Many rare craft beer bottles to go. Also lots of cool glassware for sale. Tons of cheese also, they usually have a free sample out. I love Trio!

A visit to the OBX would not be complete without a stop at Trio Wine, Beer, Cheese. This may not be on a lot of tourist radar with it being still a young business. But believe me… they have a local following that is strong and you will see why when you enjoy a combined shopping and dining adventure like no other in the region. Trio is really like three stores in one and that is just the way it was envisioned by current owners. It suffers no identity crisis as the trio of wine/beer, cheese and restaurant mesh admirably together. The previous shop«Native Vine» was moved from the entrance North of the island at the bridge, to it’s present day location at MM4.5 Kitty Hawk. The shop is now in it’s glory in a busy strip and now has the restaurant side they had yearned for. After looking at some reviews on Unilocal to discover new wine shops I came across this gem. Strong buzz from the thirty-three reviews that pegged this place at almost 5 stars was too attractive to pass up. Parking was not an issue on the day after Thanksgiving, but I could easily see it being a problem«on season». A few rockers adorned the front porch, but I am sure inadequate during peak crowds. The front of the shop was tidy and inviting and I was ready to explore and set at the Copper Bar for a bite to eat. When you first walk in you enjoy some retail items. Yes some of the same things you can find in other stores like wine glasses, cork screws etc. But also unique items as well, like locally made jams and other gourmet type of coffee, tea, spices, nuts, chips and much more. They also have their own branded items of shirts, glasses and mugs. Everything it presented in an organized way and clutter free. The wine/beer area is to the left and back of the shop. It is laid out like most in the varietal of the grape, so it will be easy to locate what you need. They have a stand up chiller if your wanting to walk out with a wine fresh out of the frig. The beer area is to the very back and laid out by region with plenty of Craft, IPA and local brews to North Carolina. There was a gentlemen in this area that was assisting customers and offered to assist me with anything that I needed. The ratio of beer to wine weighs around 80⁄20 to wine. For those cheese lovers I understand the selection is quite large, but what do I know about cheese… notta. But I will play along be impressed because to look at it the case it does indeed seem extensive. Now on to lunch, I planted myself at the bar and was quickly attended to by a nice and attractive bartender/waitress. I immediately got a comfortable feel like I was in a vineyard tasting room. Upon letting her know it was my first visit she went over some essentials of how the area works. They have a menu of bottled wine, or you can choose from the twenty-four wine in the auto dispense cases. The automated machines have an electronic read out of the price of a taste, half, or full glass. A nice variety of both white, red, domestic and foreign was present. A swipe card that is inserted in the machine keeps track of your tab. They also have twenty-four beers on tap and those are on a menu and displayed on a flat screen. Now to the best part of pairing up a wine, or beer with your meal. The staff is completely competent and has great information about choosing a terrific marriage of drink and meal. The BEST news is when you find what you want and enjoy so much you want to buy, every selection at the restaurant is available to purchase in the wine/beer shop I ordered a Aged Gouda and Rare Roast Beef for $ 9.50 and paired with an Italian red and it was a match made in heaven. I elected to upgrade the side for $ 2 and get a Caesar Salad instead of chips. One bite had my taste buds dancing for another. It had to be one of the best Panini I have ever had. The salad was good, not great… some Parmesan cheese would have greatly helped. The menu rotates seasonally so you will often see changes. After conversing with the bartender Kevin a bit I decided on a desert. The Guinness Bread Pudding with Guinness soaked cherries & dulce deleche gelato. The beer is served as a side in a small glass for you to drink with, or pour in the bowl. The taste was good, not great on this desert. However, I will say for someone that likes Guiness and Bread pudding it may be a home run. I am just not a big fan of either, but wanted to stretch my horizons a bit and try a recommended offering. Trio also offers an upstairs dining room that is cozy as all get out. This is where they have a bar for tastings and even a pool table. I could easily see this place as a haunt for small group, or parties. I would not hesitate one bit returning and as a matter of fact did complete three visits in two days and experienced the great level of service on all visits day and night. I have found my home away from home in Trio.
