This bar has so much potential! There’s a bar as soon as you walk in, pool tables, a mini dance floor and a bunch of TVs. I’ve been told they’ve been around for years, but going through new management and renovations now so things should be a lot better for them. Currently they have different specials depending on the day– free pool with 2 drinks, food/appetizer/beers at a cheaper price. Stopped by with a group of friends to watch one of the Seahawks games and the service was great! There were at least 10 different TVs to watch from and the sound system was really good. We ordered burgers, fries and chicken tenders to munch on and it wasn’t bad for bar food. However the beer we ordered on tap(blue moon) tasted really really weird. I’m not sure if it was just old or watered down. Other than that, it’s an overall chill place to watch sports and shoot pool.

I would love Valhalla 100x more if it were closer to me. For what it offers, for those who will know what I mean, it’s totally the Juanita Pub of Rose Hill. Daily activities and food & drink specials, an expansive menu(they serve all the way up until closing, FYI. Late night eats! yay!) 5 or 6 pool tables, ample what could be dance floor/live band staging area, bar stool/table seating that would suit 4 easily spread well throughout and the required couple of old regular dudes. It could use a little facelift, and it is probably a bit crippled day to day due to it’s location – but I haven’t witnessed it on a weekend yet to see if that holds true when the Tequila specials, live bands and 80s nights kick in. I had the«Different Dip», which is corned beef instead of the prime rib on the French. I think compatriot went with a chicken sandwich of some kind. Ugh, I’ll have to remember to ask, because it was very enjoyed. Loved my dip, what a neat twist. Bartender was super friendly and appropriately attentive. Took the time to invite us back, which you’d think would be standard but it struck me how often you don’t really hear that as a matter of course at an establishment most would consider a «dive».(See also: the difference between a dive and a neighborhood watering hole) I’ll visit again to see what’s up on the weekends or to just enjoy having the place nearly to ourselves and test out those tables.

Worst night ever. Went to Latino noche only 12 people there our group of 4 were the ONLY ones charged a cover. When I complained to the owner she brought me my check. Then when we walked out she threw salt out the door. Omg really!!! When we dove away she ran out to our cars like she was going to call the cops for what bad music no tip and charging only us a cover. We will never go back and I had high hopes for this place.

Great place to play pool! Tables are very good and are always open(free, but there is league during some week nights so you won’t always be able to get a table). Owners are cool, drinks are good.

My husband and I love Valhalla!!! We recently found this place. Depending on when you go, I’m pretty sure the atmosphere varies from night to night. We LOVE Friday nights there!!! Not many people there, which is something we love about this casual bar! Jane, the owner/bartender is a genuinely nice person! We look forward to seeing her when we go. :) We heard about the FREE pool which is what brought us in. I have not had anything to drink there besides beer, so I can’t speak for the mixed drinks, but they have good beer on tap & great prices. We usually end up getting a chicken strip basket — which is tasty, but the food is not why we are there ;) As far as music goes, I usually put $ 10 in the jukebox, so I can listen to what I want anyway ;) otherwise a song comes on here and there. We like this place & we will be back!

I was willing to give this bar another chance and hope that it was just a bad night I went on, but then I got this message from Matt Black, aka«Dr. Heckle», host of their comedy shows(warning, it is full of perverse language): From Matt: «Hey Kyle, I had better live up to my asshole, douchebag status and tell you to go fuck yourself. Your business is a joke. I saw your fb page with 5k fake likes. You claim to be a social media expert, but you can’t even get real people to like your page. HA! What a laugh. I have a lot of connections and fans. I’ll be sure to let them know what a fraud you are. FYI, you want to get accounts to help further your lame social media and marketing business? It’s probably not a good idea to go spouting negative shit about businesses on Unilocal.Business owners know each other, dumb shit. Who is going to trust your business when all you do is bad mouth everyone. You have the business sense of a chimp. Actually, probably not. You’re not even that smart.» End of Matt’s message. I won’t waste any time dissecting what he said as it’s sadly inaccurate and grossly offensive. Disappointing that is how they respond to their customers reviews instead of trying to fix the problem or apologize for the negative experience.

I like Valhalla. It’s a family owned business, and a great local pub to hang out, watch the game of the night, play some pool, and grab a bite to eat. I don’t understand some of the other reviews here; it’s not a nightclub, why would you review it as one? It’s not a comedy club, the comedy night is run by a separate entity that uses the space. I’ve been to several comedy nights, mostly all of the comics are young local upstarts, and not that great. Some will surprise with great jokes. I agree with some of the comments, but you have to understand this is not a full time comedy club. I had a great time just capping on some of the weird and wild comics trying to hone their craft. You are not going there to see a highly skilled professional, but the skill level runs from high to low. If you want some great pub food, the prices are great, and every night there’s a special. Try the club sandwich, or the wings. Valhalla has a huge following of local pool players, it’s typical to have a pool tourney happening when you’re there. It’s always been a friendly crowd, all seem respectful. I always enjoy going there, they have a nice beer selection, and well made drinks, at much better prices than downtown Kirkland. There is plenty of space, so it seems great for work groups as well, which typically take one of the long tables for some after work«team building.» .

After shopping at Costco nearby, I come here. It’s located at the Rose Hill Plaza. This place has 4 pool tables and it’s FREEPOOLALLDAY on Sunday & Monday with a 2 drink minimum and FREEPARKING in the lot. 4 stars for the 4 pool tables and 1 for the FREE Parking! They have 20 beers on tap and PBR. What more do I need? They have Daily Specials Noon-7pm so check out the board in front above the bar. I stick to the drink specials. They have Comedy on Fridays and karaōke the other nights. They have a dance floor too with an occasional DJ and live band. The Red Room lounge next to the pool table is great for private parties and has it’s own tv. This is a great place to come watch a game, hang out, throw darts, and shoot some pool. Typical bar food but good. This is an unpretentious eastside bar, the closest thing to a dive bar one could find in Kirkland. I have had excellent service here but that’s also because I order from the bar and from the owner and usually come during the day or early evening. Once you’re a regular the service is always excellent!

Got the Living Social deal. Used it tonight on the Heckles Comedy show deal. My first time there. Comedians? not great(sorry). The food? meh. We ordered Fish & Chips and spinach dip. The crinkle cut fries(probably from a bag) were the best part. Prices were okay. But the service? horrible. And this is the reason I am writing this. The server needed more help. Didn’t refill my date’s coke. Couldn’t come to the table to even take our order. The food took forever(but was hot at least). At the end of the 2.5 hour ordeal, I was overcharged by one drink and disputed the bill. Nicely, but they insisted I had a third drink. Then the owner and the server argued about where they took the drink that I supposedly ordered, and acted like I still had to pay for it. I had been standing there for a while, and at one point I just said, «Let’s be honest, this night wasn’t kinda horrible» But of course when I said that, the comedian on stage bombed a joke and the place was quiet.(sorry!!!) Still trying to be nice, I told the server, «nothing against you…(even though they were essentally calling me a liar) but couldn’t finish: the server got emotional and told me «you’ve done enough!» and ran back to the kitchen. Bizarre, but I think he had just had enough and took it all out on me. It was funny and strange and I felt sorry for him all at the same time. But the«best» part was that I think the owner took my picture and said the cameras would show that I had 3 drinks. Yeah… nope. I didn’t. At that point I wondered if I was being punked or something! When we got out to the parking lot, another customer asked what happened. He said he’d been there before, had suspected he’s been overcharged a few times and has heard this from others before. This guy said that because he had had a lot to drink he didn’t feel sober enough to dispute. That was NOT the case for us. It sounds like this a typical thing for Valhalla. I wouldn’t go back. Ever. Besides the fact that I think I somehow got banned for disputing my bill. But if you go, watch your bill and don’t drink too much!

I got a «Living Social» deal online for 2 tickets to a comedy show, 2 beers and 1 appetizer for $ 17! Yes I said $ 17! One of the better deals I’ve found on there! It was very hassle free, they scanned the barcode at the door and handed us our beer and appetizer tickets. The FREE beers were only good on «domestics»(Bud, Bud Light, Miller and PBR) and my friends gave the bartender 2 tickets for 1 good beer(Hef). It was cool they let them do that, but I opted for the free(piss) beer! We had a total of 6 in our group so we had 3 free appetizers.(We also picked up another appetizer ticket because some random stranger gave us his ticket because he had to go! Hooray for random acts of kindness!) We chose the cheese sticks, wings, taquitos and poppers. All decent happy hour fare, but the grease smell was pretty strong(gag)! The comedy show was ok… I’ve been to 2 others and they had better comics. Don’t get me wrong the comics had their funny«bits» … but it just wasn’t the funniest show I have been to… BUT it did make for a great night out for me and my friends… not to mention a CHEAP night too! Cheap is always good, especially on a budget!

Bottom line, this place is a little hidden treasure in an unassuming package, with great bar food, cheap prices, and GREAT service. What more could you ask for from a dive bar? Will definitely be back! We stepped into this place completely by chance on a rainy Wednesday afternoon hungry for lunch(my husband liked the name which is apparently from Thor, major nerd alert!) and were at first not even sure if it was open. Very dark inside with not a soul in sight. However, the owner and his wife immediately greeted us and couldn’t have been friendlier! The food was great(buffalo chicken fingers, spinach artichoke dips, and side salads) and very cheap(as a dive bar should be). We warmed up to the place almost immediately. Now that we know that this place is also pretty busy on nights with live music and stand up comedians, we will definitely be back!

I don’t know why this place only has an average of three stars — it’s a fun place to go for the evening — and, or course, the best night to go is 80’s night! The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the drinks can be expensive(if you’re not drinking the house deal of the evening) and the dance floor is a little small for the kinds of crowds which come here.

This place is alright I guess. I came here for my 21st birthday and came at midnight on Sunday. I guess they do 80s night on Saturdays so I was expecting 80s music… but didn’t really hear any. I’m pretty sure I heard more 90s music which is ok but I tried to request a song(a popular song from today) and they didn’t do it since«it’s ‘80s night.» Weird. The place is pretty much just a huge warehouse type place with a big dance floor and the bar right in the middle. Drinks were ok, I was just trying to get wasted so it didn’t really matter, haha. Will I go back? Maybe. I’ll look for other options first, though.

Large open space, with pool tables and a dance floor. The bartender was annoyed with me for only ordering a soft drink. She made it clear I was not important to her. We were here to see a band, and even though they are pretty good, the sound here was awful. It was nice to see such a huge stage for a band to perform on though. Probably wouldn’t go back. The drinks(that the other in my party had) were not that great.

Came here for a friend’s birthday for supposively 80’s night. The bartender was friendly & the drinks were strong, almost too strong for my liking. You can play pool for $ 1.00 which lasted me almost an hour & a half since I suck at playing pool. I ordered mozerella sticks & chicken wings. The usual bar food, fried & greasy but isn’t all bar food like that? Just sayin’ Would I go back? No, not my type of bar & for a Friday night, it wasn’t crowded at all.

This is a great place to go and be chill. They have a dance floor, some pool tables and large TVs. The prices are good and there is standard pub food. There is plenty of parking and makes for a nice alternative to downtown Kirkland.

For a strip mall bar, Valhalla is great! They have a dance floor &4 pool tables. Most nights either have karaōke or a dj. Pool league plays there a few nights each week. The food is good, as are the service and the prices. If you want to play pool, they have the best 8′ tables that I know of on the east side. They are fast, good rails, level and honest. The owners are there almost all the time. Love them! They do a great job! And, as an added bonus… LOL! There is a Chinese massage parlor next door. They do a $ 251hr foot massage. It’s really a full body massage with an herbal foot soak. It’s great! I usually schedule time to do the massage whenever going to Valhalla. ;)(the massage parlor is open until 11pm.)

Valhalla is a decent place to grab some drinks with friends, or play a few games of pool. Prices are better then downtown Kirkland, and the staff is pretty friendly as well. Words of warning: this is STILL Kirkland and the cops are ruthless about hunting for people to hand out DUI’s to. If you are drinking at Valhalla, grab a cab, or have a DD, cause if you are driving, you are going to get busted. It’s not Valhalla’s fault per se, their location is just unfortunate.

My office is near-by so we often(sometimes more frequently then others) head over here after work. You know at 4 o’clock in the afternoon for a beer before calling it a day. Service is usually ok. The crowd can be a bit iffy. I went here once for a bachlorette party– not the best idea in the world– again the crowd can be a bit iffy. Food is ok.
