Ummm… I have 2 words to describe this place: meat market. People don’t really dance on the dance floor. I got bored pretty quickly. I’m not a big clubber, but man this was just bad… It was really hard to get a drink at the bar, and when you did… it wasn’t very impressive.

This place is absolutely horrible. I went here for a happy hour, and while my friend & I were pleased to see the freindly prices of their daily specials, it soon became apparent that the quality of their drinks & food hits rock bottom. It’s a shame because they have a nice spacious patio section, and it’s in a good location/downtown Kirkland. Somebody told me this place turns into a club on certain nights, however, so if maybe that’s their main business? Regardless, I’ll never go back to this place again.

I’ve been to The Shark Club, AKA Sharky’s, twice now. Not really a «club” – people don’t really go there to dance. Dancing doesn’t really take place until around midnight, so you’ll just drink, play pool, and hang out until then. There are lots of nooks to find more private spots. The music isn’t great, but it’s livable. If you’re looking to find somebody, Sharky’s isn’t a choice meat market like LSC, but… you might get lucky.

The first time I went to the Shark Club was a couple years ago. I left with no desire to ever return. Some weirdo kept playing Smack My Bitch Up on the jukebox over and over and over and the staff wouldn’t even skip it after the second time it played. We politely told the bartenders why we were leaving and went elsewhere. There weren’t really any redeeming qualities to the place and I basically forgot about it until now. When I found myself back at the Shark Club last night to see Dirt Nasty attempt to perform, I felt like I was immersed in the real life incarnation of (only substitute ‘hot’ with ‘trashy’). The 2 ½ hours we spent before the 5 or 6 song«show» were filled with played-out club hits from 5 – 10 years ago. Seriously, one of the worst DJ’s I’ve experienced in a long time, even for a crap bar like this. At one point the music stopped because he walked away and didn’t have anything queued up(not that I didn’t mind the break). If we hadn’t all paid $ 16 each to see Dirt Nasty, we wouldn’t have stayed for more than one drink.

So… I like the location, just because I like the downtown Kirkland waterfront and being able to see the water and moon while I’m inside. I also liked the comfortable couches that were in the VIP section(we sat there for a while while there was room) and Dirt Nasty’s performance(even though it only consisted of about 5 songs because he was… wasted, or something). Over-all, though, this place was underwhelming. It seems to have a decent set-up, but… no soul. That certain kind of energy that’s so wonderful about some venues just wasn’t there. One pretty nice thing, though, was that we ended up with a free drink because the first time around the bartender took our $ 5(for a beer), gave us a beer and $ 5, and ran away to go deal with everybody else in line. I guess he assumed we gave him a 10?(Normally I’d say something, but this time we figured we’d be waiting forever to do that and we’d be buying more drinks and tipping him more as the night wore on, so… whatever.) The crowd seemed to mostly be people in their 20s. There was music you could dance to(new Britney Spears, some gigolo song from a couple years back, some songs from like 10 years ago, etc), but mostly people seemed to stick to drinking, sitting/standing around, and/or playing pool. I was kind of bored for most of our time there. I considered drinking more, but the lines were long and the one screwdriver I had was pretty gross.(This could be because I like to make drinks at home, and my screwdrivers usually have natural OJ and grey goose vodka… so– way different quality.) We were somewhat tempted to leave, but then found out that Dirt Nasty was finally going to perform(event started at 9pm, he went on at midnight)), so we stayed until just after his performance ended(~12:30am). I like Kirkland, but I have no love for the Shark Club…

This place is a dump, it used to be a nice hangout about three years ago, but then all the trash came up from the boonies and turned it into a cess pool. Guys are nasty, girls are nasty, the whole atmosphere is nasty. It’s definitely not worth the cover charge they’re asking for. I think it was $ 5 or $ 10 the last time I was there.

They have Guiness, so it automatically gets a nod. They remodeled recently, so it’s nicer inside with the couches. I basically only go there to see one of my favorite bands in the area: Mister Miyagi. Good place.

This place is pretty dirty. Community college drop out social club. The crowd is horrible, and at best you will be able to view it as humorous event. However, drinks are reasonably priced, but VERY weak. Even radio promo nights doesn’t seem to draw a better crowd. Pool was free, which was only redeeming quality. Place may have been fun when you were 17 – 18?

This place is such a nasty pick up bar with no seating… only tiny tables wrapped around the support beams to belly up to and set your drink down. The floors are cement and it smells like stale beer and cigarettes. People go to side of the building and vomit, and drunk sex leaving their condoms or gloves behind. The crowd that the Shark attracts is not the usual Kirkland people but from somewhere else… almost a gang like atmosphere. When we were leaving that was a couple of cop cars out in the parking lot and I asked one of the officers if there was something going on and he said they watch the park for drug dealings from people from the Shark. i would never go there again even if someone paid me!

If you like being stalked and humped on by 30 year old desperate men, or an empty bar/dance floor, or terrible drinks, or a dj that plays really bad music and won’t take requests(because he says it’ll ruin the dance vibe — the one that no is dancing too), or being watched by the few people that are there and then later getting in an argument with a hick, then this place for you. Seriously did we really pay cover for this place? Shoot how many times did our guy friends have to box out the creepy white guy? And really a dj that is more into himself than realizing that nobody is dancing to his bad choice of music(an Ipod and speakers would work better than paying that guy) Lots of problems here… stay home kids or at least avoid this place and go somewhere else

yuck, dude. this guy i went on one date told me to meet him here and from the looks of the place and the people that frequent it, he had only one thing on his mind. this place takes the Skeeze Cake. one star i guess for having a smoking patio. that’s something, right? oh, and lots of cops breaking up fights and stalking the outside for tipsy drivers. i mean STALKING. you better cab back. or, hell, not go at all! *joy

When the bar is empty, when there are empty tables and chairs everywhere, and when the line(which you try to make classy by having red carpet) is as lifeless as Mars, you should not charge cover. It makes no sense to me but because I was intoxicated and the group I was with was desperate, we paid and we entered. I should note here that the most important premise of this pieces can be summed up in two words: Drunken & Desperate This was my first time experiencing downtown Kirkland at night. I was a bit disappointed. During the day it’s bustling with commotion. People fill the streets, cafes and restaurants are always filled, but at night it’s quite different. The Shark was not the greatest of introductions into the K-Land evening scene. It was dingy and dark. It wasn’t «intimately dimmed» or anything classy like that. Instead it looked like an empty ally that lets in some glare from near by street lamps. The drinks were not expensive, but they were watered down and unspectacular. I’ll be the first to admit that I might have caught this place on a bad night. But the experience was unspectacular enough for me not to care if this place was in fact great, or would simply be swallowed up into the earth never to be seen again.

Just a typical dive bar. Wait for some good music to stop by and enjoy, else pass unless dive bars are your thing

This place has really gone down since the first time I went there. I loved the bands they used to have but not so much anymore. Besides that it’s a nice place to hang out with friends and have a good time. They have a really nice staff working there and it’s not completely covered in one age group. I always see people from all walks of life there, plus walking the waterfront at night is always fun!

I was there last saturday and might go this weekend too. Not the best club I have ever visited but not bad either. I wouldnt describe it as a night clube nor as a bar. It’s somewhere in between. Local group plays a lot over here(not the best) but still its nice to groove on their tunes. Floor is not bad either. There were a quite a few attractive people so shouldnt be a bore. Cover charge is high for the size of the club. Alcohol prices are from mediocre to high. Pool is fun.

I spent many a Thursday or Friday night at this place in my early 20s. What is really scary is the same Bartenders are STILL working there :) A great place to dance your booty off when your can’t be arsed to drive over to the westside. Great friendly bartenders! Mixed crowd of «Just-21s» and older couples. They do bikini contests weekly in the summer which appeals to the corporate eastside beer crowd. Has had a nice makeover over the last few years. Definitely worth a second trip if you have not been in the past 5 years and want to down come redbull-vodkas.

Yes, you do have to pay cover but — there is something for everyone here… Music, pooltables, nice bar, and tons of deck for the ladies and gents who enjoy cocktails on the patio — so fun in the summer!

I dug it. This place is probably pretty nutty on weekends, but on a Sunday night it’s a chill place loaded with pooltables, and boasts one of the better jukeboxes in town.

My friend and I came here to check out the nightlife on the eastside. It was Friday of Memorial Day, no cover, and drink specials, what more can a girl ask for? Rosie put it like I never could, the inside of a club looks like a bar that you would find in Mexico — very beachy, tiki-torch inspired. There are booths on the ouside walls as well as a lot of tables for you to sit at if you don’t feel like joining in the dancing by the DJ booth at the back. There are also some couches as well as an awesome outside deck that overlooks the Kirkland Marina and the water. Too bad it was a bit cold and rainy outside. This would be an ideal place to come to with a whole bunch of your girlfriends to have a good time, dance up a storm, and pick up a number or four. The drinks are cheap at $ 6 a pop and come pretty strong. Mmm, lemon drops(= The only reason this is getting a three from me is that it takes a while for the bartenders to get you your drink, other than that, it’s a pretty good bar, the DJ was excellent. I could do away with the girls shaking their wobbly bits on stage, we’re not IN Mexico.

I can’t believe i’m the first to review this place. Where are you Eastsiders hiding? The Shark was my hang out during my divorce, and shortly thereafter! I called it «Social Alcohol Therapy». At the bar, you will find — Chase and Pauly. I could tell you some stories about these guys — but maybe I shouldn’t. Be sure to message me if you want the dirt! The Shark is filled with people of all ages and walks of life. My cousin and I brought a 40 something co-worker with us to see if we could get him some action… we think he chickened out. Good Drinks, fun music — a lot of local bands play here, so check their website for the schedule! The only thing I disliked was the sometimes steep cover. $ 10 – 20 for this club seemed a little high — although some nights it was $ 5 or free. Be prepared to laugh at 1:30am though — when they abruptly pull the plug on the music and flip on all the lights. You will see some people stunned at how ugly their«hook-up» is in the bright lights!!! I’ve had many-a-fun-time at this bar, and would recommend you do the same. If you aren’t in to dancing — they have quite a bit of good seating for groups and pool tables too!
