I’ve only tried the Pomme Frites, but I’m giving 5 stars based on the fries. I love French fries, but so hard to find ones that are really good. I like my fries crispy, and a lot of places don’t make it like that. Well, here, they are hot and crispy, just the way I like it. They were so good! I didn’t care too much for the aioli sauce that came with it; it was a little too sweet for me. But with fries this good, who needs to dip it? And it is decently-priced; it’s not $ 10 for some fries, like some of these other food trucks out here.

Wow. I was getting off to a skeptical start because it was taking a long time, but I also realized that I’d gotten there just as they opened. I started to realize while my stomach was rumbling from the good smells in my boxes on the walk back to my office that this was going to be worth the wait. Pork Belly Bao, excellent, not too sweet. Great little gingery garnish. The Kalbi has a great marinade and is perfectly grilled. The mayo garlic sauce is awesome. Great truck!

I used to like this food truck. Perhaps, management has changed. The food has gone down hill. The pork burger is way better at Facing East for the same price.

Planning a party? The Box on Wheels is the way to go! Fantastic food, generous portions, and friendly folks. Reis was amazing to work with and his food was the star of my husband’s 50th birthday celebration. Everything was delicious– from the chopped salad, to the skewers, to the Pork Belly Bao.

We now have food trucks everyday in Bothell North Creek. For the days like this week that I didn’t prepare anything, it’s perfect! Walked over during lunch hour and ordered my karaake plate to go. It was a wait. But, it’s a good sign! I got my food and walked back to eat. Holy moly! It’s a very generous portion. I was super happy. I split my food into two and finished in one hour apart. First, I started with they called half size«chop chop salad» Oh my! If it’s half size, what full size would be. Super generous there! And, I like it! Then, I started eating the entrée. Two scoops of rice and karaage. It doesn’t look like there’s a lot. But when you start eating, it’s filling up you! The Box is my new favorite Fusion! I really enjoyed every bite of it! I’d like to try something different when I see them over next time!

Love their food and their generous portions! And the creativity of their salads and mains. No wonder the lines are long. Try to be there at their start of business to avoid the wait. Most of all, they are so friendly you just want to buy more from them!

Wow! We hired The Box to cater a party at our house and they did an incredible job! We hosted a Hawaiian theme party and wanted terrific food — we’d enjoyed their food before. Reis was great to work with, arranging all the details over email, and he even specialized the menu to accommodate our vegetarian and gluten free guests. The day of the party, they artfully presented delicious food which enjoyed by everyone. Chicken Kaarage, grilled shrimp, kalua pork bao, vegetarian bao, tofu watercress salad. The food was terrific and they were wonderful to work with. Highly recommend!

I had my sights set on pork buns today and this hit the spot. Not sure if they rotate their locations weekly or if they keep the same schedule. Either way, today they were in Bothell and it took me 15 minutes to find the place, I almost gave up, but glad I didn’t. It was not busy at all. I got the pommes frites with yuzu aioli sauce, Kalua pork bun and the pork belly bun. If my stomach were any bigger, I would’ve tried everything on the menu. The fries were delish, and the aioli was perfection. The buns were small and cute and most importantly sooo good! The meat was tender and flavorful and the greens/sauce in it really topped it off. I would drive(almost) anywhere to get my hands on those buns again.

We love The Box so much we had them cater our wedding. I cannot recommend them more! We get cravings for their food all the time and wish they would come out to the Seattle area more. Their prices are great and the portions are fabulous. The food… is sooooo good! For our wedding we had the beef skewers, chicken karaage, and vegetarian chili plate as options for our guests — they all came with the chop chop salads. Everything was delicious. Reis and his wife are the nicest people, super easy to work with, and we felt like they went above and beyond. They made us feel special on our wedding day and we were so happy to have them there. We received so many compliments from our friends and family on the food and how everything was setup. If you are considering a food truck for any occasion where catering is involved — we highly, highly recommend them! And if you haven’t tried their food… it is a must.

Not bad. I had the pork belly bao and kalua pork baos, together I’d consider it a substantial snack or a light meal; for ~$ 6 it’s reasonable. I really liked the Kalua pork for its fresh ingredients and really porky flavor. I thought the pork belly was pretty similar to most other pork belly baos I’ve had, but a bit fattier. I’d go back for the kalua bao next time.

One of the pictures shows cash only, thank heaven for Square and that no longer being the case, or at least at the City Center Plaza in Bellevue. This food truck is an outstanding value. The service is what you would expect for a 5 star restaurant. They have personable staff who actually take the time to stop what they are doing to listen and interact with you. The menu is rather small, but what they do sell they do great at. The bagel hamburger may seem like a poor value, that is unit you try it and see the quality of the ingredients and that it is not your pizza bagel sized appetizer, but actually contains a pretty generous amount of fresh beef and toppings. The french fries and sauce are out of this world yummy. For the price, you will receive about a medium sized fast food french fry serving that is 100 time better and fresher. This is a place I will without question visit again and would even walk further on my lunch break to enjoy a meal from The Box.

This IS my favorite food truck in Seattle. I don’t know why food trucks are so expensive here, I tend to avoid them because if they food is just OK I feel ripped off. That’s why i like The Box, good value/portion/quality ratio. That’s what is great about them, really fresh ingredients and every dish has a great ratio of ingredients. I’ve tried everything they have and I like ‘em all! I always order the Kalbi Yakiniku. $ 11 gets you half a chop chop salad, 3 beef skewers pickles and rice. I really enjoy their chop chop salad. Chop Chop Salad It’s not one of those afterthought salads, it’s got a sweet sesame creamy dressing with good amounts of cubed ham, cheese and tomatoes with chopped lettuce. I don’t like tomatoes! But they really fit with this salad and the ratio of ingredients is just right. Beef Skewers Always a good sized piece of flavorful tender beer. The garlic aioli is a really nice finish and they always have a great«char/broiled» flavor Bagel Burger Got on a whim, and WOW. it’s not as small as I thought it would be. Beef has the same char flavor as the skewers. Juicy(but not messy!) patty. Keep an eye on the slaw portion and this is an easy walk and eat choice. Bagel is tender but firm and the crunchy cabbage and the BBQ sauce are so tasty. Karaage I shy away from this just because I’m not a big dark meat person, but it’s always really fresh and crispy with a tangy sweet sauce. Bao Their bao are good! Kinda small so I don’t order often, but the meat is always super tender and tasty. Another good example of how they are excellent at the portions of ingredients within a dish. Never a bland bite no matter what you get and no need for extra sauces or condiments. I approve! ;-)

It was delicious! They came by as a catering for my company’s event last weekend. The food was delicious. I tried their pork belly bao, mini bagel burger and fries. Everything tasted really good. Especially the burger! The patty was super juicy and tender. NOM. Can’t wait to see them around again.

Loved it! I got 2 lunches from the truck, and ended up eating some of my hubby’s too! But the best part IMO was the salad — I talked him out of his salad so I could have more!

Where I work there is limited space for food trucks; there is only a handful of location in DT Bellevue. The Box was a find from my commute to work. I was flying solo for lunch and wanted to do a pick up. I got the Pork Belly Bao, Kalua Pork Bao and half a Chop Chop Salad. The Baos were two biters, the pork belly had a generous cut; it was so juicy and melted in your mouth. It was dripping with flavor, if you have an bun left make sure to sop up the last drop. The Kalua bao was just as tasty but a little sweeter but was balanced with the tomato relish. The chop chop was filling and that was a surprise by its shear size. As I picked up my order, my first initial thought was, is this my complete order, are they missing a box? Nope it was the full order; I must be conditioned to expect huge plates as portion sizes in america is out of control. The best part of the salad is the dress, it honestly was so light you didn’t know it was there, it complimented all the components. The apples were a burst of added sweetness and crunch. I will definatly be back to try more of the menu.

I have to say I’m the opposite to Jing S. when it comes to The Box. Yes, the hum baos are good, but for someone trying to do Paleo, those are off limits. Today I ordered the Kalbi Yakiniku because it’s a perennial favourite of mine — I LOVE their sauce! And the chop-chop salad is a pretty darn good salad, and I’m not a fan of salads(which makes Paleo a bit of an extra challenge). Would have been nice if I could get a dollar or two off for declining the rice. More for everyone else, I guess!

Time for an update. Giving the five stars. The Box is officially my most frequented and favorite food truck in Seattle. This has partially to do with the location of The Box as it is serves the Microsoft campus on a weekly basis and a regular on the food truck event scene, especially at ones held at the Renton Uwajimaya store. As I mentioned in my previous review, one of my high school classmate’s spouse runs this truck. Though that would make me a bit biased, I assure you the offerings here are really tasty. I would not frequent a spot as much as I do, if it wasn’t. I have tried everything on the menu except the kalbi yakiniku plate. Their hum baos are delectable. Particularly the pork belly hum bao. The chicken karaage plate is my main go-to item. The chicken is fried wonderfully with a nice sweet sauce to it. And the accompanying chop salad is addictive and worth getting on its own. On my last visit, I tried the mini bagel burger and pomme frites(french fries). The bagel burger is a change of pace from the usual sliders offering. The burger itself is a combination of pork and beef which kind of reminds me of the meat mixture in pot stickers/gyoza except in a bun here. The french fries here are like McDonald’s fries(texture/shape wise), except they are nice and crisp and come with a sweet yuzu dipping sauce. The Box made an appearance at last year’s Mobile Food Rodeo event in Seattle, but generally has been a Eastside food truck. This is fine by me as I like it in close proximity, but I feel like Seattleites are missing out on the awesomeness of this truck. Though there are a lot of Asian food trucks out there, I feel the offerings here are unique which makes The Box standout. I swear that I am only .1 biased in my adoration. You will love this truck.

So here’s the dealio — the one bad thing I can say about The Box is that I don’t get to see them enough. I would LOVE to see them on a regular basis because they are… the bomb! I was surprised when reviewing my list that I had not reviewed them before(I’m going back to review some of the more established food trucks since I switched over to Unilocal earlier this year). The Box doesn’t have a regular Seattle route and while that makes me very sad, I completely understand that there is life outside of my fair city. All I know is this — when I hear The Box is in the house — I’m in! At special events in Seattle, you’ll find me in the short line standing in front of the truck. I’m only joking, the line is typically impressively long and I am happy to stand in it for as long as it takes to get my food. Friendly service with a smile, quick food turnaround and reasonable prices. What is not to love y’all? Absolutely nothing. I won’t speak about the social media aspect since I tend to not follow them closely as I know about large food truck events in Seattle ahead of time and I carefully scan the list looking for those magic words each time. When I find their name, I smile to myself and absolutely know what I’ll be doing that day. The food, oh, the food! For $ 2.50 you can get kalua pork hum bao and before you ask, yes you should get it. In fact, get as many bao as you can, savor the flavor of each and beg for more. As if that weren’t enough, chicken karaage. Oh, my. If you don’t know what chicken karaage is, you must try for yourself. I’m not sure my words do it justice. Again, friendly service, quick food, great tasting food, at the right price equals on of my favorite trucks on the road as I quietly wait in anticipation for the next time I may see them again.
