Smart Start of Washington

Horrible company. They installed a defective device in my vehicle. The supposed 24 hr support does not exist. The automated system hung up on me twice. 4 days later I still have no response to my email. I work nights and was stranded at work after I got a pass. This is the 2^nd time I’ve had this problem. They won’t reimburse for taxi or Über rides. What a flipping joke! They’ll take your money but won’t come out to you when their equipment fails.

PLEASE READ. Because of their defective equipment over and over again its cost me $ 1200 for 5 different tow bills so far I haven’t been reimbursed a thing, 4 days missed work, hours and hours of my time, and their customer service reps are so rude and make you wait forever. One day my interlock started malfunctioning at a lumber yard. Just wouldn’t work. Called smart start, was on hold for 30 min. They said I would have to get my car towed to the service center. I did, haven’t been reimbursed yet. They said it was a bad head unit. They switched it out. It started doing same thing again the next day. Driving home the headlights stopped in the dark. Got home safe but interlock wouldn’t work to start up again. Had to be towed in again on a Saturday. I made an appointment for the mukilteo location but when I got there with the tow truck no one was there. I called in and they said my appointment was switched to the burden location but the technician forgot to call me. So I had to have my car towed home. The next Monday had my car towed to the everett location. They transferred it into another one of my vehicles. Now it’s Wednesday and I’m stuck at jobsite with another bad head unit. Now I have to pay for another tow. This ones about 50 miles.

The guy who installed my interlock at the Bellevue location punctured the pressure hose for my turbo gauge when he installed the camera. I had to buy a new one, pull my dash and rerun the line.

First problem: I drive a Nissan 350z, They didn’t hook up my unit properly so I got stranded at work because the wire wasn’t properly connected to my battery so i had to pay a tow truck to take it back and get it fixed (DID NOT REIMBURSE TOW BILL).
Second problem: After they said they fixed my unit, I was driving to work, Standard 5 min blow test, I blow, and pass. My ALARM starts to go off. i pull over and call Smart Start support. They can’t do anything, They told me to drive to Smart Start with my alarm going off or get it towed. So i had to drive 12 miles with my alarm going off on the freeway. The most mortifying experience of my life. (NO REIMBURSEMENT)
Most Recent Problem: I work 50 – 60 hr a week and when I finally got time to go and get calibration, they are closed so I left my car there so that i wouldn’t need to tow it there later. Instead of my $ 70 dollar fee, they charge me $ 160 for lockout fees plus calibration at the Kirkland location. (I just set up for my uninstall to go through a different company)
I know I got a DUI and don’t have many rights right now but does that give them the right to practically rob me of my time, money, and sabotage my car? I don’t have enough words to explain how bad this company is.
