Precision Collision

I have been meaning to write this review for sometime, my car was in a hit and run accident, the perpetrator was caught but he didnt have any insurance. So there I was filing a claim on my 6 month old car as an uninsured motorist claim. New to the US I quickly realized that collisions is a separate industry here and dealers don’t have body shops.
My service dealership told me about ABRA and this was a nearby ABRA dealer. To give them credit their quotes were the lowest of all I had taken so even though my insurance was paying for all of it, I decided to go with them.
It took my insurance two tries to get a check across to them, I had to keep checking in to see if they had received my check or not. Once they received my check, the GM of the place Scott did ignore a few of my emails confirming my appointment which I thought was unprofessional.
The drop off of the car too was eventful, the receptionist and the person who checked-​in my car (Raymond) were super polite, as I was done I waited for the shuttle in which the GM of the place came.
He totally ignored me despite me going upto him and introducing myself (I had been emailing him for weeks). Infact the receptionist too was a little taken aback by why is her GM being rude to a customer and not even acknowledging him. She further introduced us again, hoping her GM would take the cue, he said something like ‘Yeah, yeah’. Was not a happy puppy then, but decided to ignore, maybe he was just having a bad morning.
During the repair process I was kept mostly updated via SMS, they found some additional damage which my insurance company (Esurance is awesome !) approved. No issues during this time and it was nice getting daily updates and they delivered on their commitment date.
On the pickup date I reached to find my car parked right outside, it looked like it had been cleaned, however the driver side mat was dirty with white stains all over it which I noticed only later since they had some paper over it. And there was a lot of white powder and stain on the repaired and surrounding areas. The nice man Raymond brought out glass cleaner and started cleaning the car. He told me my satisfaction was of paramount importance. The dent and scratches were no longer visible and the paint matched, so I took delivery and thanked him for his time.
I got a post delivery survey from ABRA in which due to the above points (and one of my tail lights now being loose), I gave them average ratings. This did not go well with the GM of the place who sent me a mail that he will make things right, awesome I thought.
I sent a followup with regards to what the issues were and here is where I think he handled it extremely poorly, all the previous average experiences are nothing compared to how bad I felt here. He replied that they never touched the taillights and as though he would be doing me a favor by offering to adjust them. I felt a bit accused over here that I was lying or my 6 month old car mysteriously had developed the gaps and I was trying to scam him. I sent him photos which were used by insurance company to judge the claim which didn’t have the gap. To this he replied that he would make any and all adjustments needed to fix.
However it was too little, too late, after all this I wouldn’t even feel comfortable going to their shop, and going to get stuff fixed to them, no chance. If I even have to claim warranty on ABRA, I would goto another ABRA shop and not them.
I believe they are good and hard working people, however they need to work on customer relations and niceness. They take their business for granted which I believe can lead to less of it for them in the future.

I went to get an estimate for my car that somebody crashed into. The guy who did the estimate wasn’t that nice or courteous, when he found out I didn’t have information on insurance of the person who hit my car yet and that I was just trying to find out an estimate without wanting to commit until I have further discussion within my household and my counterpart. The person was trying to find out if she should settle outside of insurance or let the insurance under her son-​in-​law take care of it). He proceeded to tell me, with the face that seemed annoyed to have to do the estimate, that I should do this and do that in case of accident (well, my job was to take the care to get the estimate! I wasn’t there when the accident happened and wasn’t the first person who was there to discuss the accident with my counterpart!). I didn’t appreciate that the guy seem to look down on me (perhaps because I’m a female – and presumably don’t know much about car?).
Overall, I ended up getting 2 additional estimates from other nearby places. And even though their prices seemed reasonable, because of how I felt I was treated, I took my business elsewhere.

In a MVA? Oh wait? Didn’t know what a MVA was until you were in one? Motor. Vehicle. Accident.
Precision Collision is sick. My 2008 Toyota Highlander was recently rear-​ended on I-​5 and munched up pretty good. Imagine my surprise while I was in the fray dealing with insurance claim nonsense when I received a brief text message letting me know the car was there and its status! Really? I didn’t ask for an update only two days into the process, and seriously didn’t expect one! I continued to received these updates over the span of the two weeks my Highlander was in their service. And who gives a rip about texts??? General Manager, Scott Schilperoot, PERSONALLY emailed me multiple times IN ADDITION to the text messages. I never once had to call, text, email or initiate contact with anyone at Precision Collision or ask a question; they have GOT THEIR BASES COVERED! :) When, and if I did email Scott back asking for clarification in an email, he responded within an hour.
This is not one of those grease-​laden, smelly, old-​guy-​walking-​around-​smoking-​cigarettes body shops. Their waiting room is nicer than some doctor’s offices I’ve been to; warm and inviting, clean and friendly.
If you’ve read my reviews, you know how big I am about customer service. Clearly Precision Collision has got that dialed in. One of the biggest things to go back to them for? They guarantee the work they’ve done for as long as you own the vehicle. My husband and I will definitely return for any and all work we need and/​or want done on our vehicles! Talk about a ray of sunshine in the middle of a car accident pile of crap!

I side swiped my car against a pole backing out of a tight parking spot — bummer! I took a chance on this shop as it is a USAA preferred shop — it was close to home and I had a great experience with the Bellevue location years ago. Don’t expect a phone call updating you on the status of your vehicle — expect an e-​mail which eventually shows up with a suggested and not firm pick up date, and absolutely no response to your follow-​up questions or concerns. Moreover don’t expect all damage to be caught and fixed up front — I had to return in order to get all work done. Granted, apologies were offered on the missed work, but if you want the work done right the first time and prompt clear communication I would look somewhere else.

My daughter was borrowing our jeep for a few weeks while her car needed some maintenance and a license. The last unexpected, frosty day on the Sammamish plateau took it’s tole on the jeep on the last turn on her way to work. She hit a parch of ice and gracefully slid over to the curb. The guy behind her wasn’t quite as graceful and clipped the taillight and bumper, putting a huge dent in it. His insurance was USAA, and Precision Collision was their preferred provider. I had the estimate done and was going to take it to one of the shops I have been to in the past. They took over the space of one of the shops, so I was down to one choice plus they offered free shuttle service. That made them easier than the other choices.
They looked at the estimate, the jeep and ordered the parts. The next week I took it in, got a ride home and 2 days later got a ride back to pick it up. Since the damage was so minor I really don’t have a clue what their work is actually like. Their office staff, manager and shuttle driver are great! From their knowledge and what they said and the tiny bit the did, it looks like quality work. I would definitely give them a try if you need some body work done.
