If you’re looking for affordable competitive team sports, especially volleyball, on the Eastside, check out the Kirkland Parks department/​website. I’ve been playing in competitive co-​ed and women’s volleyball leagues there (at Kamiakin Jr. High in North Kirkland) for years and would surely die if I didn’t play there at least once a week. Tony and Justin do a stellar job of keeping the schedules and stats straight and making sure the nets are in working order every week. There’s also open gym on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday nights, but the level of play is a mish-​mash of rec players and competitive players, so that can be «interesting». –Love the league play — good people, good fun!
