Sadly, this place has lost a star and dropping for me. They no longer do trivia(and haven’t for some time) They have had some large employee turn-over A recent addition in barista has absolutely ruined my order 3x in a row. Now, I only go when I see it’s the owner working… as though she can sometimes be a little abrupt, she makes my drink perfectly every time.

The coffee is great and prices are good but the owner is not very friendly so I have stopped going there. There are tons of coffee shops within a mile from this place so no need to go there and receive unfriendly service.

I stopped by today, in the middle of a snow and ice storm and they were open. I had their special Snowball Mocha and it was fantastic. They are always nice, upbeat and make great coffee!

This place has changed ownership a couple of times since I started going here as a teenager, but it has always been a decent place for a latte or mocha. It’s always been one of two places that I would stop on my way to church when I was attending in that area and even if I don’t stop to get something, I love looking at the daily trivia question they have up when I’m passing by to go to my parent’s house — they are not very easy, let me tell you! It’s a nice local alternative to the Starbucks just around the corner — check ‘em out! :)

They’re a LITTLE cheaper than other places. $ 3 for a tall(12 oz) mocha. $ 3.50 for a 16 oz. This may be comparible to starbucks, but they have trivia for 50 cents off and specials every month. This month is a mint chocolate chip mocha and it’s $ 3 for 16 oz which is the price of 12 oz. Very cute stand. Plus, their coffee IS so much better like the other reviewers said. You can taste the difference. The person in front of me had a punch card handed to them, but I wasn’t offered one. I shouldn’t have to ask! :)

What you have to understand about this place, what sets it apart from every other coffee shop or stand, is that the coffee they use here is unbelieveably good. It’s some crazy brand I never heard of before, Batdorf I think. But let me tell you, it is GOOD. I’m telling you, I don’t want any other coffee. I’ve been going here about two years now and any time I have somebody else’s cofee, it just never seems to measure up to what they have here. Add to that a team of friendly, helpful, and genuinely nice baristas who REMEMBERMYNAME and my drink, and you have a wonderful neighborhood place that really helps me enjoy my day. I am addicted to the coffee and the service and you will be too. Plus the trivia question is really fun, and the punch card too. keep up the good work ladies! And just for those of you who seem to be confused, my name is Angela, not Angie. Angie is the owner, I am not the owner. Angie is a retired massage therapist, I currently work as a massage therapist. We are not the same person and I don’t know her at all outside being her customer. Anyone who says so doesn’t know what they are talking about and needs to find something better to do with his/her time.

I am wondering when the last time pepper went to this stand was? the new owner and her husband really whipped it into shape and it looks incredible. the inside is glistening w/stainless steal counters and she is in the process of completing a great mural that fits the area very well. I personally am impressed w/the work she and her husband have done in such a short time, really shows her desire to please customers. not to mention that her coffee is 10x’s better than the old owners ever was. same beans, better baristas. my friend and i go here all the time and she saw this review via google so I signed up here just to correct it. prompt service, best tasting coffee on the eastside and a new, clean spiderweb free look… fantastic! i suggest seeing for yourself. To the person that emailed me(you know who you are) I clearly said in my Applebees review that I moved BACK here and that would mean that I have lived here BEFORE. hence the«moved BACK» part. I had been to this stand plenty of times as I used to live in the Juanita area, still live very close. So thank you for calling me a liar, insulting me and proving what I figured out my first day on here w/Mr. Rude, Gavin. something? Unilocalers, let go of the clicks, seriously, you make new people feel VERRRY uncomfortable on here. You want your site to grow? Then act like it!

Not bad, not great. Other places in area are better. The theme doesn’t do it for me, although what does that have to do with the coffee right? I’ve had very mixed experience with Batistas. Place seems run down and is quite dirty with spider webs everywhere, dirty counter, inside looks a little scary, etc. Nice location across from the park, although can be a pain to access since it’s so close to a light and can only access it from one direction. Also, no walk-up window(which sucks as its across from a park in easy walking distance) so you must stand in the car lane.

After my bf’s bone crackin’ appointment, his bone-doc told us to walk over to the espresso stand(within the plaza) and try their New Mexican Chocolate Latte. He said it was to «DIEFOR!». So we went. I ordered my Americano, black, no room, and extra hot(if it’s not HOT already!). They use good coffee beans. I’ve drank a lot of Americanos and this did not leave a bitter after taste. It was good. Bf ordered their new latte. We told the owner we were recommended by the bone-doc to try their new caffeine buzz. She told us she grinds her own Mexican chocolate. That sounded nice to the ear but I did not understand what she was talking about. I imagined it came in a huge chocolate brick form and she had to break a chunk and use her industrial grinder. Bf saw 5 scoops of the grind chocolate going into his 20 oz cup. Is it going to be extremely sweet? The Mexican Chocolate Latte is very good and smooth to the pallate. It has the taste of real cocoa, cinnamon and maybe nutmeg of sort. It’s not as sweet as the regular Mocha latte. When you get down to the last quarter cup, you’ll experience chunks of unmelted chocolate or bits of cinnamon and the concentrated sweetness. It’s still not as sweet as the mocha latte. Apparently, she’s the new owner and was very nice. She gave us her pink«Buy 11, get 1 Free!» punch card, knowing that we’ll be back again. Perfectly located in the entrance of the plaza and a perfect treat after a bone-crackalackin’ appointment. A MUSTTRY! =)

i have yet to buy an actual cup from here which is the reason for the neutral review. passed by the interestingly decorated stand everyday with a smile. always with a smile. trivia questions put up daily with discounts for those who can answer. i have yet to be able to correctly answer a question, but when i do, i’ll be sure to stop in for a cup.
