This is the place to go for your chips and salsa/margarita cravings! Make sure to try their scratch margaritas – one will make you tipsy. :) They have the BEST pica da gillo ever and serve that along with a salsa when you down. There is out door seating, affordable prices, super friendly waiters(they actually remember me every time) and fab food. There is a new owner who was very friendly and welcoming to us. It is my favorite Mexican spot around. Try it for lunch, dinner or drinks! :)

This place was great. It was standard as far as food goes, but it was a fair price and service was great. I got the carne asada, and my husband ordered enchiladas. The portions were huge, and both of us had some to take home. Also, the salsa is amazing. They brought out this fresher kind of pico de gallo along with the standard red salsa. I loved it! If you want good food, as well as fast service, Jalisco is the place for you.

Revisited Jalisco because we had a coupon. We’re still not impressed. It’s middle-of-the-road Mexican food and margaritas in a setting that needs refreshing. Chips and salsa were adequate. A plate of fresh pico de gallo was a nice addition. My Steak Ranchera was tender and tasty, but drowned beneath the sauce, peppers, and onions in which it was cooked. Her chicken enchilada was very bland, with tender, but unseasoned, chicken and gringo sauce and guacamole. Rice and beans on both plates were very average. This time around the house margaritas were satisfactory. Service was friendly, but a bit perfunctory. We may be back, if we get another coupon.

I will be honest, the food at Jalisco tastes exactly the same to me as every other major Mexican restaurant. Maybe I don’t have a good Mexican food palate, but it seemed pretty standard. Maybe also because I’m boring and always order a chicken burrito everywhere I go — which I did here — may have something to do with it. This restaurant is situated next to Cactus and while Cactus was hoppin’ and this place had no one in or around it and there was plenty of outdoor seating on a beautiful day, the obvious choice is to wait for Cactus since it clearly seems like the better, more popular choice. However, it was 7 pm and I was starving so my friend and I decided to take a chance on it and it wasn’t bad. The service was pretty quick and the food was decent. Nothing remarkable, tasty, but as I said before, pretty standard. Although I must say it was HUGE — even bigger than at most restaurants. I was able to eat about half the burrito and boxed the rest up to go. I’d probably come here again… the location is good and the food was fine. No red flags on my end.

The margharita here was okiesh . fajita chiken salad was really good. however most of the dishes with shredded chiken were not that tasty. (thats what my friends ordered) service was all right. the place was kind of dull because not many people eat here i guess.

I’m a fan and I’ve been so for more than 5 years now. I just couldn’t find better tasting Mexican food here in Seattle. Steak a la Mexicana, Pollo Asada, and Fajita Burrito are my favorites. Good food and fast service. You should give it a try.

I’ve been here several times. While not as good as it’s neighbor Cactus, I’d still come here again. The food is good for the price. It’s a fun, really casual place to bring friends and family. Not fancy at all. I only paid about $ 17 for me and my boyfriend(2 entrees and 2 drinks). That’s pretty decent considering you get huge plates of Mexican food. Would definitely come here again if I didn’t feel like spending double at Cactus right next door.

This place is similar to the Jaliscos near first and Denny downtown… though I’m not sure if the restaurants are related or not. We went here before going to an amazing flamenco performance at the Kirkland Performance Center. There are some menu items that are pretty authentic like the tortas(which my friend ordered and appeared to have suprisingly good bolillos), and others are a little bit more Americanized. I ordered the tacos al carbon. They honestly weren’t the best or the worst I’ve had in Seattle. Even with its faults this place is far better than the other Mexican place next door. Good company will improve any restaurant, and I definitely had that.

This is one of those places that’s pretty mediocre, and you know it isn’t good, but you occasionally return anyway when you’re low on options. It’s cheap, a few dishes are decent(I like the tortas) and it’s not usually crowded.(Probably since it’s fairly bad.) Some dishes are disgusting(nachos are soggy grease piles) and should be avoided. Total crapshoot. The service is bad, and I swear everyone that works here is perpetually cranky. It’s not exacty quick either, but takeout works if you call in advance. Did I mention it’s really cheap? Meh. edit: Remember what I said about liking the tortas? I got one yesterday, and one half of the bread was totally soggy and untoasted, and the other half was REALLY burnt, like. black. I think they forgot to flip it or something. Eeeew.

The lady that was our waitress never had a smile on her face, which didn’t particularly give us a welcoming feel at the restaurant. As usual, they give you chips and salsa. The dishes are mediocre and can be found at Torrero’s(you may even get more bang for your buck there). I ordered a combo of an enchilada and a chimichanga. The enchilada was the main item of the combination, so I was very disappointed when I received the plate, and the enchilada was the length of my hand!(and trust me, I have small hands measuring from the end of my middle finger to my wrist) The chimichanga was very thick and mainly breading and would even prefer a frozen-microwave one over this one. On a positive note, one dish that stood out to me was the quesidillas. The taste is very distinct; you can pick out the taste of chicken or steak, while the cheese melts in your mouth. Other than that, it’s nothing special.

It wasn’t SUPER amazing, but I was pleasantly surprised. The salsa was a bit watery but the salad-like stuff that came with the chips was alright. The service was super-prompt. I ordered off the lunch menu(normally only available M-F) and got my food within about 3 minutes. The beans were good and had lots of cheese on them, the rice was good, and the main dish(can’t recall what it was) was okay. I tried picking up the tortilla to eat it, but it broke apart and I ended up having to eat it like a salad. The tomatoes in there were fine, the lettuce was fine, the chicken was«okay» but tasted pretty bland. I ended up pouring salsa on it to give it some flavor, but sadly the salsa was not as chunky as I like it and the flavor wasn’t quite my style. Ah, well. I was able to get in, eat, and get out in about 20 minutes. Definitely a-ok by me! Oh and one of the employees spoke Spanish to me and I understood him. That was cool. I’ve had 2 – 3 people speak Spanish to me today which has been unusual, but kind of neat… and makes me happy that it was the language I took in high school.

We were aiming to go to Cactus Friday night, but didn’t get our act together in time to actually make plans. Because the wait was over an hour at Cactus and Jalisco was right next door, we went to Jalisco instead. I thought this place was just ok. The food took so long that I had already filled up margaritas and the chips and salsa(which was good) by the time it arrived. I ordered carnitas(beef) with corn tortillas; I found the meat a little dry. The portions were large though, at least enough for a second meal. There’s food for vegetarians too. My vegetarian friend ordered vegetarian fajitas(though I’m not sure how he liked it because he had a lot left over… maybe he’s watching his figure?).

Holy crap I found it. My kind of Mexican food in the Seattle area. I really don’t understand all the negative reviews this place has gotten… But I don’t care… My experience was good times. For starters we were helped right away and taken to a cozy booth. They not only brought us a delicious hot salsa. but also a plate of pico de gallo with our chips. Soooooo tasty. We weren’t starving so we split the grilled chicken quesadilla with rice and beans. The ‘dilla had good flavor and was pretty much… like a quesadilla. But the beans were delicious… like the Mexican food I am used to eating in Nevada and California. Mmmm The prices were totally reasonable and the service was very good. The next time I will order something else and see if they are consistent. I dig it.

I grew up going to Jalisco’s. In fact I spent quite a bit of time going to this very one during my youth. So I don’t know if I was just to young to notice things? Or if I never had to use the bathroom? But it’s a little shabbier than I remember? My chips were better than most, and I will ALWAYS love the Pico De Gallo they serve! But they need a major overhaul in this restaurant that looks like its still in the 70’s! What was the worst for me, was the long trek to the bathroom, and the orange tile and grout, just made me wonder if I would be catching any thing contagious that night! My margarita was a little stronger than it needed to be, but extra alcohol is always nice, to kill the bad things! And my sopa was good, but when you are concerned with cleanliness, everything starts to taste wrong. So my suggestion to them, at the very least. We have a code B — B for BATHROOMMAKEOVERSTAT!!! The staff was very nice and friendly.

It’s a good break from Cactus, and obviously they have something to offer or else you wouldn’t have two Mexican-themed restaurants next to one another. Food arrives pretty quickly, prices are reasonable, and the amount of food you get for the money is an amazing value. Oh, and if you feel left out of the trendy scene, you can always grab a fine Margarita next door after your meal with the money you saved on your entrée!

There is really nothing special about this place. But, I have yet to have a poor meal here. Likewise, never a great meal, but consistantly enjoyable none the less. Sure, it’s no El Camino, or La Carta De Oxaca, but, it beats the snot out of Axteca and the like. Taco del Mar just down the street might be a better option unless you need booze with your beans.

A good, solid meal. Mmm! The pico de gallo was really fresh and tasty. It disappeared quickly with the chips and was just as quickly replenished. I love when you don’t need to wave down a waiter to get more. I had the seafood chimichanga, which came with two seafood-filled bundles of joy, with decent rice and a nice bit of refried beans. Not so in love with the cheese on the beans, but at least it wasn’t fluorescent yellow cheddar. The white sauce on the chimichangas was really creamy and delish. It didn’t look so good today on my leftovers for lunch, but boy, it was still just as tasty. Yum!

I’m also surprised about this restaurants’ low rating. This is one of the only Mexican restaurants in the area that I haven’t left sick or just wanting to die. My food has always been consistantly good, the waiter service very good & the atmosphere is small but not offensive. My boyfriend enjoyed himself & he’s a Mexican food conossier plus their chips/salsa is different than many I’ve had. More choices– no Pace out of the jar. In addition, the prices are reasonable. I like this place, too.

This place was like sitting in some kind of torture room. We had a view from our table of all of the fun people eating fabulous food and sipping on rockstar margaritas at Cactus, while we ate slop and turbo’d our very strong but warm margaritas. The inside of Jalisco smells like the inside of a dishwaster. It felt warm and sweaty inside. We stopped in to eat only after hearing that our wait for 2 people at Cactus was going to be about an hour. Sitting down at Jalisco we felt defeated. We knew that we were about to eat cheese smothered mystery meat served by cranky waiters. I’m trying to figure out why this place is still in business, especially in such a hot location. We were one of about 4 tables in the place and all of the other restaurants in Kirkland were full. We shouldda just drove to Bellevue — but we were hungry… We’ve learned our lesson. No more Jalisco for us. (the one star is for the chips and salsa which were the best part of our meal)

Not your trendy new wave health Mexican. Yeah, there’s a Sea of Beans on about every plate, but the food’s not half bad, the margaritas have a pour like you know the bartender, and if you go there at all regularly you will: they don’t forget regulars. Basically a pretty home-y take on the standard that Azteca & the like are shooting for. If you were trying for Cactus next door and decided not to deal with the bimbos and line, head on over to Jalisco’s and have 3 – 9 margaritas. Then crawl down to Marina Park and convulse in a bush for a few hours. Good times.
