This restaurant is fantastic. We had a group of 8. I called ahead to check on their coupon policy. They allow multiple coupons per table! You just have to split up the checks into groups of 2. While I didn’t technically make a reservation(just mentioned we’d me coming in on Saturday), the fantastic waitress/hostess remember me(I want to say her name is Kimberly) and had the large table waiting for us. Now on to the food. This was my first time coming here but my dad had eaten here previously and raved about his experience. The food exceeded my high expectations. Everyone got an individual dinner combo. The soups were delicious, a lot of the other Chinese restaurants stretch out of the egg flour soup, not here, it was delicious and had tons of egg. Everyone got an individual dinner combo. The portions are nothing less than huge. Everyone filled a large box of leftovers. The plates are piled high and everything is cooked to perfection with wonderful flavors. My only small critic is that the coupons are valued at $ 10(not valid on lunch specials) and there is literally one option for $ 10(a vegetation option). So if you get two meals for $ 10.95 that values the coupons at a maximum 45% discount, not 50%. This is a minor thing in my opinion(especially as not many people have coupons. Another bonus, they don’t charge tax on the free meal, which is how it’s suppose to work but doesn’t often happen. FYI the coupons can be found in the entertainment book).

I have no idea how this gets so many good reviews. I had General Tso’s chicken which should be flavorful and spicy. It wasn’t. Zero flavor and the chicken was almost entirely gristle. I gagged down what I could because I was starving and in the middle of moving into a house and just needed food. Absolutely horrible and the price wasn’t what I’d call good either. There are good options for Chinese in Kirkland(though they are rare) but this is not one.

The stars are only for service. The girl working there was really nice and polite. She made sure my order came first, as it was a add-on to a to go order. I had hopes that it was going to be decent Chinese food, but I was fooled. I had the seafood soup which had only shrimp as the seafood, no others were found. It had large pieces of broccoli in it, which it totalling weird in a Chinese seafood soup. It was bland and lacked flavor. The fish and veggies plate was OK. It didn’t taste authentic and had some sweet sauce on it. Authentic Chinese food does not come sweet. At least not this type of food. We also got the fried rice. I didn’t know someone can mess up fried rice but they did. This is the last time in going back there. I could cook better food at home if only I had a working kitchen.

Great China has never disappointed! We are very picky when it comes to Chinese restaurants and this place is delicious! Even when I don’t feel like anything too heavy their pot of wonton soup is sooo good! Take out from great China makes us all happy! ;)

Huge portions. Great price. Vegetable fried rice is my favorite. My only gripe is that there are a lot of onions in the chicken lo mein but I’m not really a fan on onions so I will just adjust what I order next time. We will be back for sure.

Typical strip mall Chinese restaurant with a great lunch special menu. Lots of choices between $ 7.50 and $ 8.50. Portions are seriously massive. For $ 8 I left so full I could barely breathe.

I’ve been coming to Great China since I moved to Washington, 5 years ago. I lived in Bothell and the restaurant was about 10 minutes away through downtown Bothell. We came on special occasions or when we craved Chinese food. In the last five years we have experimented with other nearby Chinese restaurants and have been disappointed every time. I now live in Snohomish, drive 20 miles every week to eat here. Hands down my favorite place. I have come to know the servers who are all very polite and professional. I myself am a cook so when I use their bathroom which is past their kitchen I make sure to look at cleanliness. Never once have I seen a dirty kitchen. This place is hands down and all around an awesome place to eat. I will continue to come here, even if my commute increases.

Just your normal casual American/Chinese restaurant, great place to go to when you just want some quick and simple Chinese food. So don’t expect anything super spectacular or super authentic because it is somewhat more Americanized Chinese food, that’s not a bad thing to me, but to some it mite be a big deal to them. Like everyone says, portions are huge! One entrée is usually enough to share with 2 people, I always end up saving some for leftovers. They do use msg in some of there foods but you can always request them not to use it if you have any food sensitivities or allergies, so that’s cool.

My husband and I were in Kirkland for the REPRESENT conference held at Eastside Foursquare church and stumbled upon this awesome place! Great service, great food, and well kept. Our hostess/waitress was so friendly and welcoming. The portion sizes are well worth the price. Really good family setting! We will definitely be visiting again if we happen to be out this way!!!

My family and I love this place. It is our go-to Chinese restaurant, and we get take out from here every couple of months. Traditionally we get sweet/sour pork for the kids, which is always perfectly crispy outside with moist pork inside. We really like the string bean beef, which is super garlicky, and the kung pao prawns, which are always very tender and perfectly cooked. Could be spicier, but they have to try to appeal to a broad range of palates. We’ve never been disappointed by the chow(lo?) mein, and the wonton soup has gone over well, too. I personally LOVE the crispy eggplant in garlic sauce. It has such fantastic flavor! The spring rolls do tend to be quite greasy, but then again, they ARE deep fried, so it’s not really a surprise. On a very rare occasion they have forgotten an item on our order, a cup of soup or an appetizer, but it hasn’t even been worth complaining over because everything else is good and the portions are huge. And we’ve always had excellent service, even on slammed-busy nights.

Went there to check out the closest Chinese restaurant in my new neighborhood. What a mistake. Whatever I had, I think it was the egg drop soup, nearly killed me as I was rolling around in severe stomach pain for the next few hours. None of the food we tried was any decent(people who leave good reviews here must have never had real Chinese food…) it was just bad. like the only Chinese restaurant in the middle of redneck america owned by the only Asian family in town bad. And you will see similar scenery inside here too. As far as cheap crappie Chinese food goes in the city, I would rather have Panda Express — it is safer and tastes better. But this is Seattle, we have tons of more authentic options… comon!

I’m hoping we caught this place on an off night, because our food was not even close to the standard described by fellow Unilocalers. We chose this place after reading Unilocal, and then checking the King County Board of Health latest restaurant inspections. This place passed its latest inspection and that matters to me. So the 2 stars are because the place is clean and they apparently know how to safely prepare food, at least when the inspector is there. Ordered take out and was sad to see they pack their food in styrofoam containers. Not really the experience I wanted, but not their fault for not meeting my expectations of wanting little cardboard containers. We ordered potstickers, spring rolls, Kung Pao tofu; and Mongolian Beef. Our food was oily — can’t even say greasy because sometimes that can be good. This was cloying, oily food that was completely inedible. The spring rolls were a shiny pile of disintegrated wrapper and vegetable mush that if we had wanted to eat them, we would have had to use a spoon. The Kung Pao tofu also had a ring of oil around the container and just looked unappetizing. I can’t describe the flavors or texture of the food because I closed the lid and tossed it. Hubby didn’t fare much better with his potstickers and beef. I’m going to have to keep looking for my Chinese food fix, because this was not it.

I’ve been to Great China several times with my boyfriend and his family. The food is always fresh, and very flavorful. I recommend the potstickers as an appetizer. I believe they are handmade and are great. I’m not sure what my favorite is. There are so many good dishes. But you can’t go wrong with the Family Combination«B». Their lunch is very reasonably priced and exceptional for the amount of food you get. It is worth it to upgrade to the special fried rice. This is a wonderful family ran restaurant.

I’ve only gotten food to go here twice but I’ve really enjoyed it. Their wonton soup is on point! Pretty accurate on to go times which I appreciate. Love the fried rice and moo shu pork! I’d say one of the best Chinese food places in the area.

They promise it to be spicy but the only«spice» is the hoisin sauce they drench all their food in. No depth of flavor or seasonings. Cook your own chicken and dump a bottle of sauce on it. You can do better than this place. The portions are generous but if it’s not tasty then why give double portions. They can’t even make white rice. The rice was dried out and clumpy. They also won’t do fried rice substituted for white rice they demand you buy an another entrée of fried rice to get it. There is no reason to go back. Plenty of other options.

Simply put, just gross. The family and I were in the area and based off of Unilocal reviews we decided to give it a try. We are from Seattle and we knew that this place would be a western/junk food place and not authentic. Everything was either too salty, fried to a crisp or soggy. Friendly staff, was seated quickly.

This was my first time in to Great China, but I had plenty of company. They do a ton of takeout business, at least on this Sunday night. There were about a dozen people in the restaurant, and at least that many coming in to take out their meals while I was there. This place is definitely popular. Mongolian beef was fine, but a little oily. Pot stickers were huge, but the wrapper was thick and doughy, detracting from the stuffing. The portions are large, and it’s definitely a Chinese-American style restaurant. Sweet and sour, General Tso, Kung Pao, all the favorites. Try the dinner combos. Soup, egg roll, entrée, rice and/or chow mein for around $ 10.

Not perfect, but it makes me smile. Great China is a tasty American-Chinese food restaurant. Portions are huge and every ingredient is /fresh./ I asked once and the owner told me that the cook hates to use anything canned or frozen. It shows in the bright flavors and the crunch of fresh vegetables. Service is always incredibly friendly. Even when they’re ridiculously busy with a steady stream of take out orders, the servers are on top of your needs when dining in. I’ve never had an issue with their cleanliness, though the décor is dated and a little trite. OK, a lot trite. Order one of the combo plates for lunch or dinner and you’ll probably need a leftover container if you’re a normal eater. The plates are huge and piled high with yum.
