Well lit this rest stop /welcome center is a good and easy place to stop. Rest rooms are large and clean. Easy parking for cars, RVs or trucks. Picnic tables. Dog area. Spacious.

The I-79 Welcome Center is located on Interstate 79(I-79) Northbound — approximately five miles north of the PA/WV border. The Welcome Center is operated by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. As you pull in and walk up — you start to get the sense that this Welcome Center is quite a bit nicer than any you’ve seen before! As you walk in — you will notice a number of historical interpretive exhibits — detailing the history of the area — including a good bit on the mining roots of the area. All the usual amenities are available: maps, brochures, someone to ask questions of, very nice, clean, and well maintained restrooms. Outside there are picnic tables for those who want to stop and grab a bite and relax for a bit. The Welcome Center services are open and available daily from 7:00 am — 7:00 pm. Restrooms and vending machines are still available during off times — 24 hours a day, 365 days a year!
