I invited a friend to dine with me at this location to celebrate her birthday. While I waited for her to arrive, I remembered that I had no birthday gift or card! I looked at varied selections of nostalgic gifts and clothing. Tony was one of the extra friendly cashiers who checked me out and informed me that gift wrapping was free at Cracker Barrel. I took advantage of the offer and the gift wrapping was expertly done and there was a nice selection of cards available. The gift wrap was beautiful. The birthday friend was happy. Me, too. Our server was a beautiful, talented AfricanAmerican lady who signed our ticket with a that was unique. Way to go Cracker Barrel.

Cracker Barrel really can’t fail! I’ve been eating the Grand Ma’s sampler for quite some time and it seems to get better every time. We came here as a party of 5 and ate a good breakfast. Our waitress wasn’t as tentative as I would like but our visit went well. Everyone was pleased, I’ll be back.

The service was great! Friendly staff so it pains me to have to give the place two stars. I had a cobb salad and it was not great. It was less than not great. It was bad. Hubby had the chicken fried steak and it was ok. Not stellar. Maybe their breakfast staples are better. I am not sure. Not looking forward to going back. The storefront looks pretty cool. I didnt browse around enough though.

Yeah, the food is just okay, but the hospitality is so five star. I was concerned after reading the Unilocal reviews if this location could accommodate service for 25 plus people, but our two waitstaffers took care of us! Arriving a little past 4 with the guess of honor, we were actually on time given that the staff didn’t setup the tables until a little before 4. Gave my cousin time to setup the décor and for our party to arrive. Some people still arrived later, but the wait staff made sure they were taken care of once they arrived. As far as the food… well…umm…it could be better. The menu is so vast that I think it’s too much to be superb on on a consistent basis. Some items are probably ordered more than most so you’d think something that has popular draw would be pretty decent. No, not really. I decided on the chicken fried steak with a side of okra and greens. The greens were actually really good(they use smoked turkey instead of pork fat), but the steak– I ate two bites, small bites, and I had to send my meal back. The batter was bland and mushy, the steak was just bland and that made me NOT A FAN to entertain even digesting it. Okra was horribly undercooked. The crust was light brown like a fry and not crispy. The waitstaff understood my disgust and took a second order. This time, however, I was able to ask my fellow fam for insight on their meals. My cousin’s chicken tenders and fat finger fries(because they’re that big) looked spectacular, but my other cousin’s fish was also tempting with its golden crust… asked my cousin with the fish if I could taste it and it was nicely flavored and fresh. Not salted to death so I could actually taste that I was eating fish! Decided on the fish meal with a sweet potato and mac and cheese. Unfortunately, by the time I received my meal(which by the way was less than 10 minutes arriving at my table and those of my fellow diners), I was full from my greens, cornbread, and biscuits I ate(biscuits by the way, were a little dry, but raised their digestive value with butter). I did taste the fish and mac and cheese before I packed it away and both were decent and delicious– especially the next day, but the sweet potato was a fail. When I ate it two days later it was mushy and stringy, indicating that it was old. Wouldn’t order it along with the light skinned okra. In any case, the meal was cheap, the service was on point, and we were accommodated nicely for my Aunt’s 76th birthday. From reserving a space without a lot of foot traffic to keeping the cake cool while we ate, the wait staff that day took care of us and stated that they were delighted to serve us. If that freaking knick nack store wasn’t the only way to enter and exit the place I would probbaly give it 4 stars anyway based on the service. Pretty crowded coming in and out– especially when it’s busy. Plus, the store and restaurant share registers for you to pay for your meal and or buy items. Not really to my liking. I’d prefer to have full waiter service, which includes the waiter taking my check and payment versus waiting in a line to pay after I’ve eaten. Nonetheless, having the flexibility of individual checks was nice. Since this place teeters between a 3 and 4 for me overall, I’m going to round down and give it a three because this place has 5 qualities but the food just isn’t worthy of a 4.

Such a disappointment! I haven’t been here in years so I was very excited to take my husband as he had never been. We go and of course there is a wait as usual so no surprise. They told us about 20 min so we wandered around the store. 35 – 40 min later I asked about our table because it was double the time we were told and we had our one year old who was getting difficult. They quickly got our table after that. They seemed short staffed so it took forever to get drink orders and bread. And my husband had to get the high chair cause we waited a while for the waitress to come. We finally order and when we get our food the portions are sooo small! They look about the same as my one year old sons child’s plate! When I think County cooking and homestyle food I think a generous amount of food. So I gave my husband half my food since his meatloaf slice was about as thin as paper and we filled up on the bread. Fried okra is way better at Lubys and I got half a handful of fries as sides. My salmon patties were ok but they have much better ones at Lubys as well. The ones from Lupys taste homemade. These taste frozen and cooked on a pan. It was such a let down and not what I expected. Not what I remembered. Only reason I gave two stars was the biscuits and macaroni were good and the staff was nice. Won’t be going back.

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is known for their delicious breakfast. They do have a tasty breakfast. The restaurant is often busy and you will wait in line. I personally don’t like this particular Cracker Barrel the Old Country Store a great deal. Often my orders have been served improperly and they weren’t what I ordered. The server has always attempted to correct what was served. But I don’t know why you can’t get a simple order correct the first time. I probably wouldn’t go here during the peak times because I would feel frustrated waiting in line forever to only get the food wrong when I got it. If the parking lot is fairly empty this is an OK option to eat. I think Luby’s which is also close by is a good option if you like a good meal

with virtually no other full-service breakfast competition in the Kingwood Dr/Northpark area, this location is usually slammed at breakfast on the weekends. Service is usually excellent, but the is food isn’t stellar. Something simple like grits confounds the folks in the kitchen.

If you like chicken dumplings, you can be assured that the chicken dumplings here are exceedingly dope.

On Breakfast: I am 100% a breakfast person. And Cracker Barrel does breakfast right! They serve great French toast and amazing homemade biscuits.(not sure if biscuits is the word, I’m not from here) but all in all there breakfast is very good. On Dinner: I’ve only eaten there for supper once, but it was very good. I had chicken fried chicken, with mashed potatoes and Mac&cheese. The meal was great. Especially the Mac&cheese. The chicken was very tender and not too breaded. It was perfect. I’d recommended this place to anyone.

I honestly love their pancakes and their biscuits and gravy. Not the cleanest place I’ve ever eaten, but when you have good carbs like this, its an exception. Go here regularly with my family. Also, love their store.

I’m a huge Cracker Barrel fan, but this visit really left a bad taste in my mouth. We were in TX visiting my mom. We got to the restaurant around 11 or so. We had to wait around 30 minutes for our table… which is fair for lunch time. Once seated at the table it took another 30 minutes for us to order then an additional 45 to get our food. Once our food arrived we were missing two entire meals. So we had to wait another 20 minutes for that to arrive, while everyone else was finished eating. In total around trip to Cracker Barrel was around 2.5 hours. When we complained about the serves the said they would take off a few dollars… less than a meal price. I was really irked by this, I felt that they should have taking the amount of the two meals off the bill. Very disappointing!

The store is absolutely adorable, a good place to pick up some gifts. Of course it wouldnt be cracker barrel without the endless row of cute rocking chairs in the front porch. The food is a different story. I can only summarize as this; hospital bland tasting food. No salt, seasoning on anything. Perfect if that is what you are looking for. But for me, I like my eggs with salt. The first 2 items I wanted to order were out and it was 10:40am on a Sunday morning. I ordered the basic old timer, eggs and bacon with biscuit. The coffee is watered down and tasteless. I would suggest getting juice or something else.

I went yesterday for the very first time and was so disappointed, when I first got their the waitress took forever to take our order and when we finally order the food took about 45 min to get, and the sad part it wasn’t even that full I order the country fried steak and was horrible, first and last time I’m going their… if you want real country food I recommend HUNGRYFARMERSON crosstimbers and 45

With any crackle barrel there was a little wait which is always expected. I ordered hamburger steak which I was assuming came with gravy, probably that’s because that’s the way I fix it. I had to ask for gravy which helped it out. My wife was not pleased with her breakfast she said it was not the service or quality she usually receives

Went to a few weeks ago got the grilled tender platter the sides were pretty good the creams and whatnot the grilled chicken tenders I ordered were the most over cook things like I mean I threw them on the floor and they bounced they were so robbery and dry the service there was also another weird. While I was waiting for my take out order they followed me around like I was going to steal something seriously I’m not going to take anything. I did like what the store had and bought a few items

It seems like it’s going downhill. Service is unusually slow. The rolls were not tasty they werestarchy and dry. Country fried steak was amazing as was the multi berry pancakes. So will we be back yes how many more times I can’t say.

We went to dinner at CB around 7pm on a Friday night. The restaurant was half-occupied and we were seated right away. My daughter enjoyed her pancakes. We also had an order for roast beef… they ran out. Baked sweet potato… ran out. Ordered a bowl of soup… instead, received a cup. I ordered a peppered steak medium-rare…it came out mostly rare, some spots medium rare. It did taste good, though, with the hash brown casserole and broccoli sides. I have also had the chicken & dumplings in the past and would recommend it. The service was good and we had plenty of refills. Part of going to CB is experiencing what it offers beyond the food. You can’t leave CB without seeing the fun items in the gift shop and playing a game of checkers with a family member in the rocking chairs on the front porch. Not to mention that frustrating triangle/golf tee puzzle on every table in the restaurant. I have been to other Cracker Barrels and would easily give 4 stars for their breakfasts and the CB «experience». Unfortunately, 3 for dinner… ordering was a pain.

When you visit a ‘chain’ I figure you can’t go wrong: the food is probably the same at them all right? Wrong. My family and I stopped in to dine on a Sunday evening. It was fairly busy, and the wait was about 15 mins. No problem. Our server was very friendly. She took our order(we all ordered dinner) and so we wait. When she returned, 2 out of 5 dishes were prepared wrong and/or missing something. I ordered the grilled chicken salad, and it was so gross I had to send back… Had to. It was a sad plate of slimy old lettuce(turning black not green) with sour smelling old chicken on top. I seriously think the chicken was spoiled… Sour and pink looking. Server was very sorry, and brought me another dish packed to-go, as the rest of my family was almost done by this time. My mother in laws chicken came out fried instead of grilled, and we had to ask for bread(customarily is brought to the table when served) . Overall, I love Cracker Barrel, and have always had excellent breakfast at every location, but maybe this location just isn’t the place for dinner… Could be the chef had an odd night.
