This is a family run joint and has been for years. Note…they do not accept credit cards. I can’t speak for the Italian… I had a salad and some rolls, as I was there with family and wasn’t overly hungry. My salad was just okay.

Let me first say that I grew up in Italian-American house with two of my grandparents being born in Italy. I also lived in Italy for 10 months of my life. Thus, I feel comfortable saying I know good Italian food when I eat it. I have also been going to Sal’s for about 10 years now. The food is very high-quality while the prices are low for what you would pay in other good, Italian restaurants. The atmosphere also maintains a traditional small, Italian restaurant feel. It’s operated by Sal, who was born near Naples(Napoli), Italy, and his family. They genuinely take great pleasure in making sure you are enjoying your meal and chatting you up to get to know you. The walls are also decorated with relics from Sal’s home and other Italian decorations to finish the atmosphere. Overall, I can’t speak moer highly of Sal and his family or his food. They prepare everything themselves«in house», such as the staples of incredible pizza dough/bread and tomato sauce.

Excellent pizza dough. This place reminds my of my favorite Italian restaurant in my home town which was opened and managed by immigrants from Naples. Nice quaint atmosphere which seems to be adjace nt to the folks living upstairs.
