Gia and Deanna are great at their crafts. They always make you feel comfortable and welcome and thank you for your business. However, the women at the reception desk need a basic lesson in reception duties.i.e say hello, SMILE, welcome the client and say THANKYOU. The services at Sakari do not come cheap but I’ve always felt it worth the price. It’s when I have to deal with the front desk I feel ripped off!

I love Sakari! I’ve been there for hair, facials, and brow waxes. Every time I’ve been more than completely satisfied with the result. I noticed that other reviewers mentioned the price. But, I find their spa services VERY reasonable. I choose to go to one of their ‘Master’ stylists, so I expect the price to be more.(I think some people around here just don’t understand the levels of pricing.) Recently, my stylist was away and the woman covering for her was less expensive, but I was still very pleased with my cut and service. Perhaps just ask when booking? I also have to say that I’ve been very frustrated with another salon’s lack of customer service at their front desk.(I can’t stand calling a salon and feeling like I’m inconveniencing them.) The ladies at Sakari have ALWAYS provided wonderful service. I like that they do text confirmations and are always very accommodating when you call to book.

I was at Sakari recently as part of a bridal party. My hair and my make up both were on point, however I would not recommend this salon for such an occasion. First of all they booked four or five bridal parties on the same morning. Weddings are stressful enough, hair and make up running late makes that stress even worse. My hair stylist did do an amazing job but after she was finished she just left me. No explanation of where I was to go or that my make up artist would be with me shortly. I wandered the salon for about 45 minutes to an hour second guessing if I even made an appointment to get my make up done. After confirming twice that I indeed had a make up appointment I finally was seated in a make up chair. Although talented the make up artists continued to talk amongst themselves, pausing for long periods of time to talk about how hungry they were and how they were so busy. One artist even remarked, «oh my god we have 4 bridal parties today, I didn’t know that.» A bride nor bridesmaid wants to hear that you didn’t know your day was going to be that busy. It made me feel like Sakari wasn’t prepared for the day they booked. Needless to say we barely made it back to the bride’s house before almost immediately having to leave for the church. Their stylists and make up artists are extremely talented but their lack of customer service really made me happy that I go elsewhere for my hair and will do so if I ever have my own wedding day. Many girls probably step into that salon on wedding days, who like myself have never been there before. It’s your chance to obtain new clients but apparently Sakari potential new clients have no value to you.

My sister had her hair burnt here, she cried, was upset and told to buy $ 30 worth of products to salvage rest of hair. Next morning tried to contact owner and had her # blocked! finally called from another phone and found owners #, owner met her at shop and actually tried to save hair. This is sad, still praying she doesn’t go bald. Now on same day read article that their suing former employee, listen Sakari, Karmas a bitch and it will come back and bite you in the butt !

I just moved to the area and had been looking for a good salon when based on other Unilocal reviews I decided to give Sakari a try. I am so glad I did! The salon’s atmosphere and décor is right on point and Maggie, the stylist who cut my hair listened to what I wanted and executed my cut perfectly. I can’t wait to go back for color and to try spa treatments. Also, I got 50% off my first service, in my opinion prices(even at full price) are fair and in accordance with what you get.

I’ve been to Sakari for a haircut and a pedicure. Both times I left satisfied but not wowed. It’s a lovely, hip place, but I guess I expected something different — more of a spa-like feel. Make sure to bring cash for tips; they don’t allow you to tip on a card.

I was very impressed by this salon. I called and needed to make an appointment on short notice and they were able to get me in the very next day. Christie did my cut and color and I don’t think I have ever been more pleased with my hair when leaving a salon. She did exactly what I asked for and did not rush through it at all. Abby also did my eyebrow wax which I was very pleased with. This salon is a very up-scale, professional establishment and I will definitely be returning.

If you have ever had a haircut that made you wish you were a creature of the night so that no one could look upon you in the light of day… then you understand when you find a stylist you trust you are in the most committed relationship you could possibly get. I have been going to Sakari for about 2 years, and I have never let anyone but Jamie touch my hair. True, many people talk about the high price, but it’s really not that bad… and when you consider the self confidence a good hairdo does, it’s worth it. Here is what is so great about Jamie, and most likely the other stylists as well. Two haircuts ago, we experimented with my cut and color and I completely loved it. The touch-up after was a little off on the cut but the color was perfect. I wasn’t upset that the bangs and sides weren’t the same because realistically, it’s impossible to do the same cut twice. Now for the part that made my day. I came back a few days later for her to fix it and she was happy to do so. Some stylists I’ve had in the past(not at Sakari) would roll their eyes or huff, but Jamie was happy to blend it out so that I was just happy with my cut, and I totally was. Just a great experience and even though I’m moving out of town, you can bet I’ll make the drive back.

I first started coming here when Vintage closed. A lot of their stylists moved to Sakari. I don’t think I’ve had the same stylist twice. I’ve always seemed to go on a different night each time I made an appointment. Each one did a nice job. They did what I asked. Trim, layer, angle. There was only one time when the girl chopped off more than I expected, but I got over it. The salon is decorated in a modern and contemporary style. Reminds me of a high fashion salon you’d find in NYC, Philly, or pretty much any large city. Prices are a bit more than I’m use to paying for my standard hair cut. Then again, would you rather pay for get your hair cut consistently or go to Holiday Hair and not know what you’re gonna get?

Ahhh, my favorite salon of all time? I think so. Sakari is absolutely worth the hour and a half commute. I’ve been going to Sakari since it re-opened under that name a few years back, but I have been a client at the old Vintage Salon on Market St. since I was in high school. I can say hands down that Lynda runs the most professional, clean, and knowledgeable salon staff within the greater Northeastern PA region. The only place that might come close is the Woodhouse Spa — but that is a place that really caters towards Brides and showers, things of that nature, where as Sakari is a great salon for one-on-one attention. They remember you by name, and they listen to your needs and actually pay attention to the services you want to receive. I had one botched eyebrow job at Sakari — ONE — and I have been getting my brows waxed since I was 16. And it wasn’t even my regular technician, and she didn’t realize to use hard wax on my sensitive skin — so it was partially my fault for not telling her or stopping her once I felt the hot wax. Jacquie is one of the best hairstylists around — she is warm, and extremely knowledgeable about her craft. She is an excellent stylist, so if you are in the mood to try something out of the box or really just experiment, she is the girl for you. I have seen her do some amazing work on certain clients. For me, she has been doing my highlights and trims, and keeps my mane looking way above par… people want to know if I have spent a fortune on my hair, and I always refer them to Jacquie. Living outside of NYC, hair salons charge an arm and a leg — I’m talking $ 200+ for a full highlight, so really, $ 70 at Sakari justifies my adventures back to the valley every few months for a highlight. Really, this salon is just that good.

I have had my hair cut here several times by different stylists. I have never been unhappy with my hair. The stylists listen to what you want and do their best to make it so. If they think the picture you brought or your idea won’t look good on you, they will tell you, and make suggestions as to what they think will work. I have also had a full body massage done by Mizu. It was great; very relaxing. The only problem I have is that the prices are a bit high. But what can you really expect from a «salon and spa»? If you get on their e-mail list they will send you any specials that they have going on — best to wait for one of those if you don’t want to shell out $ 30+ per haircut and $ 50+ per massage.
