The worst! Tried to register a car out of state. I had all the paperwork from the dealer. Treated like trash. I went to DMV Catskill. Great customer service with a smile-​done in 15 minutes total. Kingston should be closed up by the state and the supervisor fired!!! I guess they do not want to collect registration fees and taxes for the state at Kingston. I hope someone in Albany DMV reads this.

Absolute worst Dmv in the area. Every time I go to this location I find out I am given wrong or false information and then they acuse you of all but lying because their people must not then, know how to do their job. hands down will ALWAYS go to Catskill from now on. they say that their rules are state rules made up by the state but yet I’ve been to at least two other locations where when I’ve gone there they have no idea what these attendants are talking about. So it comes across that they either A want to make your life exceedingly difficult for their enjoyment or B don’t want to do their job.

Despite my home-​county location being elsewhere, I tend to find myself visiting this location more often than most others (due to my county’s having a bad reputation about the neighborhood and parking). From all the experiences I’ve ever had at this Kingston location, things have been okay. Things were harry about 4 years ago, but as of a recent transaction in late January 2013 there along with a transaction my father had to make in February 2012, this place is actually one of the better DMV locations (in my persective). Despite the line-​forming system by which you take a number (electronically), the lines don’t tend to be long once you are able to walk inside the doorway. The times you do have to sit waiting for your number to be called, is a bit of luck! The benches just don’t suit everybody. They seem to be just as hard as a church-​bench is.
The people behind the counter inside the room, try to tackle your problems to the best of their ability, and if they don’t know your answer, they will hand over the problem to someone who will. And if that problem is that of a financial issue (or one that requires money), they are pretty good at charging only what needs to be charged and nothing else.
Although parking can get a bit «iffy» during the week, the fact that this business location is open on a limited schedule, can get you through the process in a matter of anywheres from 15 – 20 minutes. I’ve only had one occurrence, when, as soon as I reached the parking lot, I walked up to the door to find that they were completely closed (the day before Independence Day) during the day with no sign of hour-​changes anywheres to be seen/​heard (and I went to the door next to the parking booth man).
If you couple all the pieces together, I’ll continue to come back time and time again, to deal with problems as they arise. Thank you for being there.
