Great store with plenty of choices and friendly staff.

OKAY, so I needed some Bourbon for the mustard that i was making… My friend was going to the eyeglass place, next door, so I thought I would pop in and buy a pint of Jimmy Beans or something cheap like that. But, when I saw the bourbon selection there, I quickly forgot that pint nonsense. Yeah, yeah, they have a truck load of Jack and Jimmy for cheap. What really excited me is that they had about 25, maybe 30, artistically made Bourbons. Maybe they don’t have Early Times — don’t really know what that is, because I only buy top shelf spirits– but their Bourbon selection kicks azz. They also have an extensive collection of buzzare liqueurs that you’ve never even heard of –and a selection of local and regional spirits that is legitimately, the biggest i’ve ever seen. I would definitely go back to wander through the stacks of cheap wine that they’ve selected. Like the bourbon, they had a big pile of Kangaroo Wine and a shelf full of moscato(if that’s your thing– it isn’t mine), but they had a mix of international wines that were affordable. Maybe you can drink fancy Château with potato chips every night, but if you’re like me(and i’m not short of a shilling, believe me) $ 12 bucks makes the cut. Still, if i needed something for a special occasion or give a gift to someone that i respect, they had an extensive collection of fine imported wines. I bought a bottle of fine burgundy just because they had it. I wanted to shop more but my friend came back from the glasses store, and we had to go make that mustard.

First off let me just say the selection is amazing! And if they don’t have something you are looking for ask to speak to the manager Leon(what a hunk!) he will try to get it for you at a reasonable cost. The staff there is knowledgable about most of the wines and liquors in the store(with a selection like that even a sommelier would have difficulty). Really, what more could you ask for from a local store?

Arrogant and not customer friendly. Bought some wine on close out«because we are not going to carry it any more.» When I subsequently told them it was bad out of the bottle, even though I said I wasn’t asking for a refund, they were nasty. A few days later I called and asked for the manager; he was nastier and hung up on me. My guess is they knew it was bad because he knew exactly which wine I was calling about. I’m giving 1 star because I don’t think you can give none!

We are currently on the way to Vermont and stopped by this liquor store. We came in and the guy named Will said there was no space in the trash cans for our trash which was a paper bag– there were two trash cans right next to him. He’s definitely not aiming for Employee of the Month! Poor service — we found another liquor store nearby.

If the wine you bought at Miron’s is spoiled you will not get your money back!!! They will only exchange but NOT refund! get your wine else where.

This is a very square and sparse big box of a strip mall store. It looks like there might as well be auto parts lined up along the walls or in stacks in the middle of the floor. So, anyway. I couldn’t remember what liquor went in a Manhattan — was it bourbon, rye, possibly canadian whiskey. I asked someone from the store. «I don’t know». So I said OK, is there a book around. «Nope». So they’re not so great with expertise, maybe their virtue is price or selection. Nope. The selection of bourbon is POOR and included very low value choices like the pretty lousy Evan Williams or whatever its called and no Early Times(a remarkable value). I figured out what liquor you need for the Manhattans but they only have a few average quality, low value bourbons. Do not go to Mirons looking for someone to suggest a bottle that’s a good value or of particularly high quality. They don’t know. I say: go to a store that knows wine and liquor instead. However, I’d tired Miron a couple more times and got someone who knew bourbon. The staff might be a mtter of luck. I have no connection to the Merchant(except I got a giant bottle of Makers Mark on giant sale.) They seem to be working on something. This gives them a distinct edge. eveything about them suggests that they’re trying to run a quality liquor and wine store. And their prices are really good.

Probably the best liquor store I’ve ever been too(and I’ve been to a bunch). I worked here for a summer once and learned more about wine and liquor in that summer than 4 years of drinking in New Orleans taught me(not much you can learn from a Pat ‘Os Hurricane though). The manager, Eric, is very knowledgeable and slightly pretentious but he gets to be. He will laugh in your face for asking about White Zinfandel but he’ll also open a bottle of particularly good wine on the spot for a customer. Wine tastings on Saturday were a blast too. It’s nice to have a reason to be a little drunk at work. Additionally, they do discounts for seniors and on cases. And if you come in often enough, they start to give you a discount for being loyal. That’s why local businesses rock.
