Poor service, inexperienced staff. Long wait for everything even though half of the tables are empty. Very decent food.

Dolce is quite the find in this quaint little town of Kingston, NY. The interior is nice and the food did not disappoint whatsoever. They have great smoothies! I had the blueberry buttermilk pancakes and they were absolutely delicious. The service was outstanding.

The spot for breakfast and light lunch in downtown Kingston. Walk to the Rondout or stay inside and enjoy the great old building and tasty treats.

The concept is cool, the execution misses the mark. High price for unwelcoming slow service, under-cooked mediocre food. $ 6 smoothies are lack luster with zero taste. Watched another server wipe the tables down with a dirty sponge — gross. Ordered the special of the day — Challah french toast — received 2 soggy slices with 3 strawberries and half a banana and less than one oz of maple syrup = $ 14. When i asked for extra maple syrup the waitress said — we charge extra for that(Really? on a $ 14 special??) waitress brought it out 10 minutes later when i had already finished my meal — to add insult to injury the extra charge was $ 2 for the syrup I didn’t get the chance to enjoy :(With other hip and trendy breakfast places that treat and feed you right locally in Kingston and Woodstock there really is no reason to waste your morning at Dolce.

What a find! After seeing a performance at UPAC with my 9-yr old, we decided to explore for a place to luncheon. We wandered down toward the waterfront and seeing a row of cafes and restaurants, parked and walked up the block. My son loves crepes so seeing that on the menu, we ventured in to this most adorable café, with old world style, tin ceilings and exposed brick walls, open kitchen and cozy tables, and were greeted by a lovely young woman. My son said«Oh I hope they have Nutella» and by stroke of luck they did! He ordered the crepes(of course) with Nutella and I had a request to have the egg salad with spinach and avocado sandwich as a salad, which was no problem. The salad was delicious, with stone ground honey mustard dressing served on the side. We also both ordered hot tea which was served in ceramic tea pots(to my boy’s delight) and when the waitress saw him pour water into his cup of tea she asked if we wanted more hot water and I explained it was just a tad too hot. Very intuitive service. The crepes were made on the spot(we watched!) and were so yummy that my son said it just might be the best day of his life. The atmosphere was so delicious also that he mentioned he wanted to work there when he grows up. We will be back!

Cool vibe. Bring cash. Bad coffee, but that may be the almond milk. Oh and it is expensive. Like, $ 6 for a bad iced latte in upstate, ny.

The prices went up in the last year. They took away the all you can drink coffee. Sadly, this place USETOBE a favorite weekend breakfast place but I am thinking that it too pricey now. The pancakes start at 10.00, the crepes are 8 and up. The specials this weekend were 13.50 and up. So sad… I do not think breakfast said cost 20.00 a person. The food is good but at the recent prices… Not good enough.

This place is very expensive for what it actually is. For a side of bacon it was $ 3.50 I don’t mine that but when it’s microwaved an u can almost buy a lb of fresh bacon for that. I ordered my eggs Sunnyside up the white was not cooked all the way, so I told the waitress that the eggs were over easy not how I wanted them so she told the cook an I heard him say no that’s Sunnyside up an he proceeded to carry on about it for the restaurant to hear(Embarrassing). Pancakes were average. Will not go back.

This is the conversation I was having via text while waiting for my food. «The waitress just offered me a special. It was an omelette with spicy guacamole. But she pronounced it guak a mol. This place charges far too much for that bullshit. I want to slap her.» «Hahaha!» “Everyone knows you pronounce the e, she’s being willfully ignorant.” «That’s the way we say it hurr, you don’t like if you can git out.» «I will, but if y’all can’t say it right, I’m taking all the guacamole with me. Y’all don’t get to have any avocadoy goodness if you’re gonna be willfully ignorant.» «Ok, you can stay. The rest of the tan folk gotta go.» This is to illustrate my annoyance with the waitress and also the ridiculousness of my friends. But then a mouthwateringly delicious egg sandwich and a killer cappuccino showed up on my table and all was forgiven. Good food and coffee does a lot to calm my morning grumpiness.

Great place to sit and enjoy and espresso. Great food and a cute waitress makes for a very enjoyable morning. My favorite place to wake up in the AM. Remember cash only and you might have to wait if you show up too late, but very worth it.

Cute and chic but super DISAPPOINTING! This place will leave you hungry and with a slight dent in your wallet. In other words small portions for inadequate prices! What’s worse is that some stuff I can make better at home(like the $ 11 buttermilk short stack pancakes) and I saw that the crepes were pre-made. I only came here because I saw them advertised in the Hudson Valley Magazine and either prices were boosted way up or falsely represented. Also, service is slow and FAKE! I will not be back!

Excellent breakfast. Big variety of eggs and sandwiches and they will accommodate any changes of the menu. I had the egg salad and avocado sandwich and it was delicious. Great creeps too! Very reasonably priced. Service was great even though it was pretty packed. Would only like to see some cocktails on the menu ;)

Friendly service and a cute café however the food was terrible. The bacon was thin, brittle, covered in a pool of grease and tasted AWEFUL. Scrambled eggs were a mess and brown from grill grease. Pancakes tasted like Bisquick. Ham slices were served in a lump — all the sliver slices were stuck together. Barely toasted bread was stale. Will not go back.

Excellent food, and very good service. It would get a fifth start if the drinks were a little bigger. The OJ is served in a child like cup. Also they charge extra for syrup.

Rudest staff in the area and maybe the worse service I have ever received. I give this place a chance a few times a year and am always disappointed. If you like to be treated like you are less than, and nothing but a hassle, then this place is for you. Also over priced and really not that good. Personally, I will never go back there again.

Today we were told we needed to sit right up against a large party«to maximize seating potential» despite other seating being available. In the past, we always found this café to be a charming little eatery, but today we felt like cattle in a chute and won’t be back. Their food is very good, but the pleasant atmosphere and friendly nature of the place has sadly slipped away. We will miss it.

I haven’t been to Dolce in a long time, but all of a sudden I have a craving for this AMAZING breakfast sandwich they make: Swiss cheese, avocado, tomato, and an egg on a flaky, buttery croissant. It always came out perfectly, and their cappuccinos were the best I’ve ever had. The space is gorgeous with exposed brick, sunny window seats, and paintings for sale all over the walls. I love this place right down to the mismatched coffee mugs, which always made me feel like I was having breakfast in a good friend’s kitchen.

This is my favorite restaurant in the world! Some of my favorites are the Scrambled Spinach Sandwich; the Coach Farm Goat Cheese, Salami, & Pesto Panini; the Veggie Panini; the Sautéed Spinach & Brie Crêpe; the Smoked Ham & Brie Crêpe with egg; and the Strawberry Banana Crêpe. I also love to get their hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream. Basically everything is homemade and fresh. Amazing place!

Cute little place close to the waterfront. They have fresh and delicious sandwiches and salads. The place is very nice with exposed brick wall and I like the ‘grab a mug and fill your own coffee’. They also have very good crepes. And overall prices are very reasonable. What’s not to like?

We stopped at this place for breakfast twice while visiting Kingston for a wedding two weekends ago. It was both delicious and unpretentious and felt like a diamond in the overall rough of Kingston. The menu is simple yet tasty, and had vegan options aplenty, including some amazing vegan pancakes. On the first visit, I had an egg sandwich with pesto and my lady had the tofu scramble. The server was very nice and attentive and recognized us when we returned the next morning. My only recommendation to Dolce would be to offer some sides. I would’ve loved a pile of potatoes or an order of veggie sausage to accompany my breakfast.
