Amazing food! I had the soup of the day and it was delicious. Everyone else found their panini’s quite enjoyable and the bakery items were great. Can’t wait to go back.

Mary Anne and the staff at Blue Mountain Bistro did an absolutely outstanding job at my daughter’s wedding yesterday. From start to finish we received first-class service and food. Mary Anne worked with us for a year to help us plan the food and equipment for an outdoor wedding. We felt very special at the tasting as we sat in a private dining room, and tried all their tasty appetizers and entrées. As the wedding time approached she was on top of all the preparations. Wouldn’t you know it though, on the day of the wedding it was pouring rain. I mean pouring! That was when I became really impressed with Mary Anne and her staff. Working while thoroughly drenched, they moved all the equipment into that our tent and hung sides on the tent to keep the guests dry, and the party on track. The food was wonderful, starting with the appetizers — chicken satay, falafel, mac and cheese pops, lamb meatballs, and lobster rolls. The guests raved about these. Her artisan cheese platter was also wonderful, I could’ve eaten there all day. For entrées we had a buffet of chicken and fillet mignon, which were both done perfectly and again the guests raved. My only disappointment was that there were not more leftovers for us to take home. I wish I could give them more than five stars, because under the terrible working conditions I think Mary Anne and her staff were wonderful. Even though they were completely wet for hours, they all had smiles on their faces and were eager to help us with all the little things that go into running a wedding. Since we only have one daughter, we will have to invent excuses to hire them in the future. You shouldn’t wait though, hire them now.

I love the variety and quality of food at Bistro-to-go. The paninis are perfectly toasted, the mashed potatoes are heavenly, their meats and their vegetable mixes are always cooked just right. The soups are delicious too. They make these amazing Thai rice cakes, and their chickens wings are great. If you get there early on a weekday, try one off the breakfast sandwiches… i don’t know what they do to those eggs but they get ‘em fluffy as a cloud. I find that sometimes the flavors of their salads(tuna salad, potato salad, etc) are too strong(too much vinegar or onion or horseradish or something) but maybe that just a matter of preference. If you’re interested in the sweet side, I recommend the cookies. The cakes are ok; the ones I’ve tried were a bit rich… but their cookies are lovely, I especially love the pecan lace, banana oat, and an oatmeal one that tastes more like shortbread. Great macaroons too. Sometimes it is busy, but take a number and be assertive and they will soon get to you. It’s true that the kitchen staff looks like an intimidating bunch but… they aren’t the serving staff. They make awesome food, I don’t care if they are back there scowling! The servers/counter staff are always polite to me. Are they all the super bubbly smiley types? No. But they are polite and professional… and I can be a high-maintenance customer so I know! It’s not inexpensive, but it’s worth it for quality ingredients, interesting flavors, and overall excellent fare.

You know, Blue Mountain Bistro to go, just when I think you couldn’t possibly be any worse, you go and do something like this… and totally redeem yourself! The owner contacted me and apologized for my bad experience and I really appreciated that and told her I would return and give them a 3rd and final chance. I felt bad leaving such a bad review but I couldn’t help myself. The owners commitment to their business shows.

Stopped in here on Friday night and stocked up on some incredible food for the weekend. They’ve got everything here to satisfy carnivores, vegans & vegetarians which is rare around there. They made me a delicious crab cake sandwich to go(not on the menu) that was perfect. The service was friendly and helpful(I don’t know what others are complaining about). Bought a couple soups that were great: potato leek & veggie chili. They’ve got interesting desserts/chocolates/brownies that cater to those with food/additive sensitivities which is much appreciated. Lots of agave-sweetened stuff to be found(in addition to regular sugar-sweetened). My only complaint is that I wish they were open later on Friday & Saturday nights. All other food options on Rt 28 at night are garbage.

INCREDIBLYGREAT!!! The food was excellent, the pastries some of the best in the Hudson Valley I’ve ever had. The food was NOTOVERPRICED, like many other restaurants are, quite reasonable for what you get. Someone who once experienced«bad service» does not ruin the food of a restaurant. I had great service. Try the curry chicken salad. Many of the other restaurants in Woodstock have been a HUGEDISAPPOINTMENT, so YOU don’t know what you’re talking about. This place rocks.

BIGFAIL! Do yourself a favor and don’t bother giving this OVERPRICED restaurant your money. The food is good but the HORRIBLESERVICEANDRUDESTAFFANDOWNERS don’t deserve your time or money. There are plenty if other places in the Woodstock area with great food and quality service!

If you don’t want to cook and you don’t want to go out to eat. This place is the place restaurant quality at a take home price. My wife brought home a soup of chick peas and spinach. I didn’t think I would like it, but it great and the cup cakes are killer. We get take out from this place a lot.

I really love Bistro to Go. Their food is fresh, local and so delicious! I hardly ever eat red meat, but they make it look so good I order it and it is as good as it looks… even better! The vegetables are wonderful and they make beautiful desserts and pastry’s. I always try and stop there when I go to Woodstock as they are on the way. I give them 5 stars which they deserve!

As the President of a hospitality consulting company that works with hotels, resorts and restaurants both nationally and internationally, I have had the pleasure of shopping and eating at Bistro-to-Go. The quality of the food is the freshest possible, the staff is vibrant, helpful and knowledgeable about their products, and the environment is always fresh, clean and welcoming. Owners Mary Anne and Richard Erickson are obviously tuned in to the mindset of treating their staff as well as their customers on an equal footing– with loving care. Bravo Team Bistro-to-Go!

i have to start by saying that i do love the food at this place. never really had anything to complain about. it’s the atmosphere and staff, including kitchen and management that make me feel i need to give them feedback. when you walk in, the cooks peer out through the window giving you the stink-eye; counter people don’t seem to follow the order of who came in first and act like they’re doing you a favor by waiting on you. the staff obviously have their favorites, but i’m apparently not one of them and this is made apparent. they all feel snobby; maybe the tone is set by the management, if don’t know, but be nice, people. you’re in a service business.

I’ve been hearing all about this place from my coworkers so I tried it today for lunch. I walked in and browsed the counter looking for something good while the people behind the counter stared at me as if I was a Martian. I ordered some sautéed kale, a piece of marinated steak an butternut squash soup. The soup was amazing however the kale was so bland that I could finish it and the steak was too tough. Now I know this is take out bistro but at lest offer your customer hot food options! I went back to my office and had to microwave my steak after I told the counter staff I was looking for a hot meal. I didn’t think it deserved only two stars but well after an hour and a half of eating their food I’ve been left feeling sicker than ever. Needless to say I will never be back.

I’ve been in bistro to go twice and haven’t tasted the food– today I have accepted I never will because I am not ever going back– for a small place with a big staff– good luck getting help-and definitely do not go if you have some place to be. I give the service there 0 stars and like I said I can’t rate the food. Who would ever want to eat somewhere they felt like wanting to place an order was offensive to the staff?! Thanks. But no thanks. And don’t look into the kitchen everyone in there looks like they wanna fight you. And please know this is not an angry rant I find ratings on here helpful and I work in the industry so I know about patience and respect for small places like this– try it out– maybe you’ll have a good experience I sure didn’t

Who doesn’t love the idea of good tasting, well prepared take-out? Unfortunately, this place never quite lives up to my expectations. The deserts look good but are so super sweet even my kids rejected the cupcakes. I could accept just okay food if the service was better, but I’ve never experienced such rude, unhelpful staff. The girls behind the counter have the attitude that anywhere and anything is more important than helping you. One just stood behind the counter, apparently doing nothing, but refusing to acknowledge me, for a good 5 minutes. It’s on the pricey side too, which is why I will not be going there again.

The cupcakes are superb and the food has always been very good but when three people behind me got their food first, that’s when they loose and I lose it. If you’re not the only patron in this place the staff of eight will not be able to handle the crowd. It’s common at Bistro, especially with a stigma of a small town slowing you down. The girls behind the counter can be cute but what they lack is food service management skills. The owners are on site too which really leaves no excuse. I call bunk or bad management in the ‘service’ part as it is slow and not orderly certainly not efficient. As a self professed food snob to be sure I found the offerings to be pretty good overall. You’ll stop here because it’ll be the first notion of modernity and contemporary fare you see in an upstate ‘hot spot’.
