Holiday Inn Express & Suites Kings Mountain – Shelby Area

Friendly staff, however the room was awful. The tv did not work, one bed was wet upon check in, like a spot on the comforter was wet, and the other bed the next morning while packing we found pills in there! Tylenol or something but it was awful knowing the sheets were never changed! Breakfast is a joke, I would expect this if I paid 65 $ for the night but 125 $ should buy me clean sheets and working tv and a decent breakfast. Apparently not. Never again.

Nice stay-​holiday inn express hotels usually are. This was about what you’d expect, not a lot extra. Breakfast was okay– not as good as HIE usually is. I gave 4 stars because the room was overpriced for the area.

Came here for one night after another reservation fell through in Shelby. One night and we extended our stay for the entire visit. The large, VERY comfortable room was a winner. FREE WIFI! Beautiful bathroom with great soaps (not harsh). Multiple places to sit in our suite. ADA compliant with lift to put the disabled in pristine pool. FREE breakfast — YAY! Many healthy and good tasting choices. Chiobani yogurt, oatmeal, grits, eggs, sausage, toast, GLUTEN free bread available, fresh fruit, great tasting juice, and pancakes and sausage. The lovely lobby can be accessed to sit an enjoy coffee, watch TV or read actual BOOKS that are offered on the bookshelves. Along with the good, old fashioned southern charm. You cannot beat this for the location, price, amenities and charm.

There was a dead bug in my bed. Enough said.

I just have to share this with my friends. I am back in Kings Mountain, NC on business and am staying at a Holiday Inn Express. They have a business center with a computer and printer which I need to use tonight. I get the paper from the front desk and password for the computer with no issue. I open my email to download some PDF files to print for tomorrow. Guess what… parental controls… NO printing at all. I threw one piece of paper out just for the hell of it and gave the rest back. I was asked,“did everything work sir?”. My answer, yes, your IT department is brilliant on how they are able to save trees. Have a wonderful night.
The rooms are nice and updated. I feel the rate is pricey for the area.
