Great! Drove here from Southern California and craving Mexican food. Would come here again for sure! Love the salsa and margaritas.

Love this place. We’ve never had to wait to be seated, always friendly service and the food is perfect. As a vegetarian, it is nice to have more than one or two options on the menu. There are many options in all categories. I would recommend to all for lunch or dinner.

Came here because of the great Unilocal reviews. My experience was that the service was very poor and the food uninspired. Bleh. Won’t be back.

While visiting our friends they took us here. They offer a lot on their Menu which made it hard to choose as it all looked good! Chips, Hot and Mild Salsa & Bean dip were brought right out and our waitress was really friendly. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered and felt the portions were good for the price and we all walked out full. Its a nice clean place in the old downtown part of Kingman right across from the Train Station. We definately will stop again when passing through to try something different.

Food is great. Bean dip awesome and chips are fresh. Shrimp salad is soooooo yummy!!! Only complaint: one of the waitresses goes outside to smoke and sprays herself with 8 – 10 squirts of perfume which lingers outside. On more than one occasion I’ve had this happen… I can taste it in my mouth and smell it on myself upon walking OUTSIDE of the building!!! I get in my car and drive home and still smell it… :-(

We are traveling through Kingman and found this place on Unilocal.Everyone was very friendly as we walked in and seated us right away. We were able to get happy hour prices at our table for drinks. Margaritas were amazing. We ordered our food and it came very quickly and was absolutely delicious. Our waitress Judy was great! She Was super nice and friendly and was always around whenever we needed something. She was a lot of fun and had a very fun personality. We definitely recommend this place and if you get a chance ask for Judy’s table.

This place is interesting. The décor is random and quirky so I was not sure what to expect. The food and bar are great. Great service. I’d come back here in a heartbeat.

Great food, waitress very nice. Chips and three salsas are great. We stopped on our way from Vegas while looking for a restaurant that was more than just fast food. We were happy with service and taste of food.

I ordered the chimichanga and my mom order chicken marimba. Both dishes and bean did was delicious. The only thing disappointing was I got a couple pieces of hard rice mixed in but everything else was great! Judy was the best waitress. Always got what we needed, without asking a bazillion times. Judy is awesome!

MORECHIPSANDSALSA, PLEASE! It all began in 1982 with El Palacio of Bullhead City, Arizona a growing reputation grew such that in 1990 they opened a new restaurant, a 9,000 square foot building known as Casa Serrano of Mohave Valley. 1995 – 2003, they opened restaurants in Kingman, located in a 100 year old building on historic Route 66, Bullhead City, Lake Havasu, and Laughlin, Nevada. All thanks to loyal customers, friends, and employees a reputation of quality food and excellent service was established and spread across state lines. STATS: Free street parking Monday — Sunday 11:00 a.m. — 9:00 p.m. Catering available Daily drink and food specials OUREXPERIENCE: Round-trip from LA to our next camping adventure, Unilocal app suggested we eat our last civilized meal here at El Palacio. Although situated on the main drag in this quaint town of Kingman, parking was easy peasy. With a summer like heat, stepping into this 100 year old building nicely decorated with a Spanish genius, our body temps were quickly cooled down with central air conditioning. We were greeted and seated quickly, given water to quench our thirst, and chips with two levels of hot salsa a bean dip to get our tummies in the mood for some Mexican grub. Our friendly, knowledgeable server shared their specials, as well as a list of the most popular items. I ordered my staple, carnitas tacos, which came in a pair, there were two of them ;-) served in warm flour tortillas with Pico de Gallo and guac on the side. Tacos were tender, juicy and full of yummy flavor. Guac was clearly fresh and chunky, as it should be. Fellow hikers got the Machaca Wrap and Let’s Taco About it. The Machaca Wrap was dressed up with chunks of carne asada, salad greens, tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, and a special sour cream dressing and came with rice and beans. Let’s Taco About it came as a trio, there were three of them ;-) of hard-shelled corn tortillas were stuffed with carne asada, lettuce tomato, and cheddar cheese. Lettuce, tomato, and cheddar cheese, in my opinion, is not authentic Mexican trimmings, not what I grew up on, however, it probably works well in this small town. Fellow hikers were mighty pleased with their platters of food. So much so, we came back after our backpacking trip where we indulged in our first meal back in civilization. That pretty much answers the question… Would I ever come back? Yep, done, did, on our way home from our backpacking adventure in Havasu Falls.

This place is awesome. Four of us were making the road trip from Vegas to the Grand Canyon and stopped off in Kingman for lunch and to swap drivers. We stopped at El Palacio based on Unilocal reviews and weren’t disappointed. We were brought chips and salsa to nibble on while we were choosing from the menu — both the lunch and main menus had loads to offer. In the end, I went for the tamale fantastico, which was both gigantic and delicious. Perfect to keep me going for the rest of the journey. My companions had the veggie burrito, a burger and the enchiladas. We all agreed the food was great. It tasted super fresh and the portions were huge. We left thinking it was the best food we’d had on the trip so far.

Arrogant waiter… when we first sat down he was on top of us, then we could not find him for love or money, in fact we had to ask another server to let him know we wanted to order. Small town feel, you could tell it was loaded with tourists and locals alike, but this was NOT good Mexican food. The chili verde was cubed pork with sauce on top with a few canned ortega chili’s in it. The cheese in my enchilada was so cheep it congealed as it cooled and was tasteless. Take my advice go somewhere else.

Stopped here twice so far on separate road trips to the Grand Canyon. Food is great and never disappoints. The mild and spicy salsas served with the chips are my favorite. Portion sizes are huge and they have plenty of vegetarian options. My favorite is the veggie plate served over rice. I find the dishes a bit too cheesy but they dial down on the cheese if you ask. They also gave us a free sample of churros after our meal. I took off one star because my dads meal was served with meat even though he asked for vegetarian, they did apologize profusely and made him a new one though.

Coming back from the Grand Canyon we stumbled upon this Mexican restaurant. We walked in and knew this would be good. The ambiance is very colorful with the appropriate music playing. This place chooses not to be fancy and I’m glad. The food was excellent with both the appetizers and entrees being so good that for the first time ever that we boxed up food from a Mexican restaurant. The style of food is different from Californian Mexican food but its not such a bad thing as there is much less cheese. I shall return whenever going through the area.

We had a enchilada ranchera and burrito. Plates are huge but food is just good, nothing special. I would not call it a real mexican cuisine. It is missing spices and fresh herbs. Staff is nice but a bit borred and slow. Next time in Kingman, I would dine somewhere else.

If I lived in Kingman, el Palicio would be a place I’d eat on a regular basis, as it is, I look to stopping here every couple years. Great food, friendly service, margaritas with a kick. Try the spinach enchiladas or the chile rellano or chili Verde… I can’t wait to come here again and try something new.

Good authentic Mexican food with vegetarian options as well as traditional fare. Good for large groups as well. Great service. The veggie burrito was very big & the avocados fresh. Salsa was picante without overpowering all the other flavored.

Having lived in Los Angeles for a long time, I admit I’m a bit skeptical of Mexican restaurants in small towns. The food at El Palacio doesn’t taste like the Mexican food you find in California(or in Mexico, for that matter) — it’s more like what I thought Mexican food was before I moved out west.(Think hard shell tacos with shredded iceberg lettuce and yellow cheddar cheese.) The prices are a bit high for what you get — platters are around $ 12 — $ 13, though you can find dishes around $ 10. It’s nothing special, and the service was slow and not very attentive. But the atmosphere is nice, the portions are big, and the food is pretty tasty! I ordered an empanada, which was massive — it costs $ 5 and takes up a whole small plate — and unlike any empanada I’ve had before: it’s filled with pork, green chili, and pickled veggies, in a big flour tortilla that tastes crispy like it’s been lightly pan-fried. Sort of a cross between an empanada and a quesadilla– odd but surprisingly tasty. My guy got the«Mexican flag» enchiladas. The beef enchilada was only okay, but the chicken and pork enchiladas were good. They start of the meal with chips and three kinds of salsa or dip; the salsas were okay, and the bean dip was the best one of the bunch. I wouldn’t rush back to El Palacio any time soon, and would try another restaurant if I were passing through Kingman again. But it’s decent Americanized Mexican food, and I wasn’t disappointed with my meal.

We had lunch here Friday 02÷06÷15 around 1 pm. When you arrive you get a basket of chips, 2 types of salsa and a bowl of the best refried beans you will ever have. My boyfriend and I ordered the same thing, 3 mini tacos(I got shredded beef and he got chicken) and a cheese enchilada. My shredded beef was so tasty, it was mixed with onion and green peppers. The taco shells were fried to a perfect crips, and the cheese enchilada was perfect. The best part was at the end when they bring you the check, they also bring you a small dish of fruitas. These fruitas are wonton skins filled with strawberry fruit preserve, deep fried and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar, and served with whipped cream. Soooooo yummy !!! Next time I’m going to order this after the meal just so I can have a plate of them to myself

Netter Mexikaner.
